I don't think $255 (avg price) is too horrible. Ball bearings and a ball diff are pretty nice upgrades for that price point. The Kyosho Turbo Scorpian is in that price range.
@@BasBoyRC I always forget that other places have other prices. I'm sorry. That is a lot of money, for sure. I don't think I would have bought it had it been $300 plus.

I saw those prices when I was searching for the BBX. Seems the UK had them before Canada. But when I saw that price tag, I was happy to wait until they got here. I suppose you could probably order it from the eastern side of Canada and have it shipped to UK, and save a few $$$?
Thx for this video it gave me inspiration on how to paint my new bbx… Since the lexan is flexible and TS paint is supposedly not flexible did you ever experience the TS cracking or chipping because of the body flexing?
I sprayed adhesion promoter first, so the Tas paint is sticking and flexing just as a PS would. You can also spray PS clear first, then TS and it'll stick. 👍🏻

Yeah, the fact that it resembles the super champ, a buggy i lusted over as a 13yr old has just sold it for me. Thanks, dude! I'm with ya on the tire lettering. Especially on a truck, it just looks so good! 👌
Loving everything about it !! Great job....BTW, new microphone sounds ok. It seems to filter out too much base in your voice
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! 👊🏼
That look brilliant 😍definitely have to get one eventually!
Thanks, dude! You'll love it! ❤️
I love the look of the BBX, what puts me off is the price for a 2WD Buggy.
I don't think $255 (avg price) is too horrible. Ball bearings and a ball diff are pretty nice upgrades for that price point. The Kyosho Turbo Scorpian is in that price range.
@@PsychoticBovine £319 in the UK that is a lot retail price £379.99.
@@BasBoyRC I always forget that other places have other prices. I'm sorry. That is a lot of money, for sure. I don't think I would have bought it had it been $300 plus.
@@PsychoticBovine No reason to be sorry, just shows how we are screwed in the UK. Shame they did not do a budget version, not all the upgrades are needed. A DT-03 nice and only £114
I saw those prices when I was searching for the BBX. Seems the UK had them before Canada. But when I saw that price tag, I was happy to wait until they got here. I suppose you could probably order it from the eastern side of Canada and have it shipped to UK, and save a few $$$?
That looks amazing!!!!! Sweet work!!
Thanks, brutha! 🍻
Looks great! Appreciate the dechromed/black rims - makes it look much like a toy.
Thanks!
Another way to make them look less toy like is satin clear over the chrome
I love the look of your car, I can’t tell how you mounted the esc . It looks roomier. How did you do that?
Right on, glad you like my BBX. It's the best buggy Tamiya had come out with in some time!
As for the esc, I made a full video on the brushless upgrade. This should answer your questions: ruclips.net/video/vWEIHjyR3_Q/видео.html
The TA06 gear diff works as well
Nice, good to know! 👊🏼
Hi...first of all congrats for your work, awesome. Can you share product used for make it? I d like to paint mine exactly as yours..in particular could you share product for de chrome wheels and exact type of sharpie markers? Thank you sir!
Thanks for watching. You can find all the paint information in this video here: ruclips.net/video/RDra3jw3lJ0/видео.html

Looks absolutely amazing love you didn't go box art sooooooooo much better
Thanks, brother! I was thrilled with how this one turned out! Thanks for watching! 👊🏼
Love it! Awesome color combo!
Thank you. 🍻
@poorboysrc you're welcome. BTW I'm thinking about joining your Tamiya speed run challenge. I'm just trying to find the time.
@@allscalerc That would be sweet, dude. Contest is open until Sept 30, so there's still plenty of time. I'll be doing another one next year as well.
Awesome buggy, looks similar to the Fast Attack.
Thanks, pal. Yeah it definitely does look like the Fast Attack, doesn't it? Put a couple guns and a shark mouth on it, and we're set. 😉👊🏼
@poorboysrc have you checked out the 1/16 Pinecone SG 1612 or the WPL WP-14, both are same just different makers if you ask me 🤔. Well that rc also looks like the Fast Attack. I have one, and full album is in my channel 👌. I'd like for you to check it out and tell me what you think 🤔. It's 230 videos step by step of my work 😲. Just check out the last 20 or so when you get a check 👌. Thanks in advance 👌🙏🤙
love it im in the middle of my build and like you it isnt boxart
Wicked, dude! Enjoy the build! No weird surprises to warn you about on this one. It's silky smooth! 👊🏼
I think you knocked the look out of the park! Does the light kit install into the stock light buckets? Got a brand for the light kit?
Thanks, dude. And yes, the light kit installed into the stock lights on stock mounting locations. The build manual gives you the option of adding the lights, or not. As for my light kit, it was a cheapy I grabbed on Amazon like, 2 years ago. Lol! 👊🏼
@@poorboysrc I might just get some 5mm 6v leds and make my own harness. Electrical stuff is the one thing I am fairly decent at!
@@PsychoticBovine that's a good idea, especially if you're handy with that stuff. 👊🏼
You nailed it! This is the best BBX custom design I have seen so far! Do you mind if I copy? ;-)
Thanks dude! Glad you like the design so much! Tell ya what, hit that like button and subscribe, and the design is all yours! And if you have any questions, you can shoot me an email @ poorboysrc78@gmail.com- Deal? 😁👊🏼🍻
Wow love it i think the paint makes it look old school 👌👍
Thanks, pal! 🍻
Hello from France, i have just bought my bbx and i would like to install system led but how to do it? Have you a tutorial and the equipment you used please? Thx a lot. Regards
Bonjour from Canada, and thanks for watching my show. I haven't made a tutorial for the light I stall but it's very simple. Here's a link to the lights I used:
ShareGoo 4Leds LED Light Headlights Taillight Kit Accessories for Traxxas HSP Tamiya Redcat RC4WD Axial SCX10 RC Car Truck Tank Crawler(2 Red +2 White) a.co/d/amhdjpo
Just plug the lights into your receiver and the lights come on when you turn the buggy on. Easy peasy! Let me know if you have any more questions! 👊🏼
Great Video! Do you remember the name of the prep product you've used before the ts paint on the body?
It's not available on the market anymore, so I recommend just using Tamiya PS clear first, then you can spray TS as it'll stick to the clear. 🍻👊🏼
@@poorboysrc I found an automotive product called dupli-color clear automotive primer, may be is the same thing.
@@ioskaioska5166 the stuff I used wasn't a primer, it was adhesion promoter. I've never used the clear primer before, so I don't have any feedback unfortunately. 😕
Looks awesome 🤩
Thanks, dude! 🍻
Great colours 👌
Thanks!
great paint, great build.
Thank you for watching! 👊🏼
That does look awesome
Thanks, dude. 🍻
Great job!
Thanks pal! 👊🏼
hey Fil totally dig the bbx dude really cool tbh , cant wait for that running footage ,btw hope those motors arrive soon cheers bud stay well be happy
Thanks, Andrew. I'm hoping to have the running vid set to air next week some time. And thanks again for the motors! 👊🏼
I have a 3.5t tamiya transpeed motor looking for a home ! Not sure if the ball diff would cope though.
I havnt bought a tamiya kit in almost a fortnight....i'm starting to get the hot n cold sweats 🙈
I think that motor would turn that ball diff into a pile of molten Tamiya tastiness. Hahahaha. It's an amazing buggy though, I can't say enough good things about it. You're gonna love it!
Yeah, the fact that it resembles the super champ, a buggy i lusted over as a 13yr old has just sold it for me. I did get the champ when it was re-released in 2014 as there was no chance of it happening in the early 80's.
We were so poor back then we used to go to KFC and lick other peoples fingers 😁
@@johnjosey5184 haha, I hear that dude. We were so poor we couldn't pay attention, lol! But I think it's a blessing in disguise, now getting to really enjoy these RC's as adults is arguably more enjoyable than it would have been as a kid.
BBX is the bomb👍
Yes sir, she sure is! 💣 💣 💣
Nice Job!
Thanks, dude!
Looks great!
Thanks man!
Thanks for sharing your tips n tricks mate😁👌🦘🇦🇺
You're welcome, my friend. 🍻
I've just built my BB01 using a 13.5T Brushless motor and ESC but if I floor the throttle from stationary the car crawls forward, but if I ease into the throttle it picks up speed fine. Any ideas?
Hmmmm, could be a couple things: Shoot me an email over @ poorboysrc78@gmail.com and I'll see if I can help! 👊🏼
I am not a buggy fan, but this one looks great 👍👍👍
Thanks, dude! 🍻
How did you black the cage? Paint or dye?
Cage is 100% stock, I didn't change anything. 👊🏼
What kind of paint can be used to paint the frame/cage? Same PS paint?
I'd use PS on the cage, it's got good adhesion properties. If you have it, you could use some adhesion promoter first to ensure the best adhesion.
bonjour, auriez vous un lien amazon pour les Sharpie , merci 😊
It's been 35 years since i had my Falcon and the look of this buggy makes me want to buy one and put it in a display cabinet.. is that weird? Just wanting to build these kits and hang 'em on a wall?
Not weird at all, man. I've got several Tamiya's that I've done that with. Some of these are real rolling pieces of art, that, in my opinion, belong on the wall the be enjoyed. 👊🏼
@poorboysrc ya, it's like I'd want one cheap one to beat up on and the rest to put on display. I just wish i didn't throw out my falcon when i moved 8 years ago. Could have restored it..
@@mrdavester You can still find them online in reasonable condition. I have one on my shelf that's near mint condition. But I don't drive it, just enjoy the 80's styling. Lol!
@poorboysrc hoping for a re-release. But wouldn't it be nice if they came out with 1/24 mini versions for all the collectors? Like the nintendo mini
@@mrdavester A re-re would be sweet. Hopefully it's on Tamiya's radar to make one.
Nailed it!
Thanks! 👊🏼
I love it and I have subscribed to your channel
Awesome, welcome aboard! 👊🏼
What low profile steering servo was used?
Just a cheapy Amazon special, 25kg waterproof. It's a little slow, but I don't mind. The price point is unbeatable. 👍🏻
G'day mate yeah your BBX is hot 🔥
Gracias, amigo!
BBX speed run challenge!
Hahaha not a bad idea! 🤣
@@poorboysrc only pinion/spur and motor changes. Have to run everything else box stock.

Is that you playing the guitar brah? 🎸
Haha, i wish! Harness my inner Dave Mustaine! 🤣

What light kit is that please?
Just a cheapie off Amazon.
