Nice review and indeed a great fun car which I have with 6-speed manual gear (dutch version). A bit of a strange policy Kia has in such different version allover the globe. In your video I saw no keyless entry and start/stop button which I have on my car. Much nicer and gives a premium feeling. Also you introduced the GT-Line with his Led foglights and in the driving video the foglights from the regular model ;) But totally agree driving this GT-Line is all and all fun and makes me regularly sneek out the door and drive some time in de neighbourhood.
The only footage Kia supplied me with was the one of the car without the correct fog lights, but otherwise it is pretty much the same. Kia and most manufacturers do make quite different versions of the same car depending on what market they are going to. In Australia we often miss out on great features to keep the cost down. Thanks for watching!
Oh! Yeah. I picked up my Kia Rio GT Line three days ago, and, the drive home was smooth, and, delightful. A bit nervy with all the bells,and,whistles,but,overall...brilliant. Looks good.Sounds good, and, interior finish is lovely. 🙂 If not plastic..what else?? 🤔🤔Just curious on what your alternative would be. Nice report though.😉
I bought a Kia Rio a little while ago (2nd hand) and it came with a dash cover. Definitely tones down the plasticiness of the dash. Maybe thats something you could look at buying.
The 1.4 and 1.0 are BOTH 74km. 1.4 peaks at 6000rpm whilst the 1.0 peaks earlier at 4500rpm. The real win on the 1.0 is a considerable jump in torque (172Nm @ 1,500 - 4,000rpm).
There are different versions of this engine 100hp (172Nm), 120hp (172nm), 120hp (200Nm) that are available in Europe (+ Mild Hybrid option on top of that). But it might be different in Australia.
Look at the rpm for that power. On the 2021+ models they say 74kw @ 4500rpm. But the older 2017-2020 model its 88kw @ 6300rpm. I’d guess they’re the same output.
Very good review, thank you and love the car !!! Greetings from Belgium, Europe.
Thanks for watching!
7 yrs warranty. Lit!
Hey fuys in your opinion does this still hold up as a good mild hubrid option? Also debating the Renault Clio hybrid as well - thoughts?
Great video very interesting and informative makes for a great Wark around cheers 👍👌🇦🇺
No problem 👍 Thanks for watching!
Where is the turbo located on these cars?
Beautiful
Does it have cruise control?
Yes it has adaptive cruise control. Thanks for watching!
Which is the better option to buy… Hyundai i30 base model or Kia Rio GT Line?
Kia Rio GT line. No contest. Better to drive and a 7 year warranty.
@@4wheelsandaseat thanks very much I appreciate it. Darren

Just some softer plastic would be nice :) The design is good, it's just a bit harsh and grey. Thanks for watching!

88kw not 74kw .
According to the Kia website it's 74: www.kia.com/content/dam/kwcms/au/en/images/pdf/rio/kia-rio-brochure.pdf
