Who doesn’t like paneer? Vegans…. lol 😝 Already looking forward to a 2024 flight review of Air India, exciting times for the airline! Thank you for the review and saw your are fast approaching 10.000.000 total views 🤯 Your hard work is paying off 👏🏼
Really glad to see that the changes have already started happening. As an Indian, Air India will probably remain as the only affordable option that is also part of a major airline alliance (Star Alliance in this case), so it's good to see that they're already working hard to restore the reputation they once had. Great video as always, Kev!
Also I should mention, aside from superb the structural format of your videos that delineate each section with clarity of purpose which already sets your channel apart a class from the rest, the sheer amount of precise and speculative analysis presented pushes it a few classes further. Kudos to you Kevin; there are many entertaining channels, and many informative ones, but to produce intelligent and entertaining content concurrently is extremely difficult, and I believe you've done that remarkably well.
Thanks very much for that. Sometimes doing the ‘same thing’ day in and out it’s hard to look at things with fresh eyes, so detailed comments like yours (even if they were constructive) are greatly appreciated.
Air India has now become a topic of national pride and why not?! We have that approach for a lot of renowned airlines such as BA, AA etc. I think this kind of obsession is healthy. With that in mind, it always feels a bit tricky when I see a pop-up of AI review nowadays especially by one of my favorite reviewers who is actually genuinely honest and fair. I feel so happy knowing that you actually saw changes in the service and those being good changes. A massive airline refresh will take time and I appreciate you reiterating the same in the video which a lot of people do not seem to understand. As always, a fantastic video and looking forward to more of them. Thank you so much for putting in such hard work in bringing airline review honesty to us.
A full cold box meal on a 1hr domestic flight??? Gosh.. on NZ, you only get chips or a cookie.. and they tout as the best snacks in the sky... keep up the videos mate! Loving it!!
9:41 it looks like the seat has IFE but is covered by seat cover. I have noticed this in many a320s and a321s of Air India, I hope they resume IFE service soon. It doesn't make sense to hide it like that.

08:20 - In India FSC's have a turnaround time of 60 mins at Larger and 45 mins at smaller airports. LCC's at 45 mins and 30 mins. Take the boarding time with a pinch of salt. Most often the incoming flight hasn't even landed! (Not in this instance) ... Show up to the gate 30 mins prior and you're good to go.
Glad to see Air India on the road of restructuring. Wish them all the best. Hopefully, we could see fresh cabins on their narrowbodies similarly to Vistara's standard :)
Wonderful review. Glad to see that there are some noticeable changes in the airline. The fact that you mentioned about them taking in an A350 and a 737MAX shows how much research you put in making your videos. AIX's livery looks better than Air india. I hope indigo gets some much needed competition from them. Glad to also hear about your flight with Air india next year to document further changes. Awesome video as always!
@@tfft Expectations from the liveries of both the FSC and LCC were something more mature like SIA's livery. But I guess everyone are left a bit disappointed.
Long time lurker/watcher/subscriber! Great video on the AI experience - and look forward to seeing the rest of your series in and around India. May I ask, where do you source all your high quality tail fin logos/images in your thumbnails? I've been struggling to find good quality ones for ages!

Hi, Kevin. Fabulous review as usual. Shame about Vistara, brilliant international carrier. Let's hope they bring AI up-to-date and not the other way. Here's hoping that the news seats come in before 2025 when I fly Australia again via Heathrow and Delhi😊
I’m confident there’s no way SQ would attach their name to a crap carrier. Their involvement alone is enough for me to trust in the future of the airline. Thanks for watching 🩴
I firmly believe that their new livery is bold and would look much better on a wide body aircraft. It just looks simplistic in visual context only. Many people would end up changing their opinion who termed it as LCC vibes. At the end of the day, you can’t make everyone happy.
I don’t think it has LCC vibes. To me, it looks like they gave the Vistara branding to a focus group and said “remake this logo to feel fresh and dynamic, you have 5 minutes”… et voilà lol
I flew Air India twice over the last 2-3 weeks. MAA-IXM and KTM-DEL. Got the same snack box you did MAA-IXM and a full meal KTM-DEL, which was impressive for a 1.5 hour economy flight. tbh I didn't sense much difference from my domestic/regional flights with AI a few years ago but I thought those were fine too and changes are doubtless on the way. Put it this way, want something to eat on my home airline, BA, on a short flight? Get your credit card out. I wish AI well in their reconfiguration and expansion. I like Delhi T3 too if only they'd sort out the annoying taxi scammers who don't give a good impression of a rapidly rising economy like India's.

A minor correction..SIA does not hold any shares of AI yet. That will come into effect only after Vistara merger.. and the merger is currently on hold to get AI upto par with Vistara..
A small correction Vivek. The legal entity merger of Air India (Talace Private Limited) and Vistara (Tata SIA Airlines Limited) is NOT on hold and was approved by CCI few months ago so it is due to complete in H1 next year after which SIA will get their shareholding in Air India or you can say the new Air India entity. The merger which you mentioned is the brand merger of Air India and Vistara i.e. combining the two brands as one. That merger is on hold as Mr. Wilson said that it wont happen till Air India comes on par with Vistara in terms of quality and service. So brand merger does not have any impact on shareholding changes.
Great and fair review as always Kevin. I have never flown Air India but my young adult daughter flew with them from Sydney to London via Delhi last year and, although this is not a route we would normally choose, there were literally no other options at the time. Her experience was fine but one area I think Tata where could definitely bring their group IT expertise into play is their IT services and especially their website. In particular things like online check in, ease of finding correct information, online chat support etc. I had a few questions regarding transiting in Delhi and was unable to find the relevant information on the website or get any meaningful answers from their chat support.

Given SQ’s involvement, I am surprised it’s quite a younger looking design. I was expecting something a bit more subtle, like Vistara. Thanks for watching 🩴
My take on the livery is that it is an improvement, but still not all that good. To my eye, the current design is very 1970's, and not in a good way. Just very dated. As for the new, I'm fine, but not wowed, by the tail design. What disappoints me though is the font for the Air India name on the side - somehow just looks very low cost carrier to me in its style, which I'm sure isn't what they are going for.
Yup, my biggest contention is also the font. I think it has a very juvenile 2000s feel to it. You can tell they took Vistara's font and tried to "freshen" it... but considering Vistara's font is also borderline dated/2000s... this didn't turn out so well. Thanks for watching 🩴

Well at least you're not still bitter about it or something...decades later...
@@tfftYeah, I'm completely over it, that's Why I never mention it....more that 3 times a week.
Those are just new seat covers. I doubt there’s been any deep cleaning done on the actual seats under it.
Better than nothing!
Next Video on Nepal Airlines, Kathmandu to Tokyo
Nope, but I do have a Nepal Airlines flight booked for next year!
Appreciate the chapers.
Appreciate the comment 🩴
Air India economy seats on the A320 are miles ahead in comfort compared to IndiGo
As any FSC should be compared to LCCs. Thanks for watching 🩴
Try Star Air and Air India Express

Come to Estonia!!!!
Would love to! Love Tallinn. Thanks for watching 🩴
No amount of improvement would make Air India a good safe hygienic airline !
You're fun.
Given SQ’s involvement, I am surprised it’s quite a younger looking design. I was expecting something a bit more subtle, like Vistara. Thanks for watching 🩴
Another top video!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I too am not thrilled by the new livery. Too casual.
Yes. Feels too juvenile for a flag carrier. The colors and tail I’m okay with but the font is very 00s.
❤

Dude can u tell me about your income source.
You’re looking at it 😉

New livery looks cartoonish
The old one with red window frames on the windows and the sun ☀ logo were instantly recognisable

Vegans, I tell you! 😂
😅
I think the new logo and livery is a complete fail. It lost its charm, doesn't feel Indian and is very unremarkable. A real downgrade
