I love seeing pieces like this be restored. So many people nowadays are into shabby chic and decoupage, and that would do no justice to such a beautiful piece of furniture. Well done. it's stunning ❣️🙏
I agree Lynn. I try to clearly show what I am doing and then narrate it with the written comments if I think you need additional info. I read all comments so if anyone had any questions about something I did (that was not clear in the video) I can answer them . I too think they are calm and relaxing to make. Furniture refinishing is very Zen to me ! I don't like to speed up the videos because it makes me look frenetic. BUT, sometimes I think it is helpful to see the process in more detail and it is too long so I have to speed it up. If I did not the video's would be over an hour long each!
Thanks for your comments Sara. I decided to completely change my style based on comments from viewers like you. I am glad you like it. I do too. The only problem is, I cannot listen to music any more when I am working LOL! Worse yet, I have a dance studio in the office next door to me and I have to literally work around their dance class schedule because I don't want their dance music in the background. LOL!
Это великолепное поеображение.Вы самая ,самая замечательная реставратор.Сколько души и труда вложено в вашу работу.Спасибо вам за классное видео.Ваш труд безценен.❤❤❤❤❤
BEAUTIFUL RESTORATION!! I would never have thought you could make this pretty without painting it. It looked like it had massive damage to the veneer and finish! Well done. Thanks for sharing.
8/11/22. Very nice restoration of that Burl wood 3-drawer chest. I especially appreciate your showing the repairs of 'broken' slide hardware & it's related small wooden glued 'hold-downs'. Project results perfect! Appearance & mechanical sliding action of drawers in 'like-new' condition. Another great job. Also like yur showing all materials/liquids (stripping & bleaching)/rubbing brushes/steel wool/Viva towels/sand papers/stain & boiling distilled white vinegar to restore pulls/knobs/handles etc. Just a complete video on old furniture paint/strip/renew process. Another great job & video 📹 production!👍👍👍🛠😊
OOOh wow,... this is so beautiful the transformation is incredible. I hope you got a great price for all the work and effort you put into restoring his gorgeous piece of art!
Oh my word…that is absolutely stunning!! It is so amazing to see what people would deem a “piece of junk” brought back to life again to be used and enjoyed for years to come. Great job! 👊🏼😁
I saw one guy on RUclips who refinishes furniture, he has a set of stainless steel dental picks for removing paint and finishes from small areas like the florals on the corners of that piece, seems to work well. Beautiful job again.👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the tip! I find that using the small wire brushes works great. Watch the video I just posted . It had a LOT of intricate carvings and all I used was the small wire brushes. Here is the link to that video: ruclips.net/video/O-0YcWMpZ1E/видео.html
Thanks for your reply about the music, and the site for find the playlists. This piece of furniture is so beautifully crafted. 'tis a shame hardly anyone builds pieces like this anymore.
you KNOW the past energy of that piece is screaming thank you!!!!! its clean and renewed of fresh happy energy now;];];] great job;];];] sometimes you wonder what pieces of furniture has seen/ felt in its life time.. and wonder if it could only talk....... and other times your glad it cant!!!!!! great job and i hope a much happier future life;];];]
Работа достойна самых больших похвал.Это что невероятное,аж дух захватывает.Эта работа достойна музейной.Вы великолепный мастер своего дела.Супер,супер❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Strip it and set in in our shops then let the buyer make the choice if one has a large enough shop. Great job and the client is happy too what a concept and a win win!
Great idea. However, I produce weekly videos so I cannot leave stripped furniture sitting in my workroom until someone agree to buy it and then notify me of the stain they want :-)
The 3 drawer chest is quite MAGNIFICENT! Really has a presence of majesty. Love the feet and the carved columns beside the drawers, the grain on the top is beautiful as well. Lucky lady that now owns this to pair well her credenza. Enjoy your work very much. Do you know what type of wood used in the structure and also in the veneer? Thank you for another great refinishing video. The 2 part wood bleach worked very well.! ❤ 👏
❤❤❤❤Just LOVELY!!!! As much as I LOVE Chalk Paint, I'm soooooo GLAD you didn't do that to this piece!!!! If you did, no one could see the BEAUTIFUL PATTERN IN THE WOOD!!!!
Hi Liberty. I too love to chalk paint. However, I only chalk paint furniture that cannot be stained. Sometimes when I strip a piece, there is hidden damage under the paint that has been filled in with massive amounts of wood filler. Therefore, I have no choice but to paint it. The following video is an example of that.ruclips.net/video/78Sq46fUE_4/видео.html
I would have had a very hard time letting go of this piece of furniture!!!! You must already have many lovely pieces of furniture in your home. Thank you for sharing these videos!
Yes I do have a hard time parting with some pieces. I have a friend that loves my work so he frequently buys pieces so I can always go see them at his house. I am pleased that you like my videos! They are a lot of work but lovely, heart felt comments like yours are real motivation!
I'm not sure how this restoration felt during the process, but the video is very contemplative! Thank you for putting so much effort into this video. The result is beautiful and speaks for itself. Kudos!
With this chest, I knew it had beautiful grain and burl wood so I was not surprised when I stripped the finish. i.e. there was no "reveal" like there has been with other restorations I have done. However, I genuinely enjoyed the process because the finish came off sooooo easy! I was surprised how it just melted off. Even the carved trim was easy to strip. As I said in the video, I wish all furniture was this easy to strip. Thanks so much for watching- I am glad that you appreciated teh results!
I agree when you have a lovely piece of furniture however there is also a place for shabby chic. I say this from a mad collector n lover of genuine old furniture especially with lovely grain..I believe I am a diverse collector.
I enjoy your channel & have learned a lot from you, so thanks !! I have end tables with a similar pattern to the veneer top as the table in this video, but a large portion of the veneer sustained water damage in the middle & raised significantly. What can I do to flatten it back out ??
An absolutely beautiful piece of furniture now but it took a lot off rpeparation. I'd love to have seen a light again on it .... But it's about the customer isn't it. wonderful work by you 😊
The blood was a gross-out moment but you marched on like a trooper! Speaking of gross, have you ever dealt with worm word holes in wood furniture? I have a 200 year old French armoire that has loads of them and don’t know if it can be salvaged! I feel sick about it. I also noticed several of the same tiny holes on a solid maple bed frame. I’m enjoying being a new subscriber - seeing old beauties brought back to life is a joy.
Yes, the blood WAS a gross out moment. When the video camera is not on, I listen to real detective shows so I can come up with all kinds of different ways that the blood got on there due to a very active imagination! LOL! I have never had to deal with worms holes. I recall seeing a video where he spoke about how he had to kill the worms in the furniture (apparently they were alive and still eating away at the wood) but I do not recall what he did about the holds. I don't think there is any value to keeping the holes so my first inclination would be to fill them in with wood filler. I prefer DAP premium patch. THanks for watching and thank you for subscribing!!!!
Hi Pamela, I am so glad that you enjoy watching me work. It is very therapeutic for me. I just love to take something that looks like this and bring it back to life. It is very motivating to receive so many positive comments!
Beautiful restoration! My dining room table (with two leaves) is in need of restoring and has beautiful burled veneer (it has a pattern with sections going in different directions). Plus two big bases (which I’ll probably paint black). I’m having major neck and back surgery (tomorrow actually) but it will be one of my first projects (I have a few since it’s been a year since I’ve been able to work on any of them) when I’ve fully recovered and it’s cooled off in blazing hot Texas.🥵 Until then I’ll have plenty of time to watch videos and look for great ideas like you always do.💜
Thanks for sharing. During your recovery, you will be able to watch lots of videos to learn how to complete this big project. Best of luck with your surgery!
@@FurnitureFlippingForProfit aww, thank you so much! I'm so looking forward to being able to start this (and other) projects. I've missed it for sure. Have a great weekend!💜
I love that you restore with just nature making a noise instead of music , thank you❤
I love seeing pieces like this be restored. So many people nowadays are into shabby chic and decoupage, and that would do no justice to such a beautiful piece of furniture. Well done. it's stunning ❣️🙏
I agree Teresa. I love the look and feel of stained wood. I also love the smell of unfinished raw wood!
I agree
I love the quiet calmness of this video. No constant talking to interrupt the flow. Thank you.

What a gorgeous piece of furniture! How you refinished it was well done. I particularly liked it that there was no music! And NO loud machinery.
I love the quiet of the video. No music. Just the sound of rain. Great work on the chest!

what a beautiful piece of furniture ,so happy to see it restored not painted over.

I cannot believe some of the travesties called shabby chic I see on FB marketplace!

Well said, crime scene!!!
The nature clips are so relaxing. Great restoration
Glad you like them!
The detail of the wood is gorgeous. The stain that you used really accentuates it well. Your client should be very pleased. 🙂
