Yikes! A mortar emplacement in range of the gunship facility was infuriating just to watch, lol. Lately, I've been running more AMR/AC because of the gunships. Laser cannon's also a very efficient option against them, but I'll have to practice with it more against other types of units.
Yeah, I love experimenting, but when I need to clutch up nothing beats the AMR and AC for bots imo. Having a little more success with the Lascannon but still feels a little awkward to me! Gotta git gud...
I've recently started taking 110mm rocket pods, instead of orbital railgun. I found I was mostly using it for tanks and towers anyway, which the 110's make short work of with a shorter cooldown. Multiple eagle callins was something I had to learn to adjust for though.
Yeah, they're really nice for bots! Maybe less reliable for hulks but your support weapon usually has those handled. I brought this one just for the railgun theme, but otherwise eagle pods are better value imo.
This video made me try the Dominator against bots and now it is my favorite! I usually run scorcher + amr, but dominator seems better for me. The scorcher is superior at dealing with striders, but if you use the AMR or AC, thats not a problem. The dominator on the other hand, makes killing bersekers light work, and i hate bersekers. And may be my aim, but sometimes is easier to kill Heavy devastator with the dominator than the AMR, because of the stagger. As a mainly solo player it was a game changer for me, thanks Spiked!
Glad you found a new primary! The stagger is really useful yeah, you need a bit better aim since you can't just hit enemies through their shield, but the stagger can really save you / your teammate's bacon.
Im halfway trough the video and you shot the railgun like five times. That speaks volumes about the state of the weapon for me, cant see what it can do that the AMR can’t. 😢
Tbf, I think I could say the same for a lot of support weapons that aren't the AC or AMR - some of them you only bring out when the Hulks arrive. I get some nice Hulk kills later on at least :P. Vs the AMR, for bots? Not much really, it can one shot Hulks and Scout Striders but the AMR can get its 2-shot / 3-shots in about the same time, and AMR you can feel freer to use vs small enemies. I think if the Railgun could penetrate Heavy Devastator Shields when unsafe, it would see a lot more use again vs the Bots, so AMR is the finesse option, Railgun is the brute force one. Think you can also engage certain targets frontally that the AMR can't, but honestly haven't experimented too much on that front, usually I use my strats first for the heaviest targets.
@@newspiked7385some people just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that it’s called a “support weapon” for a reason, and just because it doesn’t trivialize every enemy type in the game doesn’t mean it’s somehow bad or needs a buff. If everything in the game was good at the same things, then the game would be boring
@@The-Caged-King It is less about trivializing the game and more making it feel distinct in taking it. Spear for example has the lock on issue which while it has been tweaked is still tempermental, can one shot turrets and fabricators from a distance allowing map clear from another OBJ. Railgun has its downsides but no real upside to make it feel worth bringing over other options. AMR can 2 shot, but you have to be precise; AC is versatile but cant pierce heavy armor and sacrifices a backpack. Railgun can be tweaked to fit a role similar to AMR, but be a sidegrade; similar to RR,EAT, and Quasar. Especially considering it being able to 1-2 shot bile titans was a Playstation bug which has since been fixed. IMO itd be best to revert nerfs to railgun and work from there without it being artifically boosted by a bug. Same to arc thrower.
If a person with a supply pack resupplies another person with a supply pack, does the supplied pack get refilled? Because that’s effectively just resupply duping if it works.
spiked, have you used the EMS mortar much? i bring it on nearly every bot mission, though it really shines on geological survey missions where you have to fight off waves of enemies at the objective.
I use it a lot for defence bot missions where you're in place for a while, and yeah geo missions are good for them too. I don't usually bring them for other missions though, wanted to try placing them outside a base and moving in but they don't always target the guys on the base.
It feels like the Dominator struggles in close firefights, low volume of fire and bad handling make it punishing to miss your first shot sometimes. The damage is great but vs shielded Devastators in particular it seems to take a whole clip most of the time when under pressure.
Yeah, it can be a little tricky with its slower aim speed, but the biggest perk is its stagger. Could definitely do it in fewer shots if I just aimed for the head, but stunlocking them to death can be easier.
These gunship plants are so infuriating imo. Not only can the ships themselves easily spot and summon bot drops but you also gotta place hellbombs and pray that they do nt get destroyed because due to their detection range you can not defend them, if you try youo l lget blown up by a hellbomb and loose all your stuff because now botdrops or patrols are coming. Why not just make it so it can be destroyed by orbital strikes or 500KG or at the very least something like 380 barrage???
Aight, here’s some advice. First, the gunships don’t call drops, they alert ground troops which call drops. Try baiting a bot drop in the opposite direction before you rush into the facility, or initiate conflict at the very edge of the gunship spawn range (around 175m) so the little guys haven’t spawned in yet and then rush the facility before more ships spawn to prevent any drops. Second, the ships are not omnipotent, but they come out of the fabricator in the alerted state. You can lose them with cover and smoke or a sufficiently loud teammate. As for defending the hellbomb, calling a shield relay down next to the bomb can usually defend it long enough for it to detonate. Alternatively, calling down smoke on top of the bomb (make sure the smoke lands first because the smoke shells can break the bomb) will fully conceal it, meaning the bomb will only be destroyed if it gets hit by crossfire. Just make sure that at least one person in your squad is able to bring them down quickly (2 if you have 4 people) and have them worry about being AA. Kill the ships fast, have the drop on cooldown, blitz the facility as quickly as possible, and conceal or shield the bomb and the ships become pretty easy. Oh, and make sure you find the facility before it finds you.
I think the main reason was, they saw how Shrieker Nests were getting bypassed by players just sniping them from out of range or chucking strikes in to delete them quickly. I think it's nice that the Gunship plants require you to push in and plant a Hellbomb, but I do find the instant detection by the gunships kinda annoying - would be cool if instead they patrolled and their searchlights were like mini detector towers to avoid.
that illuminate spy blocked you good at the extract, holy moly
Those damn wallers are invisible now!
The autocannon doesn't need to hit the vents for the anti air or the mortars just shoot them and they are done in 3-4 shots
Good to know!
Same thing with the AMR, just dump 6 shots into that thing and it's gone *BOOM*
@@jeremilewandowski9279

@ItzSpritz yeah, I'm not sure about exactly 6 shits , but it for sure works.
