10 years later - The time-lapse film of the historical rise of the One World Trade Center, which was still under construction at the time, is very interesting from today's perspective.
I think the time-lapse film was an emotional milestone at the time and I still really like this time-lapse sequence.

That height isn't offical.
The extended roof height on the North Tower was to support the antenna.

Nope. The other holes are fountains in memory of the people who died. The names are cut into the stone. I have been there it’s amazing really
@@cmtransportvids I think he means the current two holes. There are still two platforms of other collapsed buildings that haven’t been rebuilt yet. Not the memorial site of the north and south tower
The last 2 plots were getting a fountain to remember those skyscrapers World Trade Center (Better known as Twin Towers) got construct in August 5th. 1966, then it finalized in 1973. But it got attacked by terrorists in September 11st. 2001 and it was a tragedy beacuz' it caused 2996 deaths, near to 3000 deaths, and it was so sad. I think that who died thought that fall over the ground was better than be burnt alive. And it caused attacks too, outside from New York.

Even though it's great to see the towers being rebuilt, it still feels wrong. People died there and if I worked there it would only make me want to cry, but I still support the towers

Anyway, I was just there last weekend, and boy does she look huge! And when I was passing by the site at night, I could've sworn she was complete! But no, she's 3/4th's of the way done. And I'm happy with their progress. Thanks.

I think this building is incredible! I am dorming at nearby, only a block away from the tower, and let me tell you, its utterly amazing and beautiful to look at! I think it does the Twin Tower justice, i my own opinion. I love seeing it off before I go to bed.... amazing stuff
The new One World Trade Center also has state of the art security measures built INTO the building. It's much more durable than the original as it was built with the possibility of a terrorist attack in mind. It's gonna be pretty awesome when it's finished.

@andyissemicool it is beautiful and breathtaking. It was back in 2004, they did a special on the 6 different architectural designs that were selected out of hundreds considered. Then it was down to two. They asked the families input. When they picked this final one the symbolism made perfect sense. In respect they could not build over the original ground. Water poors down into the pools reflecting a memorial (tears crying) then the new building is angled to look down at the memorial symbolizin

I was in NYC in May 2010 and only a couple of floors were built. I'm amazed to see how quickly the rest of it as gone up. I'm glad the people of NYC have this to show the world they will not be defeated :)

I hate how people say that the building is ugly, that is one of the most beautiful skyscrapers I have ever seen. It glistens and rises over the surrounding city, it's amazing. It's already becoming a symbol of America, just like the previous complex.

Its very important for the world to see that America can pick itself up, and rebuild after 9/11. It shows American resolve, and the virtue of our nation. Beautiful.
@andyisemicool the new tower angled to look down into the reflecting pools symbolizing we've risen from these ashes yet we will never forget. Two amazing thoughts went into this design. There is a reason why this had to take as long as they did. It's amazing

They build it up there. As the building grows, they mantle more pieces to the bottom of the machine to overlap the foundation their working on. At the top, when completed, they dismantle the crane piece by piece.

I Think it is better if we build two towers.
As a blessed, lucky and fortunate World Trade Center survivor (Tower 1 / 25th Floor), I was far-beyond disappointed and felt completely deflated when they decided on building only one-of-four (instead of two twin towers) WTC buildings...it defeats the whole purpose but I guess it's politics as usual for the power-hungry carnivores
@omega crayon no they don't have any space to build another one. They made the memorial first and also they don't want the same thing to happen back in 2001 September 11 so they made one

The cranes go up with the building. When they're finished using it at the top, a jib crane or "derrick" is assembled to lower the original crane pieces. The jib crane is then dismantled and lowered to the street using one of the three or four building maintenance units used for window washing, etc.

human ingenuity, perseverance and skill must be commended.
the empire state building originally had less than 50% of its space leased. SOM, Adrian Smith, Norman Foster, everyone involved in the design and construction of this new complex, all New Yorkers, and all Americans should be proud of the new World Trade Center.
So beautiful, i take this building as the rebirth in memory of all those who lost their lives there, they are climbing their way back to heaven.

The Twin Towers were officially designated 1 WTC and 2 WTC. They were the two largest buildings of (I think) seven.
One World Trade Center (a.k.a. the Freedom Tower) now inherits the designation 1 WTC. They're also currently constructing 2 WTC, 3 WTC and others within the general World Trade Center complex.

This one is going to be 6 feet taller than WTC1(the one with the antenna) and 14 feet taller than WTC2(the one with the observation deck).The roof height is 1,374'+408' spire,making it the tallest building in the North America.Overall,the new WTC complex has a height of 5,858'(1WTC,2WTC,3WTC,4WTC and 7WTC)vs 3,235'(1WTC,2WTC and 7WTC) of the previous WTC complex.
