obinna adindu Yes and so did/do I! I drive it out of the showroom yesterday. Beautiful car, pleasant to drive and plenty of power (I bought the AMG 43). My only concern is the slight turbo-lag sensation you get from the gearbox, which is quick by all means but just has an odd feeling as I have described.

Yes, I like the side step, especially in snow conditions, you can knock the snow off your feet before entry, they protect the body of the vehicle, and small kids can clime in on their own..so I think they are essential and look good.

Thomas loves the interior design and will love the next Redesign with new single module instrumentation similar to the C class coup. Then again, when that is completely redesigned again, Thomas will Really like that also because Thomas likes Mercedes!

I am buying a Mercedes GLC 350e Coupe for my next car. I looked at many reviews and test drives but no one is even close to the quality of your review. Just to get the feel of your style i off course looked at several of your tother est drives, and your thoroughness makes my choice simpler. It is like you say, a matter of preference. I will for sure look at your car review for any car i will be buying in the future
I liked it when you said this is one of the coupe's where it has worked on the exterior...ban on point. Most end up looking very weird due to the curve, but they tried for this one. 1st coupe I have liked.
I like it, much better looking than the X4. Too bad MB is not offering same trim and engine combinations in Sweden as in Germany, BMW has more less same trims and engines.
The picture quality on the interior was stunning,for anyone interested in buying any car,they should watch your reviews the details your reviews show are amazing. That's a stunning blue paint colour on the car....a sepang copy lol
very intelligent review! I have owned only one hybrid, but it is delightful to always have strong torque available instantly, when entering traffic, for example. With the hybrid there is no waiting for the engine to "develop" torque. I was so used to engine lag that it was invisible to me ...until I drove the hybrid. It is no small advantage. It is HUGE. Looking forward to a US release of this car in hybrid configuration.

Hello Tomas from Canada! Thank you for this. I enjoyed this review very much. I just ordered mine with the same colour (Brilliant Blue) but with the Cranberry/Black Sport ARTICO upholstery. And yes - I included the aluminum running boards. In my opinion, it really compliments the entire look of the vehicle. Personal preference for sure. It arrives in July 2017!
Great, in depth review. Really like the coupe's look but the boot capacity is a bit limited for carrying a lot of cargo. Though I'm looking forward to test driving it when it arrives in Australia. My brother picked up the GLC 250 with enginering offroad option recently - it made a big difference to the ride quality on Australian road compare to one with an AMG body kit. The air suspension is simply fantastic for abosorbing bumps and potholes, giving you maximum ride comfort on the roughest roads. Personally I would opt for the air suspension every time, especially for Australian roads.
Great review as always and great car! By the way you are 100% right about the telepass areas also consider that they often create a lot of traffic especially around big cities

Thomas, you have my highest respect for not liking animal skin seats. I couldn’t agree more, there are enough alternative options which are just as good, if not better.
Another outstanding review. My older square GLK 350 AWD is a Frankenstein design being a C class chassis with an E class V6 engine - wonderful.. major sales feature and it rides surprisingly well, even with fat 20" wheels - the smaller but high aspect options give softer ride. I have the side steps and they are worthless except to get your trouser legs dirty. The newer GLC is entirely different but no ore E class engine! In USA many cars have the blind spot radar which totally constantly trips my Valentine One radar- wish all car makers would drop that feature or find another frequency. I like the transmission shift level position- frees up more space in the center area. Once you have AWD you will never want to be without it-- of course helpful in snow and gravel but wonderful in a hard rain too! Some manual nav controls won't work while car is in motion so it's full voice control or pull over!. Info screen seems lie an id stuck onto the dash- not build in like GLK - guess it will suffer more sun glare this way. Love the Heads Up display feature. Mercedes cruise control keeps the set speed- but on a down hill where momentum allows higher speed, the brakes are applied to maintain the set speed-- bad feature. Maybe new eco mode will cancel that out. I would much prefer the COUPE to the SUV in the sporty appearance and ride, sacrifice some rear storage. Test drives should include a U turn or 3 point turn in city to show the degree of maneuverability. The AWD HYBRID model will be a huge success-more economical and added horsepower! Not all have garage for charging ( apartment dwellers for example). I wonder how much time to justify the extra expense with the mileage savings? Does the E model have a smaller gas tank? What is the anticipated cost for an electric charge? Changing from electric to gas Mercedes activates the cylinder nearest to top setting - reducing any shock or shutter when the engine cuts in.

def the best looking of all the SUV/SAV Coupes. the previous X6 looked like it was deformed from some angles, current x6 improved but looks inflated, the GLE looks like a blob, but this works for me.

Hi Thomas, I agree with many here, excellent review. When you buy an expensive car , it's good to know you are spending your money well (or not), so the attention you have for detail is just superb. The hybrid (e) version is very tempting, also with additional incentive for us here in Israel, where sales customs is only 20% on hybrids, versus 83% on petrol only engine. I am looking forward to your review of the 2019 Porsche Macan.

I like to watch your You -Tube Car Show, I think it is one of the best produced shows out there at this time. I would like to suggest a few items that I think can be of help in the production of your show. 1. Please ask your camera man check is entire picture surroundings when you are outside. On many of your outside shows there are window reflections that distract the viewer, and end up competing for the viewer attention. You want all eyes on you and your message, not any background reflections that are a viewing distraction. 2. On a personal point, I am in the process of ordering the C Coupe C43, I like a little more power on demand when passing on the road. Your assessment of the Hybrid Car I found very interesting and I and other viewers would appreciate another show just on the Hybrid vehicle. The Hybrid holds a lot of promise, but there is still a way to go on the battery technology before it is affordable on a mass scale. I am writing you from Canada, where the Governments here are promoting Hybrid or Electric cars. Not everybody has the means to spend $80,000eu on an electric car (Tesla) in spite of the tax rebate. So I believe that depending on the MB cost, MB can do well here if it priced out reasonable. 3. The only draw back on the current MB Hybrid is the limitation on the distance of 43KM. In some places here in Canada the distance is too great for electric, and our winters can be long and cold. It would be interesting to see if MB would cold test their Hybrid cars in Canada’s north where the temps can drop to minus 40c, with a Northern wind of another 30km. It is funny though a lot of people settled up there from Northern Europe. I live in Toronto where it can get cold just not that cold. I enjoy your show and look forward in your future productions. Great review. I just pre-ordered 2019 GLC 300 Coupe in black, fully loaded with AMG line (but not the engine). Decided not the spend that much more. But, I was on the fence for weeks on the side step panels. Car looks more like a muscle car with them- which is kinda cool. In the end, I went without them. Car's not big enough for a side step. It felt forced and gimmicky.
i hope they will come out with bigger entertainment screen/display with smaller bazels with touchscreen so u can choose the way u want to controle it..

Germany is unique with it's free autobahn system and unlimited speed driving. I'm living in Belgium, also toll free (like The Netherlands and Luxemburg) and always look forward to travel through Germany to Croatia (although Austria, Slovenia and Croatia is not toll free so I use secondary roads) .. I was never soo focused on my driving as in Germany when driving at high speeds +200 kph. I agree with Thomas, they should forbid toll roads, as Europeans pay already so much tax !! Therefore I never go on holiday to France and Italy anymore, too expensive highways and secondary roads are going through cities, so very slow. In compensation for free highways I try to buy German consumer products as much I can (German car, etc etc) .
Excellent review, I am planning to buy GLC coupe but I wonder what about seats are they comfort type of package of seats in this GLC? Also what about sound in this car, is it some kind of exhaust additional equipment or it is standard sound?

Thomas - would be great to see a review of the BMW x4 as a direct comparison to the Mercedes GLC coupe. Perhaps the 35d, which is affordable, but with a fantastically quick Diesel engine. I really like this x4 on paper, however apart from being a bit outdated, particularly in the interior, I don't know if dynamically it stacks up against this GLC coupe. Thanks
Tomas a question please. When you drive e-mode and the battery run out of energy will the petrol engine charge the battery or you have to go to a station and charge by cable??? I own the Lexus hybrid and the petrol engine charge the battery automaticaly. Does the same happen with Mercedes???thanks your reply in advance.
Amazing review. Can you confirm please if in the hybrid version you can open and close the boot by pressing a button?. Reading the specs, it seems that that option is not available in the hybrid version. And can you confirm please if the confort, sport and sport+ modes are available in the hybrid version?. Finally, if you do not take into account the room below the floor of the boot, is the room of the boot similar in the petrol version and in the hybrid version?. Thank you very much for your help, I live in Spain and there are not hybrid version in the dealers yet and I have to buy my new car before the end of January.
Autogefühl yes I saw the whole review but I can not see if you can close the boot pushing a button in the hybrid version, I can not see you using sport mode (only e-save, e-mode and hybrid ) and it is not clear if the boot is similar in both version if you do not take into account the room below the boot floor. I would appreciate an answer. Thank you very much for your help.
When the boot opens electrically it also closes that way. The boot is the same besides the height. Driving modes still exist, in the close up you can see at the top the normal driving mode selector!
What about the headroom in the back, if you dont have the sunroof ? Is it any better than ? Ist die Sitzhöhe hinten besser , wenn man das Auto ohne Sunroof bestellt ? Danke für deine Antwort. Thanks.
It seems a lot of money for which is basically a jacked up 2+2. The rear passengers will end up with hunched shoulders like the rear of the car after a long journey

1. Please ask your camera man check is entire picture surroundings when you are outside. On many of your outside shows there are window reflections that distract the viewer, and end up competing for the viewer attention. You want all eyes on you and your message, not any background reflections that are a viewing distraction.
2. On a personal point, I am in the process of ordering the C Coupe C43, I like a little more power on demand when passing on the road. Your assessment of the Hybrid Car I found very interesting and I and other viewers would appreciate another show just on the Hybrid vehicle. The Hybrid holds a lot of promise, but there is still a way to go on the battery technology before it is affordable on a mass scale. I am writing you from Canada, where the Governments here are promoting Hybrid or Electric cars. Not everybody has the means to spend $80,000eu on an electric car (Tesla) in spite of the tax rebate. So I believe that depending on the MB cost, MB can do well here if it priced out reasonable.
3. The only draw back on the current MB Hybrid is the limitation on the distance of 43KM. In some places here in Canada the distance is too great for electric, and our winters can be long and cold. It would be interesting to see if MB would cold test their Hybrid cars in Canada’s north where the temps can drop to minus 40c, with a Northern wind of another 30km. It is funny though a lot of people settled up there from Northern Europe. I live in Toronto where it can get cold just not that cold.

Great review. I just pre-ordered 2019 GLC 300 Coupe in black, fully loaded with AMG line (but not the engine). Decided not the spend that much more. But, I was on the fence for weeks on the side step panels. Car looks more like a muscle car with them- which is kinda cool. In the end, I went without them. Car's not big enough for a side step. It felt forced and gimmicky.

Diesel always sounds worse of course and produces more NOx

Germany is unique with it's free autobahn system and unlimited speed driving. I'm living in Belgium, also toll free (like The Netherlands and Luxemburg) and always look forward to travel through Germany to Croatia (although Austria, Slovenia and Croatia is not toll free so I use secondary roads) .. I was never soo focused on my driving as in Germany when driving at high speeds +200 kph. I agree with Thomas, they should forbid toll roads, as Europeans pay already so much tax !! Therefore I never go on holiday to France and Italy anymore, too expensive highways and secondary roads are going through cities, so very slow. In compensation for free highways I try to buy German consumer products as much I can (German car, etc etc) .

Excellent review, I am planning to buy GLC coupe but I wonder what about seats are they comfort type of package of seats in this GLC? Also what about sound in this car, is it some kind of exhaust additional equipment or it is standard sound?
pick the standard seats and go for MBText/Artico or the microfibre variant Dinamica/Artico mix!

Thomas - would be great to see a review of the BMW x4 as a direct comparison to the Mercedes GLC coupe. Perhaps the 35d, which is affordable, but with a fantastically quick Diesel engine. I really like this x4 on paper, however apart from being a bit outdated, particularly in the interior, I don't know if dynamically it stacks up against this GLC coupe. Thanks

Tomas a question please. When you drive e-mode and the battery run out of energy will the petrol engine charge the battery or you have to go to a station and charge by cable???
I own the Lexus hybrid and the petrol engine charge the battery automaticaly. Does the same happen with Mercedes???thanks your reply in advance.

Amazing review. Can you confirm please if in the hybrid version you can open and close the boot by pressing a button?. Reading the specs, it seems that that option is not available in the hybrid version. And can you confirm please if the confort, sport and sport+ modes are available in the hybrid version?. Finally, if you do not take into account the room below the floor of the boot, is the room of the boot similar in the petrol version and in the hybrid version?. Thank you very much for your help, I live in Spain and there are not hybrid version in the dealers yet and I have to buy my new car before the end of January.

Autogefühl yes I saw the whole review but I can not see if you can close the boot pushing a button in the hybrid version, I can not see you using sport mode (only e-save, e-mode and hybrid ) and it is not clear if the boot is similar in both version if you do not take into account the room below the boot floor. I would appreciate an answer. Thank you very much for your help.
When the boot opens electrically it also closes that way. The boot is the same besides the height. Driving modes still exist, in the close up you can see at the top the normal driving mode selector!
