The box I made is only 11 inches tall and the projector is at around 6 inches, to make up for it I just tilted the projector upward to move the faces higher up and onto the pumpkins. I would try tilting yours first to see if you can get it to line up before building something taller for the projector maybe?
The speck has two connections, there is a tiny 3.5m jack next to the hdmi on the back it looks like a headphone jack. The speck includes a cable that has composite connections on one and and 3.5m jack on the other. just simply plug that cable into the speck then plug the composite cable from the projector into that one. The cable for the projector actually includes the necessary female to female adapters to allow you to plug both cables into one another.
Most arts and crafts store sell fake carveable pumpkins this time of year. The one in the middle is a "funkin" and is my favorite of all of them. The two taller ones are from Micheal's. I have since switched them all out for "funkins" that I bought from Hobby Lobby

My dream projector is at least 2000 lumens and has a built-in HDMI player off of a USB thumb drive. The big manufacturers out there have not gotten the hint yet, as far as I know.

I tried setting up everything last night and I'm having issues because the ground it titled. I have pretty much the exact same set up as you. The box that the pumpkins are sitting on is 2 ft. high. How high should the other piece (with the projector) be and also how far do you think. I think I might need to build something else that is higher. Would it look funny to have a taller tomb stone with the projector inside of it?

I got it at target but Amazon sells it as well and the price keeps going up and down, I bought a second one from amazon a few weeks ago for 98 bucks the price has gone up a bit but keep checking as it keeps changing
there is a smartphone app called Geek for android. Its powered by Wish.com. You can buy really good, compact projectors for cheap. Just bear in mind most of it comes from china so expect up to a month for shipping.

The cables can be found on amazon I cant post the link but search for 3M MP 160/180 Pocket Projector Composite Cable they are 18 bucks and include everything you need to hook the projector up to any device using composite connections!
It depends on what you are looking to do with it. If its a singing pumpkin projection I think you will be fine with 100 lumens. Really any small projection should be good with 100 lumens if you are looking to do a large area like a window then you will need something with more lumens. Hope this helps!!

I can do full window projections onto a white bed sheet and it looks great from outside! I know a lot of the effects DVDs say that you need 1800-2000 lumens minimum, but I get great effects from my cheap 800 lumen projector. Hope this helps!
so you guys are saying the 800 lumen projector is good? right now the one ill get is probably 1000 but im only using it for the singing pumpkins- the reason i want it 1000 is so in the future i can then use it for window scenes if i wish- you guys should post videos of your singing pumpkins with your 800 lumen projectors

Is 80 lumens bright enough? I just picked up a cheap projectors that is 100 lumens. The dvd requires 2000 lumens. Thanks for posting your work.
