Sick video man my system sounded good but lacked clarity because of too much bass took your advice and set my hpf to 80 now she's got that nice clean thump in my techno beats thanks heaps man
Some people are never satisfied man, great video thanks for the help, the settings you show on screen sound the best. Good quick to the point thanks again.
Helpful tip, once you find that "perfect" eq setting, take a picture of it with your phone of trace the screen on a piece of paper for the future if your setting are lost. Lost my setting once when car was in shop for a recall and my settings were all lost and took a couple of weeks of listening to get it just right again.
Thanks for the video. I have the same head unit and didn't notice the high pass filter setting. It's now set to 80hz as is subwoofer setting. Whole system sounds so much better..... Thanks.
hpf is used so your mid driver does not play the notes the sub is meant to play. basically cuts the bass out of the main speakers to make the audio clearer and more balanced
Bro you spoke nothing on how to set the EQ. You barely knew your topic. You gave me more knowledge CDs vs USBs. The only real way to truly tune a vehicle is with an RTA, white noise, and test tones. Hey bro I just decked out my little corolla haha ..got a single din kenwood deck w bluetooth...switched out door speakers for some decent pioneers front and back....and got a custom box with 2 twelves by alpine and rockford amp and some top of line jl cables....and for the life of me I cant tune it. I only liaten to rap....shoulf I 0 my treble and tune up my mid and just 0 out all base inside cabin ....and just knock up the woofer ? I like hearing the rap nice and clear with a heavy kick ...but not to drown out the vocals....and its so hard to get it perfect....and I only want just a tiny bit wirh my internal speker base so its not a huge contrast from trunk to cabin. Thanks bro I really appreciare it...hopefully ill hear back from ya....I spent over 3k and im so lost....
i have 30 hrs into tuning my system. lol so what is lacking rate now? if i were you turn you bass rate off. make sure loudness and spf is all turned off. tune your vocals likei show in the video. then tune mids. then tune bass last. set hbf and lpf to 80hrz when tuning amp and deck avoid bass boost at all cost it will make everything muddy usually
Okay sounds great ! Thank you so much brother ! Well I turned up my mids last night....inrernal bass and treb off....and even eith subs at 0 that already right there alone made them sound alot better. I need to get some shit to stabalize my plastic too....stuff rattles hard...but yeah I will do what u said thanm you so much for your time
This does help a bit. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that came with the Infinity Gold speakers, but the back door speakers busted, so I recently replaced them with Pioneer 6.5"s. (they are coaxial, which I just learned what that means, which helps me understand why I don't have near as much low end). So, they sound pretty good most of the time, but some of the really heavy, punchy, hard rock or really low resonant bass sounds like trash, so I guess I need to adjust the high pass filter to around 80? (also, currently I have no sub, but in a couple weeks, I will have a Rockford Fosgate 10" (400 watt max/ 200 watt rms). Any other input you could give me would be greatly appreciated :-)
Just bought a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 4 Door and it came w that exact deck. Was tuning it and had NO CLUE what each Hz option represented what sound characteristic. I have 2 “Custom” user settings and I’d like to dedicate Custom1 for the top ON, and set up Custom 2 for when the top is OFF! Any suggestions for getting best sound possible in an open air conditions?
great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. also, is that an android phone you have connected? i cant get my gs5 to connect to my pioneer. did u use cd mu200 cable from pioneer? thanks again for the time homey
Like the video and I know quite a bit of it but I'm stumped on an fh-x700bt by pioneer battery was disconnected and it went back in to demo mode and can't get my mids and highs back to the right settings the pre set eq is limited the amp powers it and no sub hooked up jus for clarity
Hey i have a AVH x2800 bs and i have a sub with and amp in the back i was wonder what are the best audio setting to put for the best sounds. I find it does distort a lot and i listen to mostly edm house music, where bass and tone matter.
exactly! use th subwoofer option to control the sub but do nut use the bass option that add bass to your speakers which will wreak them faster so leave bass low as possible or max 2
Hey there. thanks for the share. very nice video up here :) i just bought a pioneer head unit, the AVH X 7500 BT i mostly listen to Trance & Progressive Music, and i'm trying to adjust the equaliser settings. can i use those settings (custom 2) of yours? i don't have an amplifier nor a subwoofer at the moment. i do like a little bass from the speakers but not too much. which settings do you recommend me adjusting starting from your setting (custom 2). thanks regards
I have a Avh-x3500 bhs like the one in this video when I 1st got it had it installed by a car electronic shop the sound was great with my boss speakers it was so great I didn't need a sub woofer but after my car battery went dead the sound also went dead I tried to adjust the EQ but it still sounds like a alarm Clock please help me out
I am new to this stuff. I figure that this might be a good way to start working on cars. But is all head unit compatible? Would i have to run new wires?
cody klusman to do a head unit you usually need 3 things. 1. Wiring harness or vehicle interface harness. 2. A dash kit to make it fit in the trim of vehicle 3. Antenna adapter. Som decks are easy others are horrible
I have two sets of 6.5 Cadence components and a pair of 6×9's. My question is I'm going to run a 4-channel amp on the four components speakers, would I need another amp for the 6x9's? Thanks for input!!!
I have a Sony 601bt. It has a separate output for subwoofers. What I want to know is if the EQ on the HU has any effect on the sub output? Or is it completely separate.
I have Kenwood decks double din and single din and they all have 13 band eqs. I like to get the most bass while having very high quality sound. I have to hear the separation of all the instruments. I don't have any subs yet and I drive both a Chevy 4 Dr HD and cab and a half Chevy trucks. What would be a good setting for my 13 eq bands? I listen to rap, hip hop, rock, country, country rap, dance, techno, etc. Thanks for ur advice!
😂🤣😂🤣😂. Why the hell does he say it SOOO awkwardly, and why do people frequently say a word that they CAN’T pronounce over and over again in their videos????????
hey dude thanks for this video it really does help out a lot! I am having a proble with my system it sounds like ass I was hoping you can help some please? its mainly in my bass with the sub.
what are your sub amp settings at? deck settings for sub? sub and amp make and model? did you build the box? what sounds like ass narrow it down a bit.
Ur awesome bro. I listen to rock, hip hop, country, I’m after strong but clear bass and I am not running a subwoofer. So I need some help adjusting a custom equalizer setting. I have poineer agh-4500nex. My mids for front are 6.5 focal components and my rear speakers are 4 inch coaxial focal mids. So it can take some power and sounds awesome but my settings is off. I need help with adjusting equalizer to provide clarity and some bass because I’m not running a sub.
Thanks.. Your video really helped me out.. Took me a min. To figure out how to hook my amp up to my dvd player. Cause my speakers was cutting off my dvd player when it was by it self. Took me 15 differnt video to find help with what i needed. So Thanks.
i have avh2800bs , about to put in 2 rockford p1"s ... if i make my high pass filter starting filtering out another below 200hz for my highs will it have effect on my subs getting the signal below 200hz beings that there is a seperate setting for subwoofer?
I am having problem with the base sound. I have a pioneer avh-x490bs with kicker 6.5 doors and 6x9 rears 10" sub connected to KXA 800.5 kicker amp. I want more base
Hi, I'm new at this stuff to be honest. I'm using an Alpine 149BT that has a 9band EQ built in.. I'd like to adjust my vocals as well. Could you point me in the right direction on how to use my EQ? Thanks for your time.
hey man, nice video ! I just understant a few things and now i know why my sub sound's like crap sometimes.. I have a pioneer mvh 150ui, amp blaupunkt gta 2 special mk II 400w, woofer blaupunkt gt series (gtw 1200 i remember) arround 200w rms, 2 front speakers pioneer ts-g1722i, 2 stock tweeters and 2 stock 17cm back spearkers. Can u give me some tips on how to tune the sistem ? Curently i have hpf 80hz, +3 subwoofer settings, subwoofer normal and some "ear" settings on custom eq1..but i usualy just use the normal eq presettings. Thanks in advance
I have the same head unit in my 2012 Tacoma quad cab. 10 inch kicker comp vr, kicker dx500.1. Behind the back seat. I'm having trouble with my clarity. What settings on my eq, and the settings for my amp? Door speakers are factory.
If replacing the front door speakers is necessary what brand do you recommend? Components be good? There are tweeters at the top of the doors already from the factory.
hey man, i need some help. I got rid of my old system, i had 2 12s of kicker comps 250rms with a 800watt renegade amp. I liked it but i wanted something a bit more powerful because that system no longer wowed me. I want to find a good amp and subs that can suit most of the genres of music im lisening too. Mainly rap hip hop and electronic, also add some rock and very little metal. But i dont know what brands or sub size would directly fit the situation im in? Ex: ill listen to drank in my cup by kirko bangz, then maybe turn it to system of a down-vicinity of obscenity, then the way you do by rl grime or make damn sure by taking back sunday. I just want crystal clear sound with the songs im listening to so they sound amazing and have enough bass so when i turn it on im like, shit i forgot how strong these things were.
My amp doesn't get hot it runs 2 12s at 1ohm but it seems like its not giving enough power 1 notch below clipping" per clipping indicator on amp" its a mcx1100.1 memphos audio monoblock 4 guage wiring plus capacitor?? No clue when its up to clipping it pumps but doesn't even get warm??please help...
I have a kicker L7 sub and one of these Pioneer Double din DVD players. the bass sounds really good when the volume is low. but it starts to distort as I increase the volume. what am I doing wrong with the EQ?
I have a standard system I don't want to much of the extra gear I simply had no choice but to replace my stereo and I'm running into a clarity issue with the EQ I've tweaked it as much as I have patience for and now I'm stuck readjusting to every song I need help
Hi, what is the Loudness setting for, ? i'm getting lot of disturbing Bass, from your video i picked up that, it might be because of th High pass filter( it's at 60hz currently).
my friend has the same kind of stereo for his truck I push the button reset everything on the stereo how do I get it back to the way it was for a huge bass my friend has three l7 kickers 12 inch speakers and massive speakers total power output for the truck 10000 watt pioneer is very very sophisticated I love it if i push reset will that ruin the stereo I need to know the one person that did the adjustments told me I broke the stereo because the bass was off timing can this be fixed at all thank you so much in love watching your video I subscribe to you thank you my friend
Thanks for the basic info of this. I dont feel so lost in the sauce now. On another note, I see the Kenwood..top model... kdp-x997 has more adjustment capabilities and more rms, then the top of the line Pioneer Pioneer deh-x9500bhs and soon to be 9600bhs. (And, even if I dont count that it seems no matter which single din model Kenwood I look up videos on..There is a video on one not working. lol But, if I said.. Well, they have a two year warranty. I'll take my chance.) I still hear, by more, that Pioneers sound better. I dont really understand that. What is your thoughts?
ghostlyrich hey wsup just got watching your videos on tuning I have the pioneer 80prs and u know it has a 16band eq I need help n tuning cause I don't know the vocals/instruments what bands r for what thank u so much in advance my email eazyrida78@yahoo.com cell number 803 983 4389 I stay in Sumter sc

Hello i have pioneer head unit(AVH-X1690DVD), JBL amplifier GT -x646 , Front speakers JBL cs6c, Rear speakers JBL 959 , JBL GT-X1150T ... Can u please suggest me what all should be the equaliser settings for this assembly. like high pass filter, bass booster, source level, frequency , phase etc... i am music lover i need a good base in my car as i listen at higher sound. thank u
I have a Pioneer FHX-520UI Double Din and notice it has a Sub phase (ReV and Nor) What setting do I need to be on? I have a 2008 F150 Supercrew. 2 subs facing the floor under the back seat.
This something that you will need to play with on your own to find out which setting is best for your vehicle and its particular acoustics. Phase refers to the in and out movement of the waveform created when a voltage is applied to your speaker. Normal phase on your radio (technically polarity in this instance) would cause the speaker to move out with a positive voltage and in with a negative voltage when driven by your amplifier, creating sound in a particular phase. Reversing the phase would cause your head unit to send the opposite signal to the amplifier and would result in an opposite phase being generated by the speaker. Two speakers each in their own separate identical rooms with no other speakers around will sound exactly the same regardless of the polarity or phase. Two speakers side by side in the same room wired in the same polarity, will work together to create more sound in the same phase. Two speakers side by side in the same room wired with different polarity will work against each other and cause cancellation (which you don't want) in opposite phase. Where it gets complicated is that while polarity can instantly adjust the phase of a stationary speaker, simply moving the speaker around the room also affects it's phase in reference to the other speakers in the room. Cancellation due to phase in your vehicle is more complex because there are so many things for the sound to bounce off of. Inconsistencies can arise due to the distance of the subs from other speakers in the vehicle, objects in the vehicle such as bodies and seats, whether the windows are open, or pretty much any variable you can throw at it. Someone else cannot make this call for you. Just do what sounds the best for your car! You may find that one setting helps to prevent cancellation better than the other. Just make sure that your subs are wired in the same phase (Certain bandpass and isobaric enclosures actually use opposite polarities to cause the speakers to work together in phase as one big speaker, but I doubt you could fit one under your seat).
Hey ghostlyrich I've been breaking my head with mine I have a ddx371 and have bass, mid, treble and my problem is is that its not kicking out enough sound my older reciver made my speakers boom more and they were blown(previous owner) so I know it should kick out more because ive even got new Kenwood speakers now can you help me out idk what to do bro I drive 2001 Toyota Celica
I wuld buy either a alpine power pack or buy a 4 channel amp for your speakers. Amping them will get them nice and loud and clean after market speakers require more power than stock. Look up the model number of the kwnwoods you bought and find the rms :)
I have jl w1 with kicker zx750.1 they work great but I want to tune my pioneer eq and maybe amp to have cleaner bass cause if I put volume past 10 it's really loud and I want to hear more clear music
hey ghostlyrich, I have a kenwood ddx370 headunit with 2 4ohm 10 inch single kicker comps in a sealed underseat box facing up, a kicker kx600.1 amp, and 6 3/4 kicker speakers in all four doors in my 2009 chevy silverado 1500. I have been trying to play around with some of the settings on both my amp and my headunit but i cant quite get the double kick pedals out of alot of the heavy metal music i listen to (i.e. as blood runs black, through the eyes of the dead) really fast kick pedals . I am not real sure how to use the crossover setting in my HU and all that so do you think you could help me out? thanks!
hpf and lpf should be set at 80 can try 100 just see were you like the subs cutting in at. Are you blutoothing or usb/aux. Blutoothing can mess with bitrate of soungs making the cutting lower frequencys.
I am using cd's and usb/aux. I got my cd playing just how i want and it sounds amazing! but when i am playing spotify on aux or even my ipod songs on usb I have to change it majorly.. also thank for the quick reply
bro i need some help.. i have an issue with distortion.. do i use the eq on my radio when im using aftermarket amps? or just use the settings of the amp and leave my radio flat? please anything will help and thanks in advance.
Flat the setting in your radio put hbf on speaker amps at 80 and 80 on sub amps. what speakers are in the door ??? You might be getting distortion because your gains are to high and the speakers are clipping. Also make sure bass boost is off on the amps. In the deck settings make sure the setting "loudness is off"
hi, i have a problem when i turn off loudness i dont get enough bass in my sub. so i have to keep it to alteast low level to get bass from sub. Pioneer 1590 infinity 6500 cs in front components infinity 6 x 9 in the back Above powered by Blaupunkt 840 DSP amp JBL GT4 series 1000 watts sub powered by blaupunkt class D amp ( 300 watts Rms) Please suggest
hmm are you blu tooth streaming your music or using a usb disc or cd??? what bit rate are the songs?? what are your head unit settings and sub settings at
ghostlyrich i am using USB disc with songs from 128 bit to 256 bit rate. setting are 40 hz +4 db and 80 hz +2 db ..... rest all are set to zero. Sub level is 0 at 63 hz. gain level in amp is full and volume i usually listen is around 25. Bass from sub is very less
ghostlyrich Also in your video you have set your treble frequencies too high. Which speakers are you using which can absorb so much of highs????? Cause at those setting my system sounds abnormally harsh on ears.
gain level on amp should never be maxed it will damage your amplifier. how you set the highs will change every speaker. try your cross overs at 80 instead of 40. were is your sup located. sealed or ported ?? your amp sounds like its way under powering you sub
ghostlyrich its ported enclosure. Its in the trunk of a toyota Corolla. i ll set the gains low on amp. My current setup doesnt allow me increase the highs. i want to but i think i need to change the speakers first.
Hey can u plzz tell that how can i get surround setting in that same player tgat you are using in the video and how can i get the bass that can make the glasses of houses vibrate ?
Navjot Singh in car the audio is stereo not surround there are certain decks that do digital and aim certain ways a certain places for imaging but music it self is recorded in stereo. Rattling windows can get expensive depending on how far you wanna go. A couple 12's will make alllooot if of bass if you by the from the right company and power them right 15's and 18's will piss off the block lol
ghostlyrich hahaha yeah that what i really want to do lol to piss of my block but right now i m using pioneer 12" double coil and that really not enough for me coz its good for inside of the car but if i talk about outside its not enough but yeah when i connect that sterio with my samsun mobile than i use that concrete hall effect and its creates such an awesome sound man and soft bass just like an theater that wat i want from my system so according to you i need to replace my music system right ?
Navjot Singh bigger alternator, agm battery, big 3 ground, 5000watt amp and a ported 15"box haha you will be loud! Dc audio sells a 15" xl sub its amazing and loud
Hey, I noticed you have infected mushroom on the dash. I listen to a lot of electronic and mixed sound profiles and just got the new dnx5759 by kenwood and would love some help figuring out the tuning
Hi I am using pioneer AVH-X1590DVD with JBL Amp with Pioneer Champion series Speakers with TS-20, need best equalizer settings for pioneer AVH-X1590DVD. Help me...
There is no perfect settings my friend. You need to tune it by ear like i tell you to in the video. Set your amp gains at rms and hbf / lpf at 80. make sure you dont have loudness on.
The sub level basically pushs the amp to push the sub harder if you achieve the bass you like at 0 its best. +6 can sound muddy also known as clipping which you want to avoid
ghostlyrich so i set the decks sub level at +6 and lowered my gain level on the amp 1/4 and the result is much more solid, harder, cleaner bass. And its putting less stress and making my amp less hot. So i suggest maxing out the deck at +6 THEN adjusting your gains on your amp, doing it this way will make you push your amp less hard as there is more prevoltage going into it.
Not very good info.. You need to read up.Sub 20hz to 80hz.Phase is only if you invert your sub.Rta is the best way of tuning. And you want a small overlap in your crossover's as it will rolloff anyway but you want to control it. My system is turned and sounds great and will blow your ears off.Total rms of system is 7,000 running 16 speaker and 1 sub right now. Have 4 12's ready to go in.I do installed and tune systems. Also don't recommend 6x9 speakers for bass. And 6.5 are not for bass . I run 4 6.5's and 4 8" .The 8's are my midbass and the 6.5's are my mid range. 2 different ranges.Anyway I'm done. Well don't recommend kicker there junk.
+Carlos Portillo kicker is a fine brand just like focal, hertz all depend on the ear and the want to achieve the results you desire some people run there mouths and troll just let them flap there gums
ah ok i own a mrp m450 lol sweet amps for sure! so i would zero the deck settings and set lpf and hpf at 80 and if its still sounded distorted try 100 on hpf lpf. also the bass 1 maybe 2 out of 7 mid try 2-4 out of 7 4 on treble. that should help with deck clipping.
if yu bolt the sub woofer with the cobe facing into a box you might use it but you never really use it. on normal you sub will push in and then out like it shouled. on reverse it will push the sub ou and then in
When I installed my sub amp and speakers, the guy who installed them custom set my equalizer and it sounded great last week I accidentally reset them. I tried to remember here they were but the to no luck. The highest I had the stereo was at 28, now 28 is way too loud and the bass box in the trunk moves. I noticed the vocals are not as crisp. My bass and sub bass is +3 and +2. My treble settings are at +2 and +4. Any help I would appreciate. Thanks
Thank you for this video.... Off the topic of the video sort of... I have subs and I like them for the kick drum. I have five finger death punch but the kick just doesn't punch as good as if like. Anyone have any other bands like them?
JDog5555545 are you blu toothing ?? I listen to ffdp myself and i run a 10" orion hcca and when under and over it comes on or bullet proof 1500 watts rms pounds so hard i feel it in my soul
ghostlyrich Haha that what I want, I like when the kick makes you feel like your gona throw up xD.... But yes I'm going off blue tooth, maybe I should just go buy the cd
JDog5555545 try using a usb stick or plugging in through aux jack i just use a seprseperate usb stick blutooth is to compressed and bass doesnt hit nearly as good on Bluetooth
try dropping your hpf (high pass filter) lower. let the bass feed through a little more. if your speakers start bottoming out from the bass, take out some low end (frequency from 0hz to about 60hz) with the equalizer settings.this should all be done basically at the loudest volume level you have listened to on your head unit. hope this helps
"Good quick to the point"? I'm literally paused at 4:25 (halfway through) and I still have yet to hear about what the the video is titled.
Helpful tip, once you find that "perfect" eq setting, take a picture of it with your phone of trace the screen on a piece of paper for the future if your setting are lost. Lost my setting once when car was in shop for a recall and my settings were all lost and took a couple of weeks of listening to get it just right again.
woohunter1 that’s what i’m going through rn. ik i should have took a pic. my sound was perfect
woohunter1 i literally just did this before i even read ya comment thought i was the only one
Oh man, this made a world of a difference! Thank you. It no longer sounds all distorted like before.
awesome glad to hear
Thanks for the video. I have the same head unit and didn't notice the high pass filter setting. It's now set to 80hz as is subwoofer setting. Whole system sounds so much better..... Thanks.
Thanks dude. This helped me understand my JVC headunit and amp and how to set it up.
hpf is used so your mid driver does not play the notes the sub is meant to play. basically cuts the bass out of the main speakers to make the audio clearer and more balanced

Do you think this equalizer is better than the smiley and v sound one?
great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. also, is that an android phone you have connected? i cant get my gs5 to connect to my pioneer. did u use cd mu200 cable from pioneer? thanks again for the time homey
Have you used the auto eq?
Like the video and I know quite a bit of it but I'm stumped on an fh-x700bt by pioneer battery was disconnected and it went back in to demo mode and can't get my mids and highs back to the right settings the pre set eq is limited the amp powers it and no sub hooked up jus for clarity
What should it be for optimal bass
Hey i have a AVH x2800 bs and i have a sub with and amp in the back i was wonder what are the best audio setting to put for the best sounds. I find it does distort a lot and i listen to mostly edm house music, where bass and tone matter.

Sub =

Hey there. thanks for the share. very nice video up here :)
i just bought a pioneer head unit, the AVH X 7500 BT
i mostly listen to Trance & Progressive Music, and i'm trying to adjust the equaliser settings. can i use those settings (custom 2) of yours?
i don't have an amplifier nor a subwoofer at the moment. i do like a little bass from the speakers but not too much. which settings do you recommend me adjusting starting from your setting (custom 2).
thanks
regards
Ty for this video man helps a lot ! I was told to get rta and the umik!
If the head unit has time alignment that is the most important step to tuning if you want proper staging above the dash.
I have a axxess AX-DSP-X Metra 310C4171 and I was wondering if you knew the best way to tune it?
I know that I am wayyyyy late on watching this video but It reallt helped me....so thats bro....i appreciate it
glad it helped mate
I have a Sony 601bt. It has a separate output for subwoofers. What I want to know is if the EQ on the HU has any effect on the sub output? Or is it completely separate.
If I have troubles with tuning my new deck and amp can I talk through it with you?
I have Kenwood decks double din and single din and they all have 13 band eqs. I like to get the most bass while having very high quality sound. I have to hear the separation of all the instruments. I don't have any subs yet and I drive both a Chevy 4 Dr HD and cab and a half Chevy trucks.
What would be a good setting for my 13 eq bands? I listen to rap, hip hop, rock, country, country rap, dance, techno, etc.
Thanks for ur advice!
It varies by the speakers some hit notes a bit better than others
ghostlyrich I have kicker 6 3/4 in front doors and pioneer 4x6 and 5x7 speakers in back doors
Godamit stop saying sub wuuuuf her
😂🤣😂🤣😂. Why the hell does he say it SOOO awkwardly, and why do people frequently say a word that they CAN’T pronounce over and over again in their videos????????
Lmao
Sub wuffer ehh!
I’m guessing he’s Canadian.
its all preference. :D if i still had a manual eq i would use it instead of the deck but the deck does such a great job these days i just use it
Do i set all the deck sources flat if using a manual eq?? Thanks great video. .
Bro, awesome video now my speakers are smoooth
Which hz affects treble in the bass?
This video really help me a lot
hey dude thanks for this video it really does help out a lot! I am having a proble with my system it sounds like ass I was hoping you can help some please? its mainly in my bass with the sub.

Hello ghostlyrich, is there any way you can do a one on one session? Or is it strictly Q&A? Thanks.
i have been straped for time latly what do you need help with?
I have a pioneer avh-x490bs with kicker 6.5 doors and 6x9 rears
10" sub connected to KXA 800.5 kicker amp. I want more base
Thanks for the video can you explain the crossover more in detail I don’t quite get it
With a double din radio like that do i need to put an equalizer clairon or any brand too?
Thanks in advance
be hard to tune with some stuff running stock i would go by your ear sounds like your doing it right
I have the same head unit in my 2012 Tacoma quad cab. 10 inch kicker comp vr, kicker dx500.1. Behind the back seat. I'm having trouble with my clarity. What settings on my eq, and the settings for my amp? Door speakers are factory.
Jeremy Ridge door speakers will affect clariety 100% try putting your hpf at 100 and lpf at 100 on the deck
Ok thank you. Will try and let you know how it goes
Sounds like you have the gain set too high on your amp. If you have your loud or bass boost on turn them off and retune the amp.
Eugene Smith 8
I have a standard system I don't want to much of the extra gear I simply had no choice but to replace my stereo and I'm running into a clarity issue with the EQ I've tweaked it as much as I have patience for and now I'm stuck readjusting to every song I need help
Hi, what is the Loudness setting for, ? i'm getting lot of disturbing Bass, from your video i picked up that, it might be because of th High pass filter( it's at 60hz currently).
I would not put your hypass that low it willsound muddy. Always put loudness to off it trys to amplify were it should not making it sound muddy
I have one 12inch sub, speakers on the doors and equaliser controlled by 4chanel amp,and mono block for for 12inch
my friend has the same kind of stereo for his truck I push the button reset everything on the stereo how do I get it back to the way it was for a huge bass my friend has three l7 kickers 12 inch speakers and massive speakers total power output for the truck 10000 watt pioneer is very very sophisticated I love it if i push reset will that ruin the stereo I need to know the one person that did the adjustments told me I broke the stereo because the bass was off timing can this be fixed at all thank you so much in love watching your video I subscribe to you thank you my friend
What is your thoughts?
if i were you buy the pioneer and if you want more power with no amp install check out the alpine power pack
ghostlyrich hey wsup just got watching your videos on tuning I have the pioneer 80prs and u know it has a 16band eq I need help n tuning cause I don't know the vocals/instruments what bands r for what thank u so much in advance my email eazyrida78@yahoo.com cell number 803 983 4389 I stay in Sumter sc

Hello i have pioneer head unit(AVH-X1690DVD), JBL amplifier GT -x646 , Front speakers JBL cs6c, Rear speakers JBL 959 , JBL GT-X1150T ... Can u please suggest me what all should be the equaliser settings for this assembly.
like high pass filter, bass booster, source level, frequency , phase etc... i am music lover i need a good base in my car as i listen at higher sound.
thank u
hey what kind of head unit you have if dont mind my question
6x9s still being used in higher end audio anymore?
6.5 are the high end speaker sizes i adapted the 6/8 spot to a 6.5
I have a Pioneer FHX-520UI Double Din and notice it has a Sub phase (ReV and Nor) What setting do I need to be on? I have a 2008 F150 Supercrew. 2 subs facing the floor under the back seat.
Just leave it on normal. I have tryed to use reverse before and always sounds a bit off
This something that you will need to play with on your own to find out which setting is best for your vehicle and its particular acoustics.
Crazy how it’s basically a world where music is streamed now.
I have jl w1 with kicker zx750.1 they work great but I want to tune my pioneer eq and maybe amp to have cleaner bass cause if I put volume past 10 it's really loud and I want to hear more clear music
need new speakers and a 4 channel amp will make the mids and highs much clearer
hay guys & gals when youy have tuned you anp can you turn your headunit back on loud volume again
Volume is stuck on high....if by chance it allows you to adjust it climbs all the way up again
hey ghostlyrich,
I have a kenwood ddx370 headunit with 2 4ohm 10 inch single kicker comps in a sealed underseat box facing up, a kicker kx600.1 amp, and 6 3/4 kicker speakers in all four doors in my 2009 chevy silverado 1500.
I got my cd playing just how i want and it sounds amazing! but when i am playing spotify on aux or even my ipod songs on usb I have to change it majorly.. also thank for the quick reply
yea each input can very for sound. I have 2 custom eq's on my deck i tune one for cd's and one for usb different song bit rates and compression rates
Hello I have a pioneer double din 4500, wondering where my high pass filter should be at, running a sub with stock seperates in BMW. THKS
try 80 and 100 and go with which ever you like better
bro i need some help.. i have an issue with distortion.. do i use the eq on my radio when im using aftermarket amps? or just use the settings of the amp and leave my radio flat? please anything will help and thanks in advance.
Flat the setting in your radio put hbf on speaker amps at 80 and 80 on sub amps. what speakers are in the door ??? You might be getting distortion because your gains are to high and the speakers are clipping. Also make sure bass boost is off on the amps. In the deck settings make sure the setting "loudness is off"
you listen to infected mushroom too? thats awesome stuff
I got my hpf off, let me ask you this, this headunit only sounds good with bass boost on mines is set at plus 3 how about yours?
i use hbf at 80 and 0 bass boost i find bass boost makes it to muddy
hi, i have a problem when i turn off loudness i dont get enough bass in my sub. so i have to keep it to alteast low level to get bass from sub.
Pioneer 1590
infinity 6500 cs in front components
infinity 6 x 9 in the back
Above powered by Blaupunkt 840 DSP amp
JBL GT4 series 1000 watts sub powered by blaupunkt class D amp ( 300 watts Rms)
Please suggest
hmm are you blu tooth streaming your music or using a usb disc or cd??? what bit rate are the songs?? what are your head unit settings and sub settings at
ghostlyrich i am using USB disc with songs from 128 bit to 256 bit rate.
setting are 40 hz +4 db and 80 hz +2 db ..... rest all are set to zero.
My current setup doesnt allow me increase the highs. i want to but i think i need to change the speakers first.
put the amps gains at nominal usually half way. the max the cross over and leave bass boost at zero than tune.with the deck
i got planet audio one yesterday but mines doesnt have numbers at the bottom but i do know which ones are bass and left and right vocals but thats it
have you messed with akenwood kdc x-998?
Hey can u plzz tell that how can i get surround setting in that same player tgat you are using in the video and how can i get the bass that can make the glasses of houses vibrate ?
Navjot Singh in car the audio is stereo not surround there are certain decks that do digital and aim certain ways a certain places for imaging but music it self is recorded in stereo. Rattling windows can get expensive depending on how far you wanna go. A couple 12's will make alllooot if of bass if you by the from the right company and power them right 15's and 18's will piss off the block lol
ummm
ghostlyrich hahaha yeah that what i really want to do lol to piss of my block but right now i m using pioneer 12" double coil and that really not enough for me coz its good for inside of the car but if i talk about outside its not enough but yeah when i connect that sterio with my samsun mobile than i use that concrete hall effect and its creates such an awesome sound man and soft bass just like an theater that wat i want from my system so according to you i need to replace my music system right ?
Navjot Singh bigger alternator, agm battery, big 3 ground, 5000watt amp and a ported 15"box haha you will be loud! Dc audio sells a 15" xl sub its amazing and loud
I understand crossover points but can you tell me what the "phase" is? Thanks
+Tim datoolman dont know if anyone answered your question, but I believe its to play the subwoofers in reverse, or normal
Set your amp gains at rms and hbf / lpf at 80. make sure you dont have loudness on.
looking for a kick ass single din check out the 80prs from piooneer. double din im looking all pioneers just make sure it has 3 x 4v pre outs
Hello there! Good vid, I have my bass booster on around -11 haha still getting too much bass?!
Hey,..! I just bought a pioneer AVH-X5690BT and I need help with the eq settings...! Please help..! :):)
Have fun llaying with settings
I just got a subwoofer and a new head deck and I need some help equalising my custom eq pls🙏🙏
explain the SUB LEVEL in detail please.. i dont know whether to leave it at 0 or all the way to +6.. what does this level actually do?
The sub level basically pushs the amp to push the sub harder if you achieve the bass you like at 0 its best. +6 can sound muddy also known as clipping which you want to avoid
ghostlyrich
so i set the decks sub level at +6 and lowered my gain level on the amp 1/4 and the result is much more solid, harder, cleaner bass. And its putting less stress and making my amp less hot. So i suggest maxing out the deck at +6 THEN adjusting your gains on your amp, doing it this way will make you push your amp less hard as there is more prevoltage going into it.
akuma4u glad that way worked out for you
Not very good info..
Well don't recommend kicker there junk.
kicker is not junk I've heard some kicker sound systems that shatter windows ect like other crazy sound systems
+Carlos Portillo kicker is a fine brand just like focal, hertz all depend on the ear and the want to achieve the results you desire some people run there mouths and troll just let them flap there gums
+ghostlyrich true
big Scott is right on point with the tuning..
big scott i like cutting my subs off at 55 or 65 i think it pounds harder, what 8's are you using? and what amps like two 4 channels for the highs?
recent video and a great one too. was very useful, thanks!
How do you auto equalize this particular radio?
ah ok i own a mrp m450 lol sweet amps for sure! so i would zero the deck settings and set lpf and hpf at 80 and if its still sounded distorted try 100 on hpf lpf. also the bass 1 maybe 2 out of 7 mid try 2-4 out of 7 4 on treble. that should help with deck clipping.
What is a good setting for bass on my graphic eq. I listen to all rap and have 2 kicker comp vr 15 thank you
Bump everything under 80 hz up
So which way does your sub woofers have to face to set radio on "NORMAL" and not "REVERSE"?
Hi! I have the same type of stereo but i need setting for rap. Could u help me out please thank you. Patty 😁
if yu bolt the sub woofer with the cobe facing into a box you might use it but you never really use it. on normal you sub will push in and then out like it shouled. on reverse it will push the sub ou and then in
When I installed my sub amp and speakers, the guy who installed them custom set my equalizer and it sounded great last week I accidentally reset them. Thanks
I'm literally in the same boat as you smh....and this Corona ain't helping😂🙄
JDog5555545 try using a usb stick or plugging in through aux jack i just use a seprseperate usb stick blutooth is to compressed and bass doesnt hit nearly as good on Bluetooth
ghostlyrich that good to know thank you!
Would you ever use a spectrum analyzer and pink noise to set your eq levels?
You need to dip mid range so there aren’t any hard noises on your ears
Thanks for the info. Trying to tune my deck and having a hard time getting the right bass and clarity of sound.
you can use my settings but you will still want to tweak the eq a little for the speakers you have and your preferences
Man what do I do if my deck only has pre amp out puts ... I got 2 1500 watt audio pipes I wanna pump
I have a 8500 and it sounds like its missing mid bass? I need some help
try dropping your hpf (high pass filter) lower. let the bass feed through a little more. if your speakers start bottoming out from the bass, take out some low end (frequency from 0hz to about 60hz) with the equalizer settings.this should all be done basically at the loudest volume level you have listened to on your head unit. hope this helps
