Very nice video. I noticed one locomotive that was at the yard, D&RGW #5304, had a front end of a GP30 and the rear of an SD40T-2, I would call that a SD30T-2, cool looking too.
hi Jason... love the DDA40X.. much easier if you're not running & recording.. great looking passenger train... won't be long before you see the "Desert Rambler" making it's maiden run.. thanks for sharing.. vinny
I never understood the routes and purpose of a Business train. What do they do? What happens onboard? What is the point of the trip? Notice this train plies the switches of locomotive facilities. Do these trains travel such routes so VIPs can see how the railroad is working up close? I ran such trains on my old N-scale empire. Short distance routes and only as my excuse to run F9's on a contemporary 80's layout, lol!
What Peco Code100 Switches which are RTR do I need to use for DCC? I love the look of the code 100 over the code 83. I want order my track as soon as possible. Thanks. Clayton
Does anyone have the original paperwork on a DD40AX? I purchased one brand new and it wasn’t in the box. I’ve been looking for months with no luck. If someone has it I can provide my email so you can send it so I can download and print. PLEASE if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Bobby Wright
I ordered mine today , and great layout btw, nice running footage :)
I have this locomotive and love it. What I don't have is a layout. Yours is WOW! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I can't take credit for the whole layout though, its a club layout, so lots of people had a hand in it. Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome locomotive and Passenger cars! Love the DDA40X!
Thanks!
That is one extremely large awesome locomotive. We have #6938 on display here at Jenks shop in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Dave! Agreed, the DD40 is just amazing. I got to take a tour of Jenks shop back in the 90s and saw the 6938 then. Glad you enjoyed!
Very cool shots Jason, nicely done good sir. Love all that UP power and the passenger equipment.
Thanks Harry, I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice beautiful layout
Very nice video!! That DDA40X sounds great and looks fantastic! And nice job filming too!
Excellent video! Man in real life those things are freaking monsters! I saw one in front of the North Little Rock yard.
Thank you Bishop. They are total monsters :D I've seen both the 6936 and the one in NLR. So huge...

Thanks. It's actually an SD30T-3. Started as a -2 but I updated it to -3 specs. Totally custom, doesn't exist in the real world. Fun little kitbash.
Cool vid dude. That unit sounds so nice. The varnish looked nice as well
Thanks Spencer. The sound is amazing, and is also the loudest sound equipped unit on the entire layout :D
+Railfan Jason HA! I'm bringing my CR Dash 8 down and we will battle on loudness!! :D
Awesome video!! I like the DDA40X it looks cool.
Thanks! I agree, it's a beast. A really, really cool beast.
Thanks for the view, looks good.

It's all the same track whether it's DC or DCC.
Say Jason, when can you run those SD30T-3s? They look pretty interesting...
very nice op,s run ,, but I am betting that needs some large curves to operate on ,
Thanks. It runs on 22" radius, but the club has a minimum 34", so it'll go anywhere on the layout.
awesome
Thanks!
Awesome
Thanks!
What company makes the cross over junctions seen in the rail yard at the begining of the video?
Those are by Peco. They are double slips.
