If we want to claim that the corner belongs to the driver who reaches the apex first, then that driver can’t go off the track.

Specifically with Max letting off the brakes to be “first at the apex” with no intention on making the corner. This of course forces the other driver to take avoiding action.
It used to only be Hamilton fans who pointed this out. Now that other drivers are being affected, their fans seem to all of the sudden dislike his defensive style 😂😂.

So in Max Lando current case , Max gets the apex so no need to give space so he can push the other guy out, in the process if off track then track limits. Now add Landos case, he is pushed off then he had to go behind Max and then complain then case considered for a 5 sec penalty, but gaining out side track limits is 10secs. So basically FIA messed up. Ignoring the obvious bias. Quite an interesting argument. Max is an asshole for “exploiting” the rules but then the best move for Norris is to overtake outside the track and then pull enough of a gap so the penalty doesn’t matter. If this where to happen then we would have to consider how harsh should the penalty be to account for someone having a faster car and passing someone else in a way that is considered to be against the rules but they don’t care since they call pull enough of a gap, so they do it every other race and makes it look silly.

The one thing I really do believe is McLaren should have taken the chance of giving the place back (sorry Shez & Cam). I do think Lando was starting to figure Max out. Stella needs to figure the FIA is not who you should put your money on…especially vs Max when he’s driving as well as he was. Max doesn’t make the same mistakes very often.

You can’t pass way off track and pass the driver in front of you. It’s that simple. Lando could have easily gotten a 10 second penalty with grid penalties. If and IF you make the argument that Max went off track he didn’t have as many track limits as Lando but then you enter the debate of 5 second penalty for Max and 10 second penalty for Lando.

If it was the other way around then Baxty would say it was bold and brave move and good that he was showing Max that he can’t do everything and say “Max had to give the place back, rules are the rules , so he deserves the penalty “
He also gives Brazil ‘21 as an example, but Abu dhabi ‘21 Lewis DID the same as Lando…and there Max was within the lines…I didn’t hear him complaining about Lewis not giving the position back. Also Brazil ‘22 when Lewis hits Max and didn’t leave him room…Max had damage and went back all the way to the end of the pack…they punished Max instead of Lewis…Max complained shortly on the radio but said immediately after : “ but never mind..” he knew he could do nothing against it.
So Yes, the stewards are inconsistent but they are inconsistent towards everyone and Max has been a victim of this too. Shame that the complaining only happens towards Max .
Cam, Shaz, I suggest one of you do a compilation of all the incidents/accidents of the last 3/4 years and the outcome of the stewards decisions…I bet that that you will see that:
    A. Max is not the only one who has aggressive actions. Only when Max does it, the British commentators are highlighting it and won’t let go …therefore they influence everyone , including the stewards(some of these stewards are biased too🥴)to have a bad image of Max. I think if he where British he had been called a legend who is bold and brave.
    B. Max is punished more for these incidents than the others and sometimes unfairly. Also the moving under breaking: everybody does it but the others often don’teven get noted.
    C. That the British commentators (especially Crofty and Palmer) are not consistent in their commentaries…more to their likings. They create this riot against Max.
Oh, and Baxty: Max DID get punished for outside the lines. He got track limits, but because he had only two track limits it didn’t lead to a penalty.
Ans about the first corner: the rules are that the stewards are not noting everything because it’s the first lap…just like in Spain when Lando pushed Max into the grass…🥴 please do see everything and compare everything and don’t just zoom in on Max. This guy deserves more respect for giving the people an exiting race…just wait and see what happens if he is sick of this all and leaves the sport early…I think a lot of people will turn of the tv.

They spent some time together as friends and Max simply keeps his notes. That is minus for Lando. Having your biggest opponent in friendly relationship doesn't help to bring him pressure with unexpected reactions. It seems Lando needs more from Oscar Mark Webber as a manager. Look how many friendships they make champions of the sport Schumacher at his times or how many drivers are close to Sir Lewis Hamilton. They know the game is cold and cold they are as well. Brittish roze colored glasses, but it's simple . defender ahead at apex, overtaker needs to give him space , even if that means breaking and or avoiding by going off track.
Max went into the corner to fast, but so did Lando, as otherwise Lando could have done the switchback. .
If the overtaker stays alongside on the outside ,than it's on him if he get's pushed of the track, but he can't overtake whilst off the track.
British fans always think their driver has the right of way , and bend or interper the rules to suit that narrative.
Max knows how to use the rules to his favour, and if you can't keep a faster car with DRS and on better tyres behind longer than ten laps and till the end of the race, you let him make a illegal overtake.
Max is smart in his racecraft , Lando not so much .
Lando and mclaren should have given the position back straight away , as Lando was almost certain to have a increasing advantage in speed and tyres in the laps after.
