Hey Chris, I have a soft spot for S3D as well. Heck, back in 2014 or so, if you wanted any level of custom support, they were the only game in town! I haven't sampled their new version as I find Cura works very well for me. The PRO about Cura is they update it all the time. The CON is they update it all the time, so they seem to induce a lot of bugs! I never thought to use a 0.4mm nozzle on prints like the Robocop helmet, etc. I've found 0.8mm with 0.25mm layer height usually keeps all the great details. I don't mind long print times tho if it saves some post processing, so I also use a 0.6mm nozzle on a few machines. Great tips!
Awesome glad to hear I'm not the only one that loves S3D, it still works great and I'm using the old version never paid for the upgrade. Ill switch off with CURA as well for the tree supports every now and then. Thanks for commenting and sharing!
