- OverDrive begins with recap of the NFL action from the weekend including a breakdown of the Chiefs Sunday night win over the Falcons. Later the guys discuss Max Pacioretty’s performance in his first game as a Maple Leaf. The first hour wraps up with a discussion about the Raptors decision to retire Vince Carter’s number.
Trying to find the video topic , I’m 35 minutes in so far and haven’t heard anything on the Carter retirement
Found it at 43:25
Thanks for the timestamp. Hayes is INSANE thinking it's absurd that the Raptors are retiring Carter's number. Shows he was never a Raps fan back when VC was on the team. Things ended badly but the bad return the team got back for Carter should be blamed on Raps GM at the time Rob Babcock imo. Looking forward to VC going into the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame as a Raptor. Equally I'm looking forward to the Raptors retiring VC's #15.
I retired at age 53, so I am in my early 60s. Many of them resisted me because they couldn't understand the idea of not working if it wasn't necessary. I considered the phases of my life. I worked very hard to achieve what I have now, but in my last years, I owe it to myself to "stop and smell the roses." In my instance, I departed the nation after retiring and currently reside in Latin America. It made it possible for me to appreciate my new surroundings while escaping all the bad things that were going on in America. Nobody that I know of regrets retiring has yet to come to me.
Nice way to retire. For me, I believe retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My wife and I both spent same number of years in the civil service, she invested through a wealth manager and myself through the 401k. We both still earning after our retirement fund has grown way more than it would have with just the 401(k). Haha.
It's unfortunate most people don't have such information. I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than a million dollars by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Doesn't matter if the economy is misbehaving; great wealth managers will always make returns.
I think this is something I should do, but I've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same but it seems you’ve got it all worked out with the firm you work with so i surely wouldn’t mind a recommendation.
I definitely share your sentiment about these firms. Finding financial advisors like *Layan Talia Chokr* who can assist you shape your portfolio would be a very creative option. There will be difficult times ahead, and prudent personal money management will be essential to navigating them.
Thank you for this Pointer. It was easy to find your handler, She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her.
About time. Class act by the Toronto Raptors organization! Much respect to Masai and Larry Tannenbaum.
I believe Vince helped basketball in canada become what it is today. Would canada have a national team as good as they are if Vince didn't go to toronto? He built courts around Toronto and the youth grew up idolizing him.
Correction Moronic Hayes, the franchise failed VC with their extremely questionable choices for hire in that organization. VC was the reason why you still have a Canadian basketball team. You would have the same situation as the Grizzlies without VC
Facts. Also blame Rob Babcock on the crappy return he got back.
YES. As a Raptors fan from day 1 YES. VC was must watch tv let alone must watch 🏀.VC's impact on basketball in Canada was and is MASSIVE. The greatest in game dunker of all time played for the Raptors. Vince Carter was the Raptors first SUPERSTAR. Hayes 🖕Stick to things you know about like hockey.
The problem with Hayes and for some is that their Raptors fandom which likely started in 03, rooted in hating Carter rather than true love for the team, due to a media smear campaign. Now, their shaky foundation of their fanhood is being exposed. Compare that with Nav Bhatia who was there since day 1 and is Carter’s biggest fan and called him the true GROAT when Carter made the hall of fame.
Yes, yes yes finally a number. Congratulations, my man. Love you so so much congratulations on the Hall of Fame and the nets number too
Vince made Canada care about basketball. Without him, we don't have guys like Shai and RJ representing our country. Hate the way he left in '04 all you want, I'm sure he regrets it too.
15, 7 and 10 all deserve to be retired by the Raptors.
That the best thing raptors have done!! Everyone blames VC for what happend but it was Rob Babcok who caused the whole mess in the first place with his ego problems!!
Hayes talking about the prestige of retired jerseys when he called the Hall of Fame a "hall with some plaques in it." Lmao
better vision is like 30/20 at 30 feet you can see what people see at 20. 10/20 you have to be 10 feet away to see what people see at 20 feet.
If you're a Raptors fan and you still have hard feelings over Vince Carter I feel bad for you.
Kawhi deserve to have his jersey on the rafters
Yes I think so too as well still tho fo realz even though he was only here for 1 year tho so yeah.😊
@@julianbartley7766 yeah but his one year is worth like he been there for 12 seasons lol
One of the rare times I agree with Hayes on something Raptors related.
Hayes is not a fraud, I repeat Hayes is a fraud.
No they should not be!!!
