I am new to HA. This video was so helpful to explain how I can get the Wyze cams I have to work on Home Assistant. I have 6 total, 3 outside and 3 inside. Thank you so much 😊
To bad WYZE is no longer supporting the RTSP firmware wonder if you can still access the rtsp link in there app now that they just updated it? I don't want to buy one of there cameras just to find out a new install doesn't have access.
@vaclav chalopuka - How many wyze cameras are you running at once? I keep seeing the live stream on lovelace drop out after 5-10 sec on each camera (I have 2) and then come back after another 10 sec. Driving me crazy. I'm using generic camera as well.
Question: I am new to this and ran across your video by accident...what device are you running home assistant on? When Wyze posts a new version of their firmware, you can't load it because it was overlay the RTSP or will the RTSP option still be available in new firmware? Thank you.
I have found that there is a significant lag when using the rtsp generic camera in home assistant. I ended up using motioneye in order to have the camera be real time. Did you run into the same issue?
@@bruxy70 This is interesting, but it seems the "RSTPtoWebRTC" integration requires a server? How did you go about that? Is there something that can run on a RPi4 alongside HA?
The download is no longer available from that page: "We have removed the firmware files for these versions for now and we’ll update the pages when plans are finalized. Please note that firmware files take a while to work on and test so you may not see an update in the near future". Do you know how to get it now?
That's a pity. First how they (not) handled the security issue. Now this decision. Well, fortunately we have the web archive, right? 😊 web.archive.org/web/20211111190414/support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026245231-Wyze-Cam-RTSP
@@bruxy70 I think wyze implemented a control at hardware level to prevent the device to load the firmware file from SD card. Pressing the "setup" button while plugging in the charging cable will no longer make the device loads the firmware file from SD card....
Sad how wyze has handled rtsp for v2 and v3. Both are truly amazing but are crippled by bad decisions from wyze. It is so amusing how they are sure to say "Please note that firmware files take a while to work on and test so you may not see an update in the near future". It would seem that they really want people to believe that is difficult to put together a firmware. It's not. Obviously they want people to pay for their service and this is the only reason they don't want people to have RTSP. When you don't understand why something is happening it is always about the money. Soon none of us will be wyze guys anymore.
@@bruxy70 Could I request some of your time to make a step by step video on how to do this? Are you using this setup with 3 cams and frigate on a rpi4 without performance issues? Thank you for your reply! :) Btw I have the Atom Cam v2 (only sold in JP for now but cheaper ~$25 and exactly the same hardware AND RTSP still supported in the latest firmware)
@@Airbag888 Check my videos, it is in there. I do not have an experience with RPi4. I have Intel NUC and the Coral engine. I suppose if you manage to get the Coral engine, it will work fine. But anyhow, I'd try and see.
I find most of your videos very inspiring and I don‘t feel bored about camera videos at all. I still hope somebody (higher qualified than me) will find time and energy to create a follow-along tutorial about go2rtc, webrtc, rtsptowebrtc and frigate, I simply don‘t get it

thankyou ive been looking for this exacg same setup
Love to see a video on your comap setup
Does this not work anymore?
thank you for this video

On the website that you said has the RTSP it states that web address to download is taking down. So it's no longer there..

No, I did not. But I use WebRTC Camera integration, which resolved this across all the cameras I use.
@@bruxy70 ah thank you! I'll give that a shot
I found the lag to be about 2 seconds when I first connect. Left connected over night the lag got worse over time. As bad as 8 seconds.

@@_A_T I just discovered that today. Dammitanyway!! Not sure what to do now.
Ah Ha! I had the bin file on a 64gb card. I switched to a 32gb card and the file uploaded. I have rtsp on the camera now. Hope this helps.
@@michaelhenderson5098 I found the solution. You have to format the memory card to FAT32 first, then it should be able to load the firmware

...well, that's simple. These people not only will not pay for the service, but they will not buy the cameras....
thanks wyze pulled their firmware not sure a wyze camera is even worth the free cost
I'd love to use it as a presence detection as long as its local to my house..
That's what I use. In combination with Frigate.
