Methods and Mechanics II: Life on the Road, Songs, Solos, Stories and Lessons takes us on a multi faceted, enlightening and entertaining ride that goes well beyond basic instruction.
The kit looks really comfortable to play. Sometimes, some of these kits are almost overwhelming in their size and scope. I like him a lot. Great, feel, good technique and he explains in a way that even I can learn from.
It would be great if today's pop music was still created by master musicians like this guy...
That's awesome Todd!!!
Very nice! I love drumparts where is a lot of toms creating some kind of melody. This one sounds very esoteric to me :-D it looks very funny to play. I will jam it out tomorrow :-) thanks for inspiration.
YES!!! THIS ROOM IS A DRUMMER DREAM!!!
I'm glad I'm taking theory. Listening to this video makes me anxious for school tomorrow. I know this guy is knowledged in theory
Goddamnit. Todd Sucherman is elite.
Thank you. That was just great!
David
why have i never heard of this great man!
A lot of people don't appreciate his musicality in music. Todd Sucherman has not only played with Styx, but also is the recording drummer for the genius Brian Wilson on his solo albums.
Ok, so now I have another favorite drummer! I have been out of the music scene for a while, and just had not been familiar with him. Good stuff!
David
wow, what a drum set
That was awesome
Stoked.
wooo this is sooo soooo coool!
groove!precise!
It's a 6". His kit is 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. Pearl never makes 6" toms, but did for him because he used to have one when he played Ayotte.
If you don't have a zillion toms, Danielcrspo, use your imagination and work at getting a zillion sounds out of each drum you have. It's pretty simple when you think it through. It doesn't matter what you have or don't have---it's how you use what you DO have. You can get 1000 sounds out of one cymbal. Surely you must realize this. I wish you luck.
I've seen at least three or four 6" Masterworks toms made on the Pearl drum forum that some of the users own. They seem pretty sweet
Those drum sound incredible. I can't spot the maker. Anyone know?
Pretty amazing stuff right? He plays for Styx if you're interested in looking him up
Well sure.. Then they make it for their endorsers per a request. But none of their custom series has that option available.
noooo effin way! That's nice.. I love it when companies do that. I was basing my assumption off a moderndrummer thread I read this fall; I guess that's changed!
Are those three drums to the left of him octobans?
So damn cool!
this is niceeeeeee!!!!
Humm It looks to me to be a Stanbridge snare drum. Todd has over 5 of his snares including the new Empyrean - made by Pete Stanbridge. He makes the most amazing snares ever. Period. Check out the stanbrigdedrums and empyreandrum on line.
Iehhh!! Very Good!
anyone knows which snare is that?
HOLY DRUM TONES
Its the best drummer
how do you convert a bass drum to floor tom?
This is music.
@swingnoisedude No.Todd is the meaning of the word ''Drummer''.
@FurlanPaolo Those aren't octobans though...
i appreciate the thought for this practice idea but my drum kit is about a 10th of the size of this one xD
@toddsucherman
there is clear distinction in haveing seperate drums, although i two apreciate simplisiy you can make clear sence in playing seperate drums although sometimes it is un needed, for more patterned rhtyms it can be a asset.All depends on what your doing.but yeah we cant all have 10000 dollar kits so like hey man get out the tin cans metal objects and you can be surprised at what you can come up with.you want a zillion drums then get real good buy working hard like this guy.todd s
isn't that room the dream of any drummer?
It's all good :)
The prototype bell sounds very simple
@nanopola thats an 8 inch...
FUCKING AWESOME!!! ....
They make them by special order now
❤
why 2 dislikes?
this room is disneyland for a drummer
What if you dont have a zillion toms...?
6 inch tom left of the hats i believe???
Taikomaniac Yes
"tasteful" Todd Sucherman!!
His signature snare is technically worth over $4,000, which I find completely mind boggling
Why have I not been told about this guy! My taste in and personality in music reflects more towards him. Geeze!!! Trying too much to absorb heavy metal drummers and this guy isn't really heavy lol and out of all the people, youtube suggested me this guy
@kingcherub Pretty sure they're pearl.
*runs to his drum room to try and imitate this groove on his 4 piece kit*
woooooooooaaaaaaaaa
it's so SHINY.
well i cant afford to have those kits, if i have those in my house practicing 6 hours everyday is no problem
It actually looks like a fake background... It's just to fucking good.
Pearl should mass produce 6" toms--the drumming community would benefit
Yeees
Gene Hoglan + Tim Burton = Todd Sucherman
ohh yeeeh i thought you meant something else
go to the c-section, kids ;)
@frungahr This lesson is only for people with imaginations.
that 6 inch tom made me shit myself...
2 people are are either def or jealous
he said c-section :)
And mike mangini too... js
how drums should sound like...
man why cant i have zillions of dollars to pay for those billions of drums i would love to have a set that bid someone would need to sedate me so i could get food injected into me i would just never leave
ok..now...my turn ....shit
yeah but i dont have 5,000 things haha
C SECTION!!!!!!!!ha
haha C section...
