In this video, I give my favourite 4 tips for plowing snow with the tractor bucket, using the Kubota BX2380 Subcompact Tractor. The tractor is a BX 2380, R14 tires, and the standard bucket with R2 Edge Tamers added. I am running a Landpride SPL0548 Snowpusher / Push Box #bigguylittletractor #kubota #bx2380 #kubotabx #edgetamers #tractor #snowpusher

Yeah check belts and the voltage at the battery while running. Should be 13-14 volts while running. This will tell you if the alternator is trying to charge the battery.
Check your belts for tightness.
I think this was the answer. I tightened the belt to alternator. When I first started it, the light still came on with no tachometer, but the last few times, I have no light, and the tachometer registers right away.
Check your alternator output
Thanks. Will do. I am thinking the belt could use tightening.
Hi good work love it your video (Ty Ron
Thank you!
Allo Guy from Kapuskasing love your pusher cheaper but the bucket better and faster Happy New Year (Ty Ron
Happy New Year!
I usually drop it to the ground. Hit float then take it out of float so there is just a touch of weight on the front tires. Also use the side brakes if the tractor has. Grewt video man
My front mount 56" snow blower likes to shear off the input shaft. Not the shear pins the actual driven shaft going into the gearbox. I'm on my 3rd now and it will be my last. I think I will be fabricating an insert for the bucket to increase capacity to make it more efficient.
I have heard of the shear pins going but not that one.
@ I’m not sure why it’s a problem. Both times it failed I was just in low gear clearing 6-10” of fresh snow without any ice or chucks or hidden debris. It was on a Mahindra Emax 25 so it’s a pretty low power application. I just upgraded and bought a TYM 474 48hp tractor. I’m reluctant to go the blower route again. If I do it with be an inverted drag style and it will be a heavy duty unit.
That thing could easily handle a 8' pusher
I would love to find out. Someone would have to lend it to me though.
@ I have a 10' if you wanna try that! 😂👍🏼 where do you live? I know a place near me just north of the Okanagan where they're going pretty cheap 👍🏼 they have a couple 8 footers left still good shape, but the older models, no trip features but 🤷🏽♂️
@ sorry, just remembered the video says Ontario haha
I think a 10 would be quite a stretch for the BX. It would depend on the amount of snow though.
@ yes for sure I agree, but an 8' is perfect for most snowfalls 👍🏼 my 10' isn't for my Kubota lol but I can push it around no problem!
What would be Best ,, is to move to a warmer climate , No Snow
Who would want that?!
Does the BX have the brake that can be split or does it have the single peddle? If it has the split, peddle then split it and use the brakes to help steer
Just the single pedal on the BX
@ bummer my B2301 has the split and it is awesome. I use my bucket but you have my interest peaked
The efficiency of those attachments change when one has a larger tractor. I run a pusher up front on my Massey 1835m and a rear blade turned around and angled on the rear for our driveway. The bucket does not work very good considering the amount of snow that ends up sticking inside and the fact one needs to constantly dump it.
Even with the smaller one, I find the bucket inefficient (unless I add boards to the side to keep the snow in).
No to a snowblower if you have a gravel driveway.
Think I will shoot rocks everywhere?
@@BigGuyLittleTractorTouch it to the ground then lift it up 2 inches, So you leave a little snow 😂
Dove poter trovare questa lama per caricatore frontale
It’s a Landpride Snowpusher. I got mine from the Kubota dealership. Kubota owns Landpride I believe.
Bucket Is Year Round. The Pusher Is A One Trick Pony
Nice explanation! Do you use 4 wheel drive with the chains on the back? I just put chains on my B2301 last night. They say not to use 4x4 with the chains unless you have them all the way around? Seems like as long as slippage can happen it shouldn’t be a problem?
I do use it. Honestly I probably don’t have to. The front wheels aren’t doing much work with them on.
@ thanks for the quick reply.
I like using my bucket I can stack it. I don’t have to buy a snow pusher. The time is so minimal. I don’t understand why everyone complains about the time the back blade you can’t stack it nowhere near as high. I used the four wheeler before, but my back can’t take it any longer. I’ve learned how to stack with it. It’s just too hard on my back.
The bucket is fun!
The best snow pusher is a snow blower. Hands down
Slower I bet, but I would like to try one out
I like a snowblower, but I have a gravel driveway 300' long that gets loaded with sticks and tree branches all winter. Lots of snapped shear pins. A pusher is nice, but not worth a few thousand dollars. It's going to be a Bucket with edge tamers as our plow truck has been relieved of duty.
You need a snow blower
I am currently looking for one
Watched this before but lost the video when I thought about doing it. I was looking at another plowing video and this old one just showed up. I have the materials so I'm gonna build one tonight in my heated shop. I also have a rear blade and I put a 5 foot ABS plastic pipe on the bottom to protect my gravel drive and my lawn. It lasted 3 winters and for the first time it fell off and is buried somewhere in one of my deep piles. I ordered a new pipe till I find the old one in the spring. I simply cut a strip down the middle and pound it on the cutting bar. I have the BX 1880 but I sure wish I would have gotten the 2380 so I could have a backhoe.
Sounds like fun! The 2380 doesn’t have a subframe for the backhoe. You have to get the specific model (23S?).
thank you very much you just made my mind up for me
That’s why I became a tractor influencer
When was this was it this year
This past weekend
Ever considered a kioti?
Considered? Sure. I am not a one tractor type of person. I would be happy to test out anything.
You are getting creative. Great video again.
Thank you!
Is that your wife or daughter. Need to work with them. Funny video awesome job again. God bless.
Wife. The first and last time she drove it (so far).
You definitely cemented the concept in my mind. I was looking for a snow plow, but the snow box makes a whole lot more sense with having a loader. The long snow slides are so much better on a stone driveway. I can see a plow for a long distance, but for short runs, this looks to be the better idea.
I like it better for short runs. I have the grader blade for longer ones too.
Edge Tamers for me.
They work well!
I had a b series....I need a bx, I think it's the perfect size
I love it
Awesome short. Keep up the great work.
Thanks. It’s been a snowy weekend here
@BigGuyLittleTractor lucky.
I have had a similar setup sans pusher for abot 5 years now. Long driveway with large landing. The long part is easy with the rear blade. The landing with garage and cars is a time killer. I don't see the pusher being a whole lot better tbh. What I do recommend is a standalone snowblower. Not as fun but indispensable in my NH snow removal arsenal. Gets around all the obstacles and makes clean paths to wood piles and outbuildings.
I sold my blower. I want one for the Kubota though
Once again you have snow and I don't. Good video.
Finally!
Hell yea, brother! It's pushing season!
@NobodyFresh southern MN just not ready yet. Hope it's not like last year
It sure is!
@BigGuyLittleTractor tell the weather that.
That's my song. Lol
Mine too
Nice 👍
Thanks
Thank you!
Nice! I just bought some for my new Edge tamers as well, ( all at once of course. ) Can't wait to see how they do!
They hold up pretty well honestly. I carry pretty good sized logs with them.
We get a ton of snow here in Seward, Alaska. Ive been plowing with my 6 Wheeler and straight plow for the past 10 years. I unknowingly, upgraded to a set up like you have. Looking forward to trying it out this winter. It will be nice to stack the snow higher instead of it building up and closing us in. Thanks
I hope you have fun with it. Stacking the snow makes a big difference.
i have a full function plow, but i think a pusher would be nice.
I sometimes wonder if I would like a plow!
The negative with a snow pusher is it will sit rusting for 7-8 months out of the year being a one purpose implement.
True. True of any snow implement I guess. I think it really depends on the amount of snow you get
I used to use a four wheeler with a plow on but after half of the winter, I ran out of room to push the snow to. The yard was getting pretty full. Now I just use a snow blower to clear off the sidewalks and driveway apron, so I am able to blow it farther so no build up. And my plow is a larger homemade unit that uses and electric winch to lift it. I have more power/weight so I can push snow out into the field and keep the yard clear all season. A tractor with a bucket is more time consuming (and without a cab, your sitting out in the cold)
Try true. I love winter though…
I'll take the loader over the snow plow. If you've got a lot of snow, you can pile it way easier. A cab enclosure is on my wish list. Meanwhile I wear a really serious Trans Alaska suit.
What is the title of this song and its performer please?
I wrote and produced this with the help of AI. It is my new theme song. Thoughts?
The full song is here: ruclips.net/video/A921iPw1f84/видео.htmlsi=Dr7Qucnn49_xVFCn
@BigGuyLittleTractor I love it.
Great idea, have rear snow thrower but just refuse to keep distorting my body going backwards especially just off knee replacement surgery and a snow pusher would set around here for 8 months.
Thanks! I would love a snow blower to add to it. Probably the next purchase.
How cute
Thanks!
Gotta delete and not subscribe there's a very lame laugh
I will leave the laugh track off for you next time
You so funny.
Thanks
What kind of snow depth are you able to tackle with this setup? Been looking at something like this for an area that tends to drift pretty badly.
I haven’t met the limit with chains on yet, but it would depend the distance you are pushing. A snowblower is likely better for really large drifts if you have some distance to go
Nice to have you back. Be good. God bless you and your family.
Time to get ready for plowing season!
Sooooo, I’m in the market for a compact tractor and I didn’t want to spend the money on a blower ( front or rear ) or something else, I wanted to just go with the bucket for snow removal. Well seeing you temporarily turn your bucket into a pusher made me think and really like that idea, it could work for my driveway and neighbors I plow. I know you’re showing us the pusher you bought in this vid but I like the idea of turning your bucket into one with boards or maybe even something with some more support to use all winter long. Great vid man!
Thanks! Have fun with it.
I have not personally tried clearing the driveway with just a bucket but from most of the RUclips videos available, a bucket is not recommended as it is very likely you will gouge the driveway whether it is asphalt, concrete or stone. For that reason the pusher is recommended over a bucket. You do not want to be spending your money repairing your neighbors driveways in the spring.
@gmeck100 edge tamers change that dramatically
Around me we have too many leaves to mulch them all in every fall but I do mulch the majority in the lawn and then make a pass with the bagger. Such a great way to reduce your number of hauls in a day and it helps the lawn a lot. Then come Spring I dethatch and clean the rest of the leaves that fell after the cleanup
Good method for sure
i love your idea with the boards on the basic bucket i wonder if you had a 4 in 1 bucket whether you could find an even better method
I have no idea. I have never used one. I would love to give it a try though
Just got one. Looking forward to trying it out
Have fun!
A nice setup!
Thanks
Always wanted a snow pusher never thought about putting exercise on my bucket watch cheaper than buying a snow pusher
It works better than I thought
