Johanna Jansson är en sångerska och låtskrivare som tidigt började ägna sig åt musik. Redan i tioårsåldern skrev hon sin första låt ”Nobody Knows Me” på piano, och med kompisarna i skolan bildade hon gruppen Dizzy Woop.
År 2014 började hon skapa musik under artistnamnet ”Dotter”, ett artistnamn som är inspirerat av att hon ser sig som en ”dotter till moder jord”, med tanke på hennes starka engagemang för natur, djur och miljön. Hennes debutsingel blev ”My Flower”, och fyra år senare stod hon på Melodifestivalens scen för första gången med låten ”Cry”.

Nästa år var Johanna tillbaka som låtskrivare, denna gång till Lina Hedlunds ”Victorious”, som slutade elva i finalen. Hon medverkade också som mellanakt i Andra chansen 2019 i en duett med Måns Zelmerlöw till låten ”Walk With Me”.

Move is a better song and even Shout it out and Kingdom come sounds better than this, in my opinion. This is too monotonous musicwise in the chorus and it depends to much on staging in my opinion. I liked the song Cry better. A good song must have the whole package. A good melody, meaning catchy, unique or beautiful and epic, interesting and important message and good voice/s and performance/s on stage in its whole and if the staging is good that is a bonus. The song must stand on its on but I like that there are now more women than men in the final so far so any woman can win, I don´t mind. I hope for Mariette to win this year though as that would be fair even if there are better songs in the final in my opinion.

I believe that Bulletproof is a contender for the ESC title if it wins Melfest. My reason to believe this is that the song is strong, the performance by Dotter is strong and the staging is awesome. I also think that the song is catchy, I find myself humming it several times a day.
But I guess that it’s not for everyone, but we’ll see how it goes.

What makes this song stand out for me is how everything centers around its core - the narrative of the lyrics. The perfomance and staging are cleverly tied together with simple but meaningful dance moves combined with the full use of the stage light and nothing else - no dancers, no distracting background props etc. I would say that the only and most important "prop" Dotter is using is the mosaic "military" top. Besides creating a dramatic light show, it plays a significant symbolic part of the story of being hurt. Her heart is figuratively being shot, the red lights (blood) reflected on her chest (wound). But in the end, the lights changes from red to white along the lines "the choir sings forever 'rest in peace'". Did she finally find peace?
Or did she learn from her mistakes and turned bulletproof ("bulletproof when you're gathering up your army"), ricocheting the bullets shot at her, hence the white lights?
The performance is no doubt good and well thought out (despite some thinking that they would go blind, get epilepsi of the light or thinks that her shorts are too revealing - c'mon, they balance out her overall covered upper body part). It doesn't treat us, the audience, like idiot consumers. It makes us, at least me, ponder and reflect over the symbolism.
