    You knowledge in working on the locomotive as actually beginning to frighten me! It's like Dr. Frankenstein creating his railroad monster. Watching you actually repair the undercarriage of this engine makes me think that, when it comes to trains, Young Sheldon is a wuse! I have no idea what you're doing, but it is fascinating to watch (and looking at the baggie of spare parts that you have and comprehending what's inside it, would be akin to me trying to read Latin). By the way, is there actually anything out in the real world that has this long of a body or is this something that just comes out of the deep, dark recesses of your mind?🙂

    • @SMTMainline
      @SMTMainline  8 месяцев назад +32

      Thanks Peter. The most similar diesel locomotive in the real world in terms of length would be Union Pacific's dda40x, which is 98 feet long. If this locomotive was built at 1:1 scale it would be around 150 feet long so its certainly hard to compare to anything else around. It's not realistic but it sure makes for a fun project.

    I like the F series because of its shorter wheelbase compared to later models, so I can use 15 in radius track. But have fun, that's what model railroadin is all about.

    Super. I love your Super Super Chief locomotive. It reminds me of a dual cab Australian locomotive, or the UP double cab turbine, or maybe the Baldwin Babyface dual cab units.💙 T.E.N. Edit: If you add silver foil or silver panels or silver paint along the side of the fuel tank, it would look like one long locomotive, then all you need is a long caboose to make an interesting shelf display. 🙂

      P.S. You might check out an N scale loco called the Cotton Brute that can pull over 300 train cars, filled with depleted uranium. It is two GE U30CGs welded together. 🙂 Also check a comment about that loco I accidentally put in the replys to a comment about "having two Sharks and funny ideas." Cheers. 💙 T.E.N.

    Hey SMT mainline nice video I like how organised you are with your parts bin and finding the part you need. I often do that myself when I’m repairing some my toy buses. I always keep parts ready just in case something breaks or snaps off I think making the trucks pivot would actually help the engine going round the curves. Hopefully you get it going well done on your video always something I look forward to watch. thank you.❤🎉

  • @rishithkunar7907

    Serenity you got it going again I think having the trucks pivot has helped the locomotive a lot when going round the curves I like how you’ve got parts been all organised so you know what part you need for what locomotive? I do the same thing with my toy buses, I always have some spare parts just in case anything breaks or snaps Once again well done great job getting this locomotive going. Thank you for your videos. Always something I look forward to watching.

    Tenshodo's T-Evolution Power Trucks can rotate a full 360° due to their self-contained nature. That is, if they clear the body and you don't use the terminals on the top to collect power from a trailer bogie.
    They're basically entire N-Gauge locomotive drivetrains fully enclosed inside a HO bogie. Designed to motorise static models. You're not likely to find one rattling around in a parts bin though.
