"Madeline Soto’s body was found on March 1 by detectives after having last been seen alive on Feb. 26. Police named Stephan Sterns, identified in court documents as her stepfather, as a prime suspect in her disappearance. While he was charged with sexual battery of a minor, no charges have been filed in Madeline’s death.
In an affidavit obtained by Court TV, a detective for the Kissimmee Police Department said that Sterns consented to having his phone searched, but told officers that he “had accidentally performed a factory reset on his phone on February 26, 2024.” - courttv

Or it’s just really hard to accept because he never saw any signs. What if you found this out about your best friend? You can’t say you wouldn’t have a hard time coming to terms with it. But the reality is child groomers are excellent at hiding in plain sight and they are usually never suspected.

He was sticking up for Stephan and talking about no tears because he's all cried out. I call BS. My husband was killed 2022. I cry tears everyday, for over a year , some days my tears never stop. Stephan rubbed his eyes so they appeared red to look like he was cried out. The friend said his own child has a standing appt Dr appt. I pray to God it's not the kind of appt where you talk about abuse that been done to you. This friend talks about Maddie doing something "weird" with her mom and Creepy boyfriend. That's not weird that disgusting, illegal , r•pe of a child. In my opinion this friend is not right.

They're saying Stephan probably drugged her so he could SA her. He probably slipped something in her drink to make her pass out and not remember anything. He may have been doing this for years and this time she overdosed.
No one is saying the girl was a secret junkie, for crying out loud. It's common for predators to use drugs, and we know for a fact that there was a predator inside the house abusing here. So the THEORY that Stephan might have been using drugs to SA her and gave her a little bit too much (causing her to OD and thus making it necessary to dispose the body) makes TOTAL SENSE.

Josh is an absolute creep, just like Sterns. The way he talks so flippantly about a child that was murdered and sexually abused is off putting to say the least. Also to state Madeline may have just engaged in something willingly with the egg donor and demon is just a weird, pathetic way of wording things. Tired of these friends. I want to see this investigation ramp up so we can get real answers, and closure for Madeline.
I believe Jenn is involved but currently the only one with definitive evidence against him is Stephan; this man barely acts like he’s disgusted by the fact he was friends with an actual pedophile.

They haven't charged him with murder yet, because Florida passed a law for capital death penalty, on what was done to Madeline found on his phone. Yep he will face the death penalty for the SA on a child. They can take all the time they need on bringing in murder charges.

I was actually surprised they charged him with capital sexual battery already. It's a new law so charging that may have been a mistake.
Our constitution provides that no person shall be brought to trial for a capital crime except upon indictment of a grand jury.

We have a famous and tragic case of little William Tyrrell. A 3 year old child that’s never been found 8 years on. At first the whole country was looking for a kidnapped child. Police now believe the foster parents caused his disappearance but are struggling to bring the evidence needed and unable to bring charges

I can imagine the shock Sterns’ friends are feeling. The stuff on his phone was horrendous, and apparently he had been abusing Madeline since she was 11 years old. I think the police are taking their time with charging him for her murder. They have him in custody on the phone charges, so they are waiting for her autopsy results to charge him and get all their ducks in a row. I’d say they knew her cause of death when they found her but are in no rush due to the other charges. He’s going away for life undoubtedly. He needs to be caged and never let loose in public again.

Yes, this was a seriously unplanned disposal.
I think an overdose is what took Maddie out. They, Stephan and Jennifer were not expecting it.
If she overdosed or committed suicide there was no reason for either of them to dispose of the body. Something with the dead body would have to tie either or both of them into it. Very definitely not an experienced murder, if it turns out to be that. Full panic and body dump. Very obvious. Not even a grave dug. If he or she didn't do something criminal they could have called police and let them examine everything. In removing her body he set himself up for them to find evidence of child abuse. Until that report is released we all guess until the cows come home, so to speak. Bizarre case.
There’s literally ZERO proof of an overdose out of all possibilities this seems like the least possible scenario given the info at the moment 😑
The assumption is that she OD because they used drugs to sexually assault her, but lost their hand this time. Remember, we already know that he had been abusing her for years, in her own house. Many predators drug their victims to lower resistance. That's why they would still have to dispose the body in this scenario.
Law enforcement said they called at 8pm but jennifer said they called before 5.

This was really interesting. This guy seems super trustworthy and genuine. This really makes it easier to see how these bad things go unnoticed for so long. It’s really terrifying. I feel compassion for this “friend” of Stefan. I can’t imagine how unsettling this whole thing has been for him.
I thought it was weird when she said the dogs would sniff her out, it just seemed strange to me.

Josh made a lot more sense this part 2 than during the first part of his interview. I was happy to have changed my opinion on his reaction. It clarified that he is in shock and had no idea. But he also admits to things looking very bad for SS. This was good to follow up with. Thanks GH!

That would change everything if Jennifer did bring her daughter into her intimacy with Stephan. I did hear that a sister of Jennifer did admit to a friend the abuse was permissible by Jennifer because they all slept on the same bed at some point. I cannot imagine how diabolic the mother is. Then, the sister found out and never reported it to the police.

When i hear these friends speak of him, some long term, and they are shocked. I think he could have fooled Jen, too. 🤷♂️
Predators are good at manipulating & very deceptive.
I noticed that when she said “we”, the diddler was in the background. Yet when she corrected herself, it was from a different perspective, and I wondered if he were gone at that point, and so she felt comfortable telling the truth. Because he was obviously lurking in the background to assert coercion over her while being interviewed.
Basically, I think the fact that the diddler was coercing her into going along with a story of his concoction is more than obvious at this point.
If she had much to do with the actual abuse perpetrated upon her daughter by the diddler, she would likely be in custody by now.
I don’t believe rumours that she “watched”. It would be almost unprecedented for a mother to consent & willingly watch the sexual assault of her own daughter. I mean really unprecedented. It’s just not going to happen.
Not saying she didn’t know or suspect something, but some people just want to make salacious claims. We don’t need to make the poor girls ordeal anymore salacious than it already is, right. Like that’s pretty demented.
In the end, if the truth comes out, I expect it to be that Jennifer’s actions will not be well received by the public, but that she’s more likely to be seen as another victim of this diddler. Remember, diddlers need to put a lot of time and effort into selecting just the right mother, who has no self esteem, a macabre sense of morals, and who responds to threats in a way that suggests she can be easily dominated and coerced and controlled. She is first on his list of victims, because children have people guarding them. He will have tried his very hardest to find a guardian that will not do her job properly, otherwise the whole thing is a waste of his time.
How could he get her in the car without anyone seeing him? Where are the cameras, that would show that?
Maybe because it wasn't at their condo when he killed her. There's no evidence that he ever brought her home that night.
@@LydiaTheDog-op9wyHe drove back with her in the car, after supposedly dropping her off near the school in the morning, but the police think she was already deceased. We don't know if he took her out of the car, or maybe just ran inside and left her in the car, but then left again, and was gone for hours.

Thanks for these insights and thoughts, Gray and Josh. It's bewildering all of this: is Jenn involved, isn't she? I still tend towards her not being aware of anything that was going on, but time will tell.
Like i said in your live the other day, my friend's neice died at age 9 in a somewhat similar situation. The person who drugged her and apparently overdosed Sam by accident, was only known in passing in the community by her mother. He was trusted by many single mothers to babysit their children, but he'd never babysat Samantha. Her mother would come home from work roughly ten minutes after Samantha got home from school. The day this occurred, Sam went downstairs to the newsagent next door to their block of flats, to buy some lollies. In that tiny window she encountered this friendly man who gave her a can of coke and she obviously wandered off with him. She was drugged by Michael Guider and sexually abused. His story when he was eventually identified, was that he had given her too much of the sedative and she'd passed away. In all the years he was in prison, my friend's sister wrote to him to find out where her child's body was, but to this day he's never revealed that information and he's now been released from prison. I think he was charged with manslaughter, however a cell mate of his said he'd told him that Sam had woken up and he'd strangled her because she could identify him. We don't know which is true. What did come out, was that he'd been drugging and abusing many, many little girls, some of whom have given interviews. He should never have been released of course in our opinion and it beggars belief what this guy had been getting away with for years. People in his local area trusted him, as I said. If you're interested in the case, the child's name was Samantha Knight.
Anyway, I wonder if Stephan had been drugging Madeline for his own sick purposes for years and this time it went wrong. It could also have been an intentional homicide because she was pregnant or going to tell, as you and others have suggested. The timing is so strange with this being the day after her 13th birthday party. The problem will be getting the truth out of a practiced liar and pervert, though at least they have Maddie's body in this case. My mother's instincts tell me Jenn couldn't have been involved in such horror, but perhaps im being naive there and its wishful thinking.
I must say, in photographs I've seen of Madeline, she often looks almost hungover, so i strongly suspect he'd been drugging her. Jenn seems thick as two short planks to me, so it wouldn't surprise me if she was completely oblivious to the goings on. As I said, time will tell.

Unfortunately & regrettably you didn’t elaborate or inquire for further clarification on the seemingly shared living situation, but friend is essentially indicating that living in this FOUR bedroom, 2-floor condo was primarily Jenn’s family’s, perhaps Maddy’s grandmother &/or aunt, & then Jenn & Maddy lived there as well, and I presume Stephan came & went, staying with Jenn. That’s what I’m getting based on Josh’s reflections above. That living scenario would would make a bunch of things make sense…

The mother Jen Soto , her father bought her the townhouse when Maddie was born. It was to help with income by renting a couple of the bedrooms out.
He tells that they were a kinky couple, and that may be the reason for them being together.
I think the boyfriend had mom convinced that Maddie had just run away and not to worry…. Maybe that why she seemed calmer than most mothers would be.. just a thought tho.

Is plan B available in Florida? If so I would think the Plan B pill would be a whole lot easier to take care of pregnancy, versus murder of a 13-year-old. If the pill is not available then it seems more likely he’d be freaking …just a thought.
