One of my brothers and his wife raise show chickens, they told me that if they want their chickens tolay they mix 1 tablespoon of crushed red chili pepper flakes in with their feed or scatter a cup of it out on the ground if they are scattering it out on the ground like scattering scratch.
Well actually this video was recorded about a month-and-a-half ago for our One Year on a Farm series. But we definitely had a really cold winter. That Blows my mind that you guys are getting that much snow where you live. Hope it warms up soon :-). Thanks for watching
Congrats on your shed delivery Breakfast of champions for sure👍 In late fall early winter when my hens really slow down on production I always take them off of layer and start increasingly add healthy fats like black oil sunflower seeds,other seeds natural to their diet. Then when temps ramp up and production starts again I start taking away fats and adding the layer. Some of my hens are 5 years old and still producing. Even in winter we are never out of eggs. It's our weight management program 😉 Love the video

We (Cheyenne, WY) are cold to. 28 deg, but 14 with wind chill. Just had 48 hr snow storm to, about 4" on the ground. Warming up this weekend.
