The factory I worked at gave all of the new people, the “dough boy” helmet. First chance we got, we got the regular ones. One day while working with a Vietnam Vet, who was still wearing the dough boy hat, I asked him why. He said when it rains, the water doesn’t go down his back. I quickly located my old one and used it when it rained. Still have it. Keep an eye out for an original Boy or Girl Scout mess kit. They are the best. They have the insignia on the outside on the plate.
Those Coleman lanterns are amazing! ( : Great tool finds too and golf clubs as well! ( : Yesss! ( : Dad picked the coolest hat with an amazing flip price! Wow! ( : A metal box for only $1! Wow! ( : OMGGGG! The coal miner's metal lunch box was sooo cool! ( : Love that you are gathering for your missing sweet wife, Kayla, too! ( : You are a sweetheart, Julian! ( : Great Scentsy purchases too! ( : Great finds today! Wow! You are making this ladies day today by buying all her items! She is ecstatic! ( : You had a real banner day, that's for sure! ( : I love it! ( : I agree about gnome sweet gnome and Kayla keeping it! I would never let that one go! Soooo darn cute! I love him! ( :
It is always good to see you out with your Dad. That helmet was cool, I used to wear a hard hat and that's a good one. Congratulations on the great finds.
Your dad is a cool dude! Nice find on the hardhat! It would be fun to thrift with both of you next time I come down to PI. Following dad's store now....
I always enjoy your videos! I noticed that you had quite a pile of stuff in the backseat area of your truck. I often yard sale in my truck and I have found if I take cardboard boxes that can be closed or plastic tubs with lids and put them on the floor and fill them first, it makes it easier. I can sort things like put clothes in one box, dirty stuff in another, etc. It also makes it easier to stack more stuff on top (usually in Ikea bags or boxes from the yard sales). There's less risk of things getting damaged and it makes unloading so much easier.
Funny story, the first house I bought from an elderly couple who had lived there since 1942. The lady must have said she liked gnomes at point…..because by the time I took over, there were no less than 100 of the buggers all in the backyard. They were freaking me out, so we lined them up along the curb, and overnight, they all disappeared. 😂
The hard hat you guys bought is commonly referred to as a full brim Bridge hard hat. They are made of fiberglass, they are favored by Ironworker Rodman here on the west coast. I know I wore one for 30 years. That one is lightly used not out in the sun much. They turn almost black in color when out in the sun a lot. Good luck!
The big draw for that Coleman dual fuel lantern is that they run on Coleman fuel, as well as unleaded gasoline. To my knowledge they are the only one out in the market you can run on gas if you run out of coleman fuel. I have a single burner stove like that and it’s pretty awesome. Great find.
If it was me and I had the same deal with my dad, as a joke I’d rush through the yard sale like a mad kid slapping everything in sight saying ‘I touched that first,I touched that first’😂
MSA themselves say no longer than 5 years and I know here in canada a bunch of the oil sites i worked on it was manditory every 3 years you had to get a new hardhat.
Great finds - I would totally keep the gnome too! Question for you on OEM floor mats. I picked up a set. The part number doesn’t give me any accurate matches on google. They are Ford - even the parts website doesn’t have it. eBay pulls up multiple vehicles (some listed them as mustang, others as an expedition?!!). Any tips on figuring it out?
@@beardedthriftmachine not using the part number, no. It has me baffled. I wonder if I were to go to a ford dealership to the parts Dept if they could tell me anything? The date code box on them appears it’s for 2012-2013 vehicle, whatever kind. So not so old it wouldn’t be in a database somewhere.
Love watching you guys. We are in the northeast and planning to hold a yard sale. Have lots of dvd and vcr movies. What’s a fair price to ask for these used? incl lots of Disney
@@beardedthriftmachine Oh, I was just kidding with the hoarding comment. It just reminds me of that show “Hoarders” where a lot of those people said they were addicted to garage sales and could never pass one up. I think they intended to sell things too but never did because they had no system in place to store/organize their newly acquired items. Anyhoot, I hope you make profits! 😊👍🤭
BS on the golf clubs bro! I can buy used top notch clubs at my local course pro-shop for $2-3 a club. These videos are like the crap on “storage wars.” All Buloney!!!
Thanks so much for watching! I had to get Dad out there to some of these sales =)
Yayyyyyyy! Great way to foster family togetherness on memorial Day weekend! Yesss! Hi dad! ( :
The 400 mile yard sale out of Paducah KY runs June 1_3 this year was told over 1000 vendors this year it's going to be big k

lol =)
They walked away. Going to haunt someone else's yard.
Maybe it was all your neighbors taking back their long lost gnomes 😁

Thanks so much for watching!!!
Did you try the dishwasher for your hats?
How did they turn out?
Oh, does that mean you are a junior? No one should doubt that gnome was going to be a keeper lol
I'm a 4th 😀 the gnome is in the front yard 😀
Hard hats have expiration dates. Plastics can break
Yay! Dad! 💪
Always good to go dad out
How do you ship golf clubs? What type of box?
i use a 4x4x48 box and ship ups
The gnome is amazing, and the rest is not bad either!

The gnome with rainbow hat takes the cake....
If it was me and I had the same deal with my dad, as a joke I’d rush through the yard sale like a mad kid slapping everything in sight saying ‘I touched that first,I touched that first’😂
Lol and screaming mine mine mine 🤣 😂
Another good haul! What state you live in.? Better prices than here!
Be careful to check the hard hats for dates. A lot of job sites require that they be no older than 2 years.
I'll tell dad - I think it already sold for $80
MSA themselves say no longer than 5 years and I know here in canada a bunch of the oil sites i worked on it was manditory every 3 years you had to get a new hardhat.

Just stumbled on your channel…..your 9line shirt caught my eye….tacp?
no i was not in the military - i was police / k9 for 10 years - they are have really good shirts - we went to the headquarters in Savannah last year.
Great finds - I would totally keep the gnome too!

That is odd.. has any sold on ebay with that part number

@@KristiWilson I agree or even call them - I bet they could help
hey missed you in s.c
Love watching you guys. We are in the northeast and planning to hold a yard sale. Have lots of dvd and vcr movies. What’s a fair price to ask for these used? incl lots of Disney
If they are used usually $1 or less - look for the 2007 cars vhs tape worth big money
Thanks👍
Is founders club golf set a good brand to resell?
Thank u for answering…
Do you sell things for more if you remove the rust or leave it on?
I can just see you and your dad racing to items.
lol - he usually jumps out the car as im putting it into park LOL
I think that gnome is stalking you. 😉
These folks need to learn about eBay 😁
Ik this is an old video but u pick up waffle irons just as much as u do coolers 😂
How hoarding begins. Oh no!! 😮
Just sell it :) boom how making money 💰 begins 😀
