- Hour 3 begins with a breakdown of the Maple Leafs preseason debut and the guys are joined by TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston and they discuss the debut of Max Pacioretty in a Leafs uniform. Later TSN Football Insider Dave Naylor joins the show to preview the 2 Monday night football games.

This team,pre season or not didn’t show me anything different, sloppy defense,(OT goal was a joke).Similar to season knock out goal game 7 last year.A. Thnd why is Murray on this team.preseason or not the Leaf need to come out showing toughness to send a message and they where playing a watered down Ottawa team. Not impressed.
Nope. That’s not possible. Standings and results may not change in the end but when you change your coach a lot changes. For example Nylander playing center. So you’re already wrong.

@@brutzese1968 If you can believe it, I have seen the Leafs win 4 Stanley Cups which probably 98% of existing fans can’t say. Except for 1993 when a non call by Fraser cost the Leafs a chance at a Stanley Cup final against Montreal, which would have been one of the great playoff series ever. It was tough to think positive about the legitimacy hockey for quite a while. The result is not even a sniff of a Cup for 60+ years A lot of the early blame for not winning was Harold Ballard who since 1967 destroyed the team.
Move to the modern era, of 30.+ teams, in any given year there are 5-8 teams way better than the Leafs. The last 8 + years have been a joke in the playoffs, the 2 blow out with Boston and the implosion against Montreal ( was frozen for a week after that one). ,the rest of the years nothin. If you made a list of all the players / coaches t on a Leatthat have been on the Leaf roster over the last 20 years and no Cup. It is like when you come to Toronto and put on a Leaf uniform you forget.
how to play hockey. Because of age, FA,RFA In todays game you have 2-4 years
to get the right gel of players together to make a run at the Cup.
I am 77 and the Leafs will not win another Cup in the rest of my lifetime.
This year they will finish 3rd in their division and will lose to either Tampa, Boston or Florida in the. First round.

I agree. And I've always watched him and noticed he never plays his position in the offensive zone.
He skates round and round and seems to confuse the guy actually playing center.
I think that's why he's seldom with 34. Because 34 gets annoyed
It's his defensive side I'm worried about. Willy has a tendency to float at times and you can't do that as a Center
The reason he doesn’t already play center was his defensive play at pro level and he lose a lot of his breakaways flying down the wing
It is always great when owners interact with fans and the media, as happened with Geoff Molson as you guys describe. There is too little owner interaction in the league with others, in public or in private. Ted Leonsis (Capitals) is a good example of an owner who works fulltime as owner and answers fan email directly, takes input / criticism seriously and usually has a behind the scenes story to tell that fans generally would not know. Gotta have tough skin as an owner and there are too many corporate suits or owners who simply hide.
Nylander should be on the wing, Tavares is a 1a/1b centre. Holmberg is a good enough centre to be on line 3, with Kampfe is good enough for the 4th line. It's pro hockey.
I moved to Europe after that 2013 debacle... Nothing changes with this team, ever! Its just fun to see the media cashing in on crap news surrounding a crap team. Its a cash cow, and this is all it will ever be.
Toronto always loses the Senators Stanley Cup..... pre-season or after the Sens get eliminated from playoff contention...... the Leafs lose and Sens fans pour into the streets in jubilation!! Guaranteed lose to Toronto.
Bottomline is players must bleed blue and white, simple thing, mindset, effort for every game. Can't do that then it's bench, minors or waived or traded. Simple.
Reilly looked slow and overweight, I want to know how many players put on weight over the off season, think that’s one of the hardest things as a athlete not eating what ever the hell u want during off season, saying that how the heck did Hot Dog Phil have that iron man streak 🤔🤷♂️🤪

My way too early feedback: Patches looked revitalized and great with JT, not sure what OEL was doing on the 4th(?) goal.... looked like his controller disconnected, Tanev is a pure upgrade over Brodie, Grebenkin could be a nice addition, Liljegren looked like a 7th dman, I want to see more Cade Webber and had no idea Quillan played.
If I saw O in public I would ask him why he didn’t double check to see if the mic was still on when he asked “is there ketchup on that” 😅

I'll need to see MORE pre-season line combinations... but my gut instinct tells me opening night will be:
Knies - Matthews - Marner
Pacioretti - Nylander - Domi
McMann/Holmberg - Tavares - Jarnkrok
Lorentz - Kampf - Reaves/Dewar
* Although these options will change to get cap compliant, I like our 3rd line!
** It's so disturbing we can't dump Nylander for a better goalie (top 2 lines with Robertson/Knies on LW, and Marner/Domi on RW is impressive if only they'd give it a chance!!)
*** I'm hoping Robertson gets traded to a better situation (rather than platooned on 3rd & 4th lines)

@@Redz1991 ahead of who on the top 3 lines though? Jarnkrok? McMann? Domi? Holmberg? Patches? Cowan? Dewar? Grebenkin? Lorentz? Minten? (He'd better be ahead of Reaves!) There's no room for Robertson to play where he NEEDS to play to be himself... he's an NHL 2nd line winger (3rd line at worst) who's been treated so poorly by Keefe, JFJ, & Treliving it's crazy.
