This ONE Change Turned My BX2380 Into a Snow Plowing MONSTER | Plowing a Foot of Snow | Kubota BX

  • We got almost a foot of snow again! I take the back drag off the Snowpusher because it was cramping my style. It makes a wild difference! It pushes bigger piles of snow with ease, and it seems to do it faster.
    The tractor is a BX 2380, R14 tires, and the standard bucket with R2 Edge Tamers added. I am running a Landpride SPL0548 Snowpusher / Push Box

      I'm in Utah we can get get good snow, it doesn't get as built up on my five acres. I don't necessary need a tractor at 40k plus. I can move snow with a DR brush mower, with a blade. I watch many neighbors use ATV with a blade for over 10 years. Now some are buying tractors. My land and my driveway doesn't need to be completely cleared. I even have started to turn my mail off a month at a time now. Don't even need to clear mailbox for delivery now. I will follow your channel, being informative is always good.
      Where is your Homestead? How many acres?

    Taking the back stage off was definitely a good idea seeing as how your running a rear blade. I’m in western Ontario and run a TYM T474 with a snow plow and blower but the snow plow and rear blade was really nice for the first few snow falls. Looks like y’all have a fair bit more snow than we do, been a pretty disappointing year for snow here.

    Heck yeah that works a whole lot better, you added capacity to the pusher. And like you said when you have a back blade really don't need the back-drag feature. I have a 86'' hydraulic blade that works good for my setup and I wouldn't be without it. I tried SO many plow setups from ATV to truck/plow before I could afford a tractor. Should have gone just straight to tractor, but live and learn, right? I kinda still wanna have a BX or LX bota with a front snowblower for kicks and giggles.....always been fascinated by that setup.

      Another thing that help a lot in my case is that the snow blower put weight on the back. That snowbox have tendency to drive the front of the tractor. I agree that the backdrag hinders the performance because of the snow collecting inside the box pushing upwards and doesn't scrape or roll the snow as good. When I had a HLA pusher, I considered taking the backdrag off for this same reason as you mentioned.

      I never put mine up. I made that mistake once when they dropped my BX1870 off when new and promptly put a crease in my garage door upper trim. I haven't tried to see if the BX2380 is same height or not. I wish they were a little shorter like on the older ones that were non-foldable... as far as backdrag goes, really haven't had any deep snow since I've had it. If we ever get more than a foot and a half, a Honda track snowblower will be used...

    Nice plow. In this part of Canada it's really snowy. The plow is a great tool but you really need a snow blower to make the plow complete. Together, they work great with a sub compact in deep snow conditions. The plow alone just wouldn't cut it in these parts.

    • @BigGuyLittleTractor
      @BigGuyLittleTractor  8 месяцев назад

    Does the rear blade have a floating function, like the front end loader?

    • @BigGuyLittleTractor
      @BigGuyLittleTractor  Год назад

      It basically only floats. The 3 point hitch doesn’t have any down pressure, so if you put it all the way down, it moves up and down freely. It actually works really well to scrape things down.

      When I bought my used Kubota BX25D TLB, it came with the front snowblower and a Curtis cab.
      In the winter I leave the backhoe on the tractor to give it more weight, which gives more traction.
      I use an ATV with a front plow to push the snow to the sides of the driveway, then I blow the snow into the forest.
      I'm thinking of getting a rear blade to replace the ATV, so I can stay warm in the cab.

    • @BigGuyLittleTractor

      I am sure you can do it all with a tractor. The back blade works pretty well most of the time. Really big snow falls are a bit tougher with it, but it works. Facing backwards while Plowing isn’t my favourite though.
