I would like to see a debate on Xenomorph vs bugs from Starship Troopers. I don't know if face-huggers could get those bugs. At the same time, the main force of the warrior bugs would mostly die from the acid fluids. So what is everyones thoughts on this. I do think that the bugs would win. Mostly from more combat ranges from the larger beetles and plasma bugs. Also personally the limits to the face-hugger needing the host. This could shorten the Aliens supply of soldiers. However, I don't want to image the Xenomorph that could come from getting the warrior bugs or let alone the beetle.
I dunno. It'd be a tough fight. Both creatures utilize a variety of different warrior castes. Each suited to their role in combat. I think it will boil down to the bugs ability to generate larger numbers vs xenomorph "intelligence" (cunning). There's just no way to beat the ST bugs in a war of attrition. The bastards are practically born knowing how to kill straight from the egg. The xenos have to go through that incubation/larva stage first. However, I do think the xenos have the upper leg when it comes to "thinking". I think that more than likely these two species would avoid each other in a RL scenario.
It is not just Xenomorph that is intelligence. Those bugs are smarter than you think. Also think of this if the a xenomorph could get the brain bug. What would the bugs do?

The big problem for xenos is that their usual tricks, once so effective against human combatants, won't help as much against the Arachnids. For once, they're facing an enemy that is arguably physically superior to them. Their acid blood will probably just piss the Arachnids off and only the largest and strongest Xeno castes can take them on mono-e-mono. Truthfully my friend, I'd say it could probably go either way. The Xenomorph has been described as the "perfect organism" but it would be going against a species that has crushed every attempt to eradicate it through sheer fury.
I do have a question then. Do you think that the bug host that can take over one's body would work on a Xenomorph. If that the case, they can use one or more to attack the Queen. Also others behind the front line of the bugs waves. Either way, it is interesting match up.

But a problem for the Arachnids is that Xenos constantly change. They change with whatever host they implant their embryos into. Their massive upper mandible and head area is like a giant wedged shield that the bugs can lower to absorb heavy fire and protect their vitals, but they are weak when being hit in the sides or when in a position where they don't lower their guard, like the captured bug Jenkins shoots.
In the animated series the Warrior Bug was able to survive on various different planets that had a various different environments and atmospheres(or lack of an atmosphere). Of course the series also had a bunch of other kinds of bugs, some of them pretty awesome, and if the series was available I would kind of wish an exploration of the bugs featured in it.
They are very good at blaming someone else for their failings. From Hillary losing the election to lying about Vietnam. The USA did NOT lose the Vietnam War and major US involvement started under a Democrat. It was LBJ and the Democrats war, not the Republicans.

I give the bug the advantage based on weapons and size. Xenomorph has awesome tail, great mouths projection, claws. IMO they're all maybe small to do much damage to a much bigger bug. Acid is for defense, but if the bug big pointy leg pieces through it, it will die from massive wound, even though the leg would be destroyed. The bug can still function on 3 legs. The bug mouth is too big, one bite it will shear the Xenomorph in 1/2 and both would die, but depends on where is the bite. In Predator vs Aliens 2, the predator cut its head in 1/2 and no blood was oozing out. The bug is just ferocious and attack with abandon with no regard for its own safety. Xenomorph is about 7-8ft tall, the bug is about 15ft,, that tall size with the long pointy legs as defense as well as offense, I don't how a xenomorph can swing it tail far enough for a kill shot. It takes more than 4 soldiers firing as fast as they can to kill 1 bug, so even one hit from the tail won't kill it. The bug has 2 smaller legs near it mouth for close up attack too
I'll tell you one thing when it comes to mass amounts enemies troops coming at you, the Arachnids really did it for me, facing them in combat... would literally be Hell more than regular combat.

But then I saw Alien, and my favorite mass producing alien changed to the iconic Alien. Not the four legged, screeching ant that is controlled by giant, easy to hit control bugs. Also in the third live action movie; the Federation creates a flipping Exterminatus weapon, mech suits, and permits the formation of religion. Basically they turned into warhammer 40k. And I'd rather delve into that universe than watch more of their lowbudget movies. Although the animated one still kicks ass.
With the technology we have, why has nobody attempted to make a modern Starship Troopers video-game? I haven't read any of the books, but I do love the original film. Perhaps the single-player can be a bit more story driven, with different campaigns depending on which military branch you choose, and incorporates a well mixed blend of the books and movies. Decision making and a vast amount of characters along with a compelling narrative would really be awesome. Then multiplayer would just be pure cooperative combat, whether its twelve players in a simple yet complex horde mode, or some kind of voyaging type mission, plus full character customization, that's a lot of variety to work with.
You should be pointing out the differences between the movie, which was shit, and the book. Other then the names of people the technologies and tactics are completely different.
Evangelica De Alfaro In the novel it is explained that the Federation was waging a war with an alien species referred to as the Skinnies before either forming an alliance with them against the bugs or conquering and conscripting them. They are shown in the old CGI Starship Troopers cartoon, but I would not recommend it as it was subpar at the time and has not aged well.
I always failed to understand why the bugs didn't climb down into the fort from behind rather than attack the wall. And I always failed to understand why the troopers don't use American tactics and bomb the fuck out of the surface before starting scouting, and bombing it again a week later before sending in troops. XD

Just throwing this down, the xenomorphs would lose hard. the bugs have numbers, Diversity, space travel, artillery, and much more. while the Xenos heavily rely on their ability to sneak and piggyback off of its prey. as I recall the bugs don't care about sneaking, but their damn good at it if they need to be. The argument falls under DC vs Marvel, 40k vs StarCraft ext... Xenos would be marvel with semi realistic or grounded reality. while these buggers fall under DC 40k logic of being the overpowering entity. Who would win? North Korea or NATO.
The thing I never figured out it why the federation even bothered sending in the MI to ugly planets like klendathu with no strategic value or resources. Why didn't they just continuously nuke it from high orbit obliterating a entire bug planet and causing no human casualties? Then again I suppose that wouldn't make a good film! lol

In the novel it is explained that the Federation was waging a war with an alien species referred to as the Skinnies before either forming an alliance with them against the bugs or conquering and conscripting them. They are shown in the old CGI Starship Troopers cartoon, but I would not recommend it as it was subpar at the time and has not aged well.

I always failed to understand why the bugs didn't climb down into the fort from behind rather than attack the wall. And I always failed to understand why the troopers don't use American tactics and bomb the fuck out of the surface before starting scouting, and bombing it again a week later before sending in troops. XD

Just throwing this down, the xenomorphs would lose hard. the bugs have numbers, Diversity, space travel, artillery, and much more. while the Xenos heavily rely on their ability to sneak and piggyback off of its prey. as I recall the bugs don't care about sneaking, but their damn good at it if they need to be.
The argument falls under DC vs Marvel, 40k vs StarCraft ext... Xenos would be marvel with semi realistic or grounded reality. while these buggers fall under DC 40k logic of being the overpowering entity.
Who would win? North Korea or NATO.

The thing I never figured out it why the federation even bothered sending in the MI to ugly planets like klendathu with no strategic value or resources. Why didn't they
just continuously nuke it from high orbit obliterating a entire bug planet and causing no human casualties? Then again I suppose that wouldn't make a good film! lol
