Out of them all I like the Empire State Building. Its small now but when it was young it was towering over the 1930s New York Skyline. Now its the oldest out of them all at a grand age of 94 years.❤
Wow...such an amazing use of graphics and illustrations! I think that one of the things that confused people when 9/11 was happening was that people thought it was a small plane that hit WTC1 because of the shear massiveness of the tower. And it's honestly not until you see the WTC's next to the ESB that you really get a true comparison of their scale.
The Twin Towers may have been a bit bland in design, but there was just something majestic about them, like they were a pair of guardians standing over the city. Even though they had a terrible demise, maybe in a way, they still were the guardians of the city by taking the brunt of the terrorist attacks. They could have possibly saved different parts of the city from something more sinister that could have been planned by the terrorists.
Adding onto that, if they hadn't taken the first two hits, the passengers aboard United Airlines Flight 93 would not have known about hijackers, and they wouldn't have been able to subdue them. This is the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania, but it is believed that the target was either the White House or the Capitol building.
they werent really bland, calling entire generations of architecture dull and unremarkable is an insult, you dont have to like modernist design but you state it as it is fact that its bland and not your personal opinon
Very cool! I love seeing this. The Sears Tower is our home town sentinel and has a different personality depending in which side of the city you're viewing it from and I love that about it. It seems more like a living behemoth.. When I saw the WTC towers in person, a totally different and massive feel because of the solid shape from top to bottom. Very cool but more of a structure vibe than a fantastical presence ...both equally enjoyed for what they inpart(ed). The Empire State is always treasured for its historical significance and presence for so many years prior to the later buildings that would surpass its height. Truly iconic.
It made me sad that any praise for the Sears Tower is so low in the comments :( It's the skyscraper that ignited my love for architecture and engineering
@@akaviral5476 The Sears tower is my favourite, its such a unique design ad yet the type of building I always used to sketch as a kid. Also never knew that about the tower @theshadowboxer
The Twin Towers gave everyone in the city and beyond a focal point of direction, to help you locate where you were and were you were headed. Sorely missed, even with the new One World Trade.
Same, atleast I've been to the Sears, so I will always cherish that, but I always dreamed of seeing the Twins in person, it must be so surreal, especially always seeing them in movies and tv shows, until you see it in person, it's a big big difference!
The Sears Tower is my favorite one! Makes up the marvelous Chicago skyline, I’ve been there myself Oh I called it the Sears Tower? If you don’t know, here’s a very short backstory… I was born and raised in Chicago almost all my life (not important but now I live in California), and every native Chicagoan calls it the Sears Tower, we weren’t happy when they renamed it the Willis Tower
As a Chicago Native I hated when they declared the WTC the tallest building in America when it clearly is not. Same thing with the twin towers in Asia.
@@Blackdiamondprod. in today's dollars the Empire State Building cost about $600 million to build. One World Trade center cost about $4 billion, and it's fairly ugly.
beauty is subjective and they built skyscrapers in the 70s in nyc that can survive nuclear bombs (33 thomas street) so they actually built them stronger for a short period in the cold war era personally i think the sears tower is just as beautiful
Such an awesome video you made. You should make more of these. Such as comparing all the tallest buildings throughout history side by side. This is probably the best comparison video I’ve ever seen. Good work and look forward to your future videos.

Well, and with my wife too, and that's going to be more difficult.
My favorite out of all of these are the Twin Towers, they both just completed and made the New York skyline. They also complemented the Empire State Building. The new World Trade Center while I like it just seems out of place, not natural like the twin towers did along with the Empire State Building. Now New York is building a bunch of weird looking buildings that are going to ruin the skyline. At least I can say I experienced the best skyline in New York back when.
The Twin Towers in those photos taken with the ESB always look so natural, like as the low rises turn into the massive buildings, it suddenly jumps and then descends again.
And the main reason for this channel's existence is because of our beloved Empire State Building. So we're going to wish it a very happy birthday and many more years to come! 🎉🎈
@@Magnitudx ... Imagine, in just 7 years, The ESB will turn 100 💯 years Old !! I think that's in 2031 It seems like a long time but, time flies and we'll be there before we know it 😊
the World Trade Center Twins were immaculate specially with their diagonal Offset Footprints looking towards NJ/Lady Liberty they just fit there. But alot of what i fiind is alot of the newer generation love the One WTC because it's the only tower they Know as World Trade Center but ive been blessed to live in the same timeline as both and I have to say the Twin Towers cant be replicated. Tehy were both built the same despite some differences and that there were 2 of them which is why they were attacked in the first place.
Not really imo. Those buildings are both far too massive and imposing to be placed directly next to eachother like that and look pleasing aesthetically. One of the things that made the Twin Towers so beautiful and fitting in the New York skyline was they were the centerpiece. There was no other competing skyscraper near it that came close to its height and all the other buildings in lower Manhatten made up the rest of the skyline and complimented the Twins.
The Twin Towers… I had the privilege to see them with my own eyes when crossing Manhattan Bridge on the Q Train. I would stare at them and admire their beauty.
I’m so happy my ‘rents took us to NY when I was 13 and I got to go up to the top floor of the wtc towers…. It was amazing to see it was just a giant!! I wish they rebuilt it exactly as they were
My favorite has always been Sears Tower, it would’ve been larger around 5.5-6 million square feet. But since the faa limited it’s height to 1,450 ft, they had to cut down the size of the building. Seriously fuck the faa.
Lol I know right? What a shame, what could have been, especially now with all the buildings that have surpassed it, it used to be the tallest in the world, how times have changed.
View of the old World Trace Center was illusion. Those strips, streching to 417 m height must be so spectacular in real. And of course power was doubled by a neighbour tower.
I like seeing the Willis tower in lower Manhattan, not that it belongs there, but still looks cool standing next to wtc towers. Impressive animation. Keep up the good work!
In the end of the video with the four buildings (five with the south tower), I couldn't stop looking at the WTC. It just fits Manhattan perfectly, like it's supposed to be there forever. You see those other buildings and they don't fit as much as the Twin Towers.
I never been to New York so I never saw the Empire State or one world trade but I did get to see the Sears Tower and I can surely tell you as a Floridian it is massive af
2:34 Amazing how a bomber jet carrying bombs crashed into the Empire State and didn’t even dent the thing, while a commercial airliner crashed into even stronger towers in the WTC which were made of the strongest structural steel known to man at the time and managed to cause them to melt into ashes 70 years later.

When I saw that image of the Freedom Tower and the Twin Towers together at the end, it actually seriously spooked me out because of what happened. That image looked so wrong. I was 30 back then and I remember the horror of what happened very clearly. I’m in Australia and we will be visiting NYC next year. I remember those two buildings being superimposed onto the Perth, Western Australia skyline back in the news in 2001, and they were truly immense, especially when placed into that setting…but in the NYC skyline, they looked totally natural and to scale there. The Freedom Tower lacks their presence. Can’t say I’m a big fan of a certain Donald J Trump but I did agree with him when he stated build them as they were, but even better to serve a massive snub to those who sought to bring the United States to its knees. Those two towers are definitely missed I reckon along with the many innocents that paid the price because of a perverse and twisted ideology. I’ll never forget.
They could never be rebuilt exactly, simply because the original design of the twins had several flaws - like only having 3 emergency stairwells, instead of the 6 they were supposed to have for buildings of that height. The same stairwells also being far too narrow, meaning it was hard for emergency workers to pass evacuees on the way up. They'd also need to have changed the structure to have steel supports running throughout the floor layout instead of having all the structural steel on the outside. I do agree that the new tower does not look great...it looks like it could be in *any* city. Totally generic.
Hey guys I’m showing you all the skyscrapers here they are: Empire State Building: 0:50 One World Trade Center: 2:55 Willis tower: 4:33 twin towers: 6:13
*Absolutely amazing!* Thank you for sharing! And for the love of G’d, lets support a movement to rebuild WTC2 just like it was(of course, stronger). The original WTC complex was iconic!
Excellent video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I always go by roof height (where one can stand & walk around w/o safety equipment) ! With that in mind, if you stand on the roof of Central Park Tower, you’re looking down upon the Sears Tower’s roof. If you stand on the Sears Tower’s roof, you’re looking down upon the roof of 1 WTC, all by roughly a 100ft or so !
For me, it's also the height of the rooftop (generally accessible) that determines the real height of a building, but CTBUH considers that criterion secondary, and personally, I find that it distorts the worldwide rankings of skyscrapers. And indeed, based on this, what you're saying is true.
@@Magnitudx I always found it silly how a “spire” determines the overall height of a building and then, when all of the tallest buildings are compared, some of the “tallest” buildings have a significantly lower roof height. The B1M RUclips channel has an episode about this.
When it comes to The Empire State building I consider it the KING of skyscrapers because of the name and because the way it looks Even though it’s the shortest building of the bunch
The Twin Towers should have been rebuilt based one the original architectural plans, except brought up to modern standards, like floor height, windows, etc, and other minor details, maybe a re-reading of the style, with slightly diffent lines. It would be astounding and surreal to see those towers back on their feet again.
I completely agree. There was a magnificent project called World Trade Center Phoenix that did everything you mention, but it added five more floors. However, the one that won, won for the reasons it did (and I won't get into that). The point is, we missed a great opportunity, and it's a shame.
@@Magnitudx The occurrences of 911 imbued those buildings with unmatcheable soul and familiarity. All you'd have to do is to restore them (but a little "cooler"), and they would be received by everyone like an old friend. No building ever had such privilege and quality. Rebuiliding them according to the original would automatically mean guaranteed success and acclaim... And much more than that!

And seeing this fantasy portion of a combined skyline. LOVE.
It made me sad that any praise for the Sears Tower is so low in the comments :(
It's the skyscraper that ignited my love for architecture and engineering
@@akaviral5476 The Sears tower is my favourite, its such a unique design ad yet the type of building I always used to sketch as a kid. Also never knew that about the tower @theshadowboxer
you thought it best when you wrote, "has a different personality depending on which side of the city you saw the building in"
The Twin Towers gave everyone in the city and beyond a focal point of direction, to help you locate where you were and were you were headed. Sorely missed, even with the new One World Trade.
The twins are just legends, what I would have given just to have seen them before they were gone
Same here 😢
Same, atleast I've been to the Sears, so I will always cherish that, but I always dreamed of seeing the Twins in person, it must be so surreal, especially always seeing them in movies and tv shows, until you see it in person, it's a big big difference!
The Sears Tower is my favorite one! Makes up the marvelous Chicago skyline, I’ve been there myself
Oh I called it the Sears Tower? If you don’t know, here’s a very short backstory…
I was born and raised in Chicago almost all my life (not important but now I live in California), and every native Chicagoan calls it the Sears Tower, we weren’t happy when they renamed it the Willis Tower
As a Chicago Native I hated when they declared the WTC the tallest building in America when it clearly is not. Same thing with the twin towers in Asia.
The tallest building in the US today is the Central Park tower. It overtook the Sears tower when it was completed in 2019.
@@ErikCB912Nuh uh, it’s One World Trade Center.
@@ElmoreStreamsnot including spire, central park tower is taller
Great video. I’ve been a Chicagoland area resident since ‘92 I was a little kid, I’ll forever call it the Sears Tower.
The Empire State Building will probably always be my favorite. It's so artistically beautiful. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Because it was so damn expensive. The skyscrapers of today don’t cost half as much as the ones built 100 years ago.
@@Blackdiamondprod. in today's dollars the Empire State Building cost about $600 million to build. One World Trade center cost about $4 billion, and it's fairly ugly.
beauty is subjective and they built skyscrapers in the 70s in nyc that can survive nuclear bombs
(33 thomas street) so they actually built them stronger for a short period in the cold war era
personally i think the sears tower is just as beautiful
All are amazing, but being from NY, I'll never forget the twins, there was nothing like them.
Sears/Willis tower for me, not sure why but I've always liked it
Sears Tower is the coolest by far
Yes
The Twin Towers plus Freedom Tower, damn that'd be a sight to see for sure
As a Chicagoan I think the Twin Towers were a better symbol of NYC than the single One World Trade.
Such an awesome video you made. You should make more of these. Such as comparing all the tallest buildings throughout history side by side. This is probably the best comparison video I’ve ever seen. Good work and look forward to your future videos.
You're very welcome. I'm particularly proud that you say it's the best you've seen, because the truth is that there are some quite good ones, and one is never the most objective in these matters. In any case, I am going to continue making videos of this type because I enjoy it, but I'm going to have to struggle with Kronos to see if it lets me play tricks on reality.
I totally agree, I loved the Twin Towers 😥
The Twin Towers in those photos taken with the ESB always look so natural, like as the low rises turn into the massive buildings, it suddenly jumps and then descends again.
Seeing the north tower without the south reminds me of 9:59 of that tragic day that everyone should never forget ❤️
Not the same without the Twin Towers in New York. They are missed , i gree up in chicago and have been in the sears tower.
Beautiful rendering. Very cool to see them side by side. 👍👍
Happy 93rd Birthday to the ESB, The Grandfather of Skyscrapers !!
It officially opened on May 1st, 1931 !
And the main reason for this channel's existence is because of our beloved Empire State Building. So we're going to wish it a very happy birthday and many more years to come! 🎉🎈
@@Magnitudx ... Imagine, in just 7 years, The ESB will turn 100 💯 years Old !!
I think that's in 2031
It seems like a long time but, time flies and we'll be there before we know it 😊
One World Trade Center ( Freedom Tower) is stunning. Really love it. One of my favorite skyscrapers ever.
the World Trade Center Twins were immaculate specially with their diagonal Offset Footprints looking towards NJ/Lady Liberty they just fit there.
THANK U! Literally nobody is talking about the Freedom Tower.
Oh man , the twin towers looks incredible next to the freedom tower tho 😳
Not really imo. Those buildings are both far too massive and imposing to be placed directly next to eachother like that and look pleasing aesthetically. One of the things that made the Twin Towers so beautiful and fitting in the New York skyline was they were the centerpiece. There was no other competing skyscraper near it that came close to its height and all the other buildings in lower Manhatten made up the rest of the skyline and complimented the Twins.
Comparing the original WTC along with the original Sears tower is like comparing a New York pizza to a Chigago pizza😂❤..
Wow! Well, I'm a New Yorker at heart, but I prefer Chicago-style pizza. 😐🫤😁
Ah yes cardboard or a cheesy bathed masterpiece
It’s VERY obvious the the Sears Tower is the tallest at the rooftop level.
We all miss the old WTCs.
The Twin Towers… I had the privilege to see them with my own eyes when crossing Manhattan Bridge on the Q Train. I would stare at them and admire their beauty.
Sears Tower 😍👌
Everything is so majestic , but the Empire State Building is the real og 😎
Chrysler Building !? 👀
I’m so happy my ‘rents took us to NY when I was 13 and I got to go up to the top floor of the wtc towers…. It was amazing to see it was just a giant!! I wish they rebuilt it exactly as they were
The final segment shows the Sears Tower (building) as being the tallest.
The original wtc was fully wide all the way up which made it so intimidating.
There will never be anything like the original wtc twin towers!
It is the Sears tower, and always and forever will be.
Gorgeous visualizations.
Seeing The Sears in Downtown Manhattan looks out of place but interesting to see my home building paying a visit to The Big Apple 🍎!
Bravo, beautiful renditions
less than 2 years to build the Empire state building almost 100 years ago. And 13 years to build 1WTC
wtc changed designs like 9 times
Excellent visual representation! Thank you
I like seeing the Willis tower in lower Manhattan, not that it belongs there, but still looks cool standing next to wtc towers. Impressive animation. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you.
In the end of the video with the four buildings (five with the south tower), I couldn't stop looking at the WTC. It just fits Manhattan perfectly, like it's supposed to be there forever. You see those other buildings and they don't fit as much as the Twin Towers.
Sears Tower is still the greatest.
Wow! I always imagine the sears tower being wayy taller, thanks for this video demonstration!
Thank you very much for this video. A really interesting comparison in which a lot of work has gone into both visually and in terms of content. I've been to the One World Observatory Deck five times. It's a fantastic view. However, my unfulfilled childhood dream has always been the Twin Towers.
When I saw that bit of animation where the tiny plane crashed into the ESB I was wondering where this video was heading...
Twin Towers beats them all for me. My favorite skyscrapers
Fun fact: The original Twin Towers used to be despised for their design because they were different compared to its surrounding buildings.
I wanted the Chicago Spire to be built.
And I, definitely yes.
I wanted to visit the twins but it is gone forever I was 11 years old that time😢
Sears Tower is the actual tallest of them all.
Actual your WRONG the one World Trade Center is the tallest in all of America
Thé antina is longer on one world trade center
New York has taller buildings than the sears tower

I don’t care what you say, it’s the Sears Tower
Very nice work
Awesome video!!
Sears tower takes the cake. when i landed in chicago and seen it for the first time i was in awe true tallest building in the usa
Actually it’s not the true tallest building in the US anymore. The Central Park tower surpassed it in 2019 at 1,550 ft.
Nicely done. Enjoyed this .
everybody calls willis tower the sears tower, which is nice but,
are we forgetting that one world trade center is called freedom tower?

Hey guys I’m showing you all the skyscrapers here they are:
Empire State Building: 0:50
One World Trade Center: 2:55
Willis tower: 4:33 twin towers: 6:13
I was at the top of the sears tower!
Well, congratulations, I'm sure you enjoyed it because since the renovation, it has one of the best observation decks in the world.
Jaw dropping! Very well done!
the last bit is like when you play Sim City and you just put a bunch of landmarks in the same area.
Wouuu excelente comparativa el WTC torres gemelas siempre fueron mis favoritas ya que eran dos inmensas
*Absolutely amazing!*
Thank you for sharing! And for the love of G’d, lets support a movement to rebuild WTC2 just like it was(of course, stronger). The original WTC complex was iconic!
We simply need more large 2000 ft skyscrapers
Awesome video!
Very informative!
A very special video. Thank you.
Empire State Building for all time!
The Sears (Willis) tower is way more interesting than the tower that replaced the Twin Towers. Simple and smart design.
the sears tower fits very well with the city around it aswell, many many chicagoan buildings use that black glass
Excellent video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I always go by roof height (where one can stand & walk around w/o safety equipment) !
You have a new sub bro your a underrated RUclipsr
This was a beautiful video indeed
The last shot reminds me of the end of "Return of the Jedi"...and "Happy Gilmore"! lol
Absolutely amazing, you are the best.
Thank you, I take that as a compliment.
When it comes to The Empire State building I consider it the KING of skyscrapers because of the name and because the way it looks Even though it’s the shortest building of the bunch
There's supposed to be a 2WTC in the location that the Empire State Building is in at the end reel. Sadly it hasn't been built yet :(
The Twin Towers should have been rebuilt based one the original architectural plans, except brought up to modern standards, like floor height, windows, etc, and other minor details, maybe a re-reading of the style, with slightly diffent lines.
@@GurHaenouasHazourem Indeed. That's right. It would be very hard not to agree with this logic.
