In Greece, we have the ancient Parthenon, the building that has stayed up for almost 3000 years.. and we are proud of it. And you guys in USA have this beautiful building and the memorial marbles where so many people lost their lives.. It’s a life goal for me to get the money to go and see the tower and the memorials in real life. This made me tear up. You must be proud! You created a beautiful thing after a disaster

That’s really nice to hear!! I hope you go see it. I’ve always wanted to see it. However, I’m still reliant on my parents, and my mom refuses to go back to Ground Zero (this area) because there are too many painful memories. She had lunch at the Twin Towers a few times in the 1980s.

I'm sick of people calling this tower an ugly pile of goat shit. I'm sick of people complaining about its design. I'm sick of them going "OMG DIS TOWUR SUX REEBELD DUH TWEN TUWURZ!!!!!!" This is the BEST tower I've EVER seen in my entire life! It's like, the greatest modern building that's ever been built in New York! It's as great as London's gherkin building! Yes, I do miss the old WTC, but this is an amazing building! With all it's glory, it's the building of the future of NYC! Anyone who replies back to me saying "but the tower IS a piece of crap! Why can't you see that?!" My response is you don't like this tower still, you're gonna have to deal with it. Sorry, but this great epic tower is here to stay :)

They assemble large derricks at the roof, disassemble the crane into pieces and send them down from the top with derricks. Then they use smaller derrick (individual pieces of which can fit into freight elevator) to disassemble large derricks. This is lengthy procedure.

I mean before 9/11 hijackers normally only wanted one thing and would land and demand money or something, but hijacking is different now, you can no longer access cockpits of planes from the passenger area, someone hijacking would need to climb round the plane XD, 9/11 will not happen again, well not with planes+skyscrapers anyway

It wasn't dubbed "Freedom Tower," though. It is simply One World Trade Center.

One reason why they didn't is because to them you can only have those towers once. So they built one that is bigger stronger and has a way more complicated design. I've been to the top it is breathtaking.

With all respect/no further insinuation, it has to be said that the original Trade Center buildings were awful, aesthetically, and would have looked especially bad today compared to the the buildings cities like Shanghai and Hong Kong have seen rise in the last 10 years. NYC has a much better skyline now.

***** Did you really take it that that was the assertion I was making? Obviously not. The old twin towers were quite strongly criticised by architects. They were basically just the largest examples of a brutal concrete style that you see in post-war buildings all over Europe.
