This begonia bug is serious and highly catching 😂 Sooo many gorgeous babies! 😍 And oh my, can't wait for your plant tour, you have some amazing plants behind you too 😍😍😍🌿🌱
Some beauties you have Emma! Love that you know about each individual one too, that is dedication! Loved the Begonia video, I too am obsessed with them currently! Thanks for the Begonia binge!
These are fantastic! My current favorites are my Ricinifolia that I started from a leaf prop and my Melanobullata that was a gift. I'm in love with them all, though :)
Commenting as I watch... I also thought the B bowerii you showed was Little Darling. A pretty reliable plant friend sent me a small cutting a few years ago as Little Darling. My leaves look very different when they are new and darken like yours when they are older. Agree the Wollnyii is a great specimen and I love it for the woody stem. A great video Emma... begonia are my favourite species too so I share your passion (although I don't have 34 yet!).
I'm a begonia lover too. I can't resist buying them because they are so interesting. I'm on an email list for a small grower and they send me a message when they release one that is on my wishlist. I have to buy it quickly because minutes later it could be sold. Which feeds my need to buy them before someone else does
Hehehe I know that feeling very well! I had the same with the Hoehneana from Dibleys... And inevitably I 'had' to buy more to make the postage worth it!
@@emma.greenwood yes, you totally get it. I order at least 4 at a time to justify the shipping.😉

To me Begonia's have the best variety of leaves than any other plant. Here is another plant that I can do well with at the beginning and then it goes so wrong. Steve's Leaves has so many begonia options. Not sure if you know about that site and if they ship out of the states, if so, you will go begonia crazy. With 34 of them already, you might have most of them already. That 2nd begonia is so unique regarding their stems. The 4th one has such beautiful dark leaves and the leaf texture looks so (OMG)!! The 6th one in the vase is such a cute decor idea (a little bias since I do this too lol). Really like that vase. I'm heading to home goods tomorrow so I will search this one out b/c I really like it and love how the plant looks in there. QUESTION: Do you have a problem with the humidity levels for your begonias? I am waiting to purchase more of them (along with calatheas) b/c of that factor. I have purchased a few vases to help with that and it helps, only issue is space. Then I'm limited on where I can put the vase. PPP = Plant Parenting Problems! All of your begonias are really nice! Great choices.
Hahaha I love that - PPP indeed!! I admit I have ogled Steve's Leaves more than once.. They have an incredible Begonia selection!! I don't think they ship overseas sadly though. To be honest I haven't had any huge issues with humidity for my begonias. I think my main issues come from getting the watering right - the only other two issues I have had are bacterial leaf spot (nightmare!) and some baby begonias died as I put them in a 90% humidity tank with very little airflow which they did not like. Otherwise, the humidity doesn't seem to be an issue, but if you live in a very dry climate it's probably worth investing in a humidifier or a mist-sprayer! Thanks so much for commenting! ❤️
Yeah they can be quite sensitive!! What begonia(s) do you have, and what are they potted in? I personally tend to let the dry out til they wilt slightly, before watering them 😊
I'm not sure either what begonia it is, I think it is a philippine local begonia of beefsteak in a maroon-y red color. I planted it in potting mix of garden soil, coconut husk, rice husk and pumice.
@@moonlover6827 if it's a beefsteak-type begonia you might do best treating it a bit like a succulent, or like a Hoya, - only water it when it starts to droop? But it's hard to tell what problem you may be having without knowing the environment you are keeping it in ☹️ sorry!
@@emma.greenwood i keep it in indirect sunlight. If it's to treat like a succulent I might be overwatering it :( thank you for the advice 😊 also, are begonia's leaves not supposed to get wet when you water them?? Maybe it's also one of my mistake 🤔🤔

Thanks Jerry!! I am trying to get to know my plants a bit better 😂😂 Begonia are amazing aren't they. I don't know why they don't get more hype 😬

I got so excited just by reading this title 😅
Hehehe!! Begonias are great aren't they! 😍
Begonia thurstonii‘s parents are Metallica x sanguinea :-) very nice begonias, thank you for sharing!
Oh amazing, thanks so much!! ❤️ I have been scouring the Internet and found nothing, but that makes a lot of sense!
I found it in a book :-)
Aha!! Excellent, thanks!! 😊😊
I think the begonia bowrae in your video is begonia mazae nigricans 😊
I agree with you!! Thank you!!
Are begonias sensitive plants? Mine's stem dries up even if the leaf is still ok. :(
