In this video I show you the Makeblock xLight. The xLight is an electronics kit that comes with numerous ways to program with light. It has a night light with numerous pieces of acrylic that animate in different ways. It also comes with a traditional LED strip as well as a copper LED strip that looks great for decorating your home, or a Christmas tree.
The Makeblock xLight animates based on sound such as music and comes preinstalled with numerous animations that can be triggered from the included remote control or the free mobile phone apps available for Apple and Android.

Hmm. I wonder if you could use that as like a spectrum analyzer with the bounce music light acrylic. Wouldn't be all that accurate though with the microphone. If it could sample the audio output from your pc though that'd be a different story.
I’d have to really wrap my brain around that. I’d need more LEDs to do something really nice.
