THE best TV mom EVER!!! I loved her acting in the first and second seasons of The Waltons.
I was born in 1969 and grew up on this show. My wife was born in 1955 and she only grew up on it and actually had a Waltons lunch box in school. Around 2010 my wife bought all the DVDs and we watched it through again. She even watched it maybe 2 or 3 more times through. We also read a lot on Will and he seems to have been a real character. My wife passed last year. Miss her more than life.

Thank u and everyone involved for Waltons. I am a turkish guy 49 years old and I grew up in Germany and Turkey and had the chance to watch the series in both languages as a child. So I practically grew up with Waltons familiy. It showed a lot about life, passion, selflessness, familiy and all the good things that it takes to be a human being. Thank u for everything and Allah bless u all.
I'm only 19, but I've been a fan of Miss Michael Learned for a long time! She was one of my favorite actresses as a kid! So happy to see this interview. :)

Michael, yes, Olivia was nice, but she was also a complex person that supersedes the general impression of her. You were the most incredible reactor to all that incircled you and my eye was always focused on Olivia's take with whatever was happening. Just how much is she willing to put up with this family before she explodes? I watched The Waltons growing up and of course was a big fan. Only now, in watching everyday on ME TV do I actually process the majesty of every episode. Richard Thomas' exit did not kill off the show, it just took a quick left turn and continued to churn out the same level of quality as the family got more involved in the lives of the people in their community. Verdie & Olivia. Incredible. In having left the show, I can understand putting in 18 hour days for what you felt was mostly pouring coffee, but the audience certainly never felt Olivia became irrelevant. To me, Miss Michael Learned (not Michele!) was the star and heart of The Waltons ensemble show.
Such a beautiful lady.

Maybe she was going through divorce because she was a drunk wife
