Now hand washing is basic hygiene for everyone.
While I admit the story is pretty flimsy, I don't think "How come we don't have teleportation tech now?" is a valid rebuttal. If there was any truth to the horrific effects of the test (sailors dismembered, fused with the ship's steel, etc), it may have been reason enough for the military to deem the whole thing too unreliable and too dangerous to pursue further. Teleporting Naval ships wouldn't be of much use in a battle if it kills have the crew in the process..

One thing about the Philadelphia Experiment that never made sense to me is that every version of this story I have heard begins by claiming the intention was to make ships radar invisible to protect them from German U-boats. Uboats like all WWII submarines track other ships by sonar. They used sound to track the ships, not radar. Making it radar invisible or even sight invisible would not make it safe from sonar.
@@kevinlu1555 I think you misunderstood my comment, which is probably my fault. I'll try to be more clear this time. Ha. Sonar is used under water by submarines and it can detect other sounds under water, including the propellers of ships like the Eldridge which has its propulsion propellers below the waterline of the ship. Which was my point. If the Philadelphia experiment was intended to make surface ships invisible to radar, it would still be vulnerable to submarines that did not rely on radar, but on sonar. In other words, the German U-boats would still be able to detect the enemy ships through sonar, even if the ship was able to block its radar image. Yet, it is heavily implied in the beginning of this video that the experiment was designed to make surface ships invisible to radar because german submarines were sinking so many of them, which would make no sense because submarines used sonar, not radar.
The point was to make the ship “invisible” to very destructive mines and torpedoes, which were triggered by/attracted to the magnetic field of the giant steel hulls of these ships

I wrote a RPG adventure based on the Philadelphia experiment, except in my story the USS Eldridge was teleported out of earth's gravity well and never came back. It would be discovered by the players in the game 200 years later on an asteroid. It would later serve as the basis for FTL in a space opera sci fi story.
4:35 I feel like some clarification is needed here. A "theory" in science does not have the same meaning as it does when used in everyday conversation. The everyday definition refers to a hypothesis, however a "theory" in science is a framework strongly supported by evidence that explains an observed phenomena. Theory of Evolution, Theory of Gravity, Big Bang Theory, etc. So it's disingenuous to write it off as, "just a theory," because in science a theory is not an unproven possibility.
The experiment was about degaussing the steel hull of a ship to reduce the number of ships being lost in the Atlantic. The magnetic mines would not experience the attraction to the hull. Some torpedoes also had triggers that sensed the magnetic field of a ships hull.
Yes, they did teleport a ship. I personally knew someone who was involved with it. They said after performing the experiment, men were fused with the ship, and even hundreds of miles away into concrete. The experiment was a total mess. But, they did teleport the ship. The person that this information came from is long dead now, and when they died (natural causes) there was an unidentified person outside their hospital room. This person left after it was confirmed they were dead. Take of it as you will, but this is the true story of what I experienced.
Keep in mind in the book The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time it says that everyone was either brainwashed or killed that worked on the actual base
Given the way the worlds gone in the last decade, it's a lot more difficult to disbelieve conspiracy theories. Turns out we've been living in a world of conspiracy the whole time.

Not too sure what happened after. But if the government is to hide stuff like that, then they would probably hide their teleportation/invisability knowledge. Im 22, seen the black triangle. Ive done my research and im still learning more.
these transitions are so clean
Do a video on Andras Toma the WWII POW who didn't return home until the year 2000!
Love ur channel
I saw the title and immediately thought of interface.
Everybody gangsta till the U.S navy starts cloaking ships.
Surely I can't be the only one who has trouble following videos like this
There's so many names and I forget who's who, and when time passes they look different in the animations so I completely lose track.
@@Porkey_Minch there are subtitles too you know.
Loki brought me here ! :D
The case is solved the TVA took the ship
Cool channel,. Keep doing what you do,.
U should do a video on the ghost ship, USS lexington
Already made
The experiment was about degaussing the steel hull of a ship to reduce the number of ships being lost in the Atlantic. The magnetic
mines would not experience the attraction to the hull. Some torpedoes also had triggers that sensed the magnetic field of a ships hull.
This is what it was.
Infrographics Show: Did The US Navy Actully Teleport A Ship
Nobody:

Yes they did. The military found out the same technology that makes hem radios work also makes ships and aircraft's disappear with frequencies.
Lol
Keep in mind in the book The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time it says that everyone was either brainwashed or killed that worked on the actual base
I teleported your battleship!
Nobody: ain’t enough conspiracy theories!
Info graphics: wait! Have you heard of the the declassified teleportation files!
Yeah. My teacher told this story and I was sooooooo fascinated by it! I researched it a lot and it was fun!
DE-173 USS Eldridge: “I can teleport” SCP-173: “son what have they done to you”
The TVA pruned the ship.
You can see the resemblance, the sailors could be Popeyes' grandchildren.
😅😉⛴
thats why Eldridge is weird
In Azur Lane Anime she literally is leaking electricity
poor San Diego.
Remember episode 6
Why is azur lane included into a teleporting us navy ship?
Given the way the worlds gone in the last decade, it's a lot more difficult to disbelieve conspiracy theories. Turns out we've been living in a world of conspiracy the whole time.
i feel like most of that was insane and i lost a few brain cells after seeing that vid
"About as plausible as the existence of ufo's"
Ahh, that didn't age well.
Used that endermen strategy
You guys, are spot on,!
The year was 1943. Our ship was stationed in Philadelphia, and was about to generate an Electromagnetic field that would make us invisible to the enemy. What happened instead, we were teleported to New York. And in that process, my shipmates were fused to the hull of the ship. Embedded in the metal, screaming for help ; I was destroyed. Forced to regain my physicality.
Why are you lying?
@@noah5602 swear to god, I’m still Stuck in the ships hull 79 years later, pray for me

They didn’t teleport a ship but they did successfully teleport an apple and a chicken.
This is what happens when you try to create an alternate timeline, you go to void getting eaten by alioth.😂😂😂
