Islam and Catholicism are both Heretical Pagan and Antichrist so, what else?? Romans, Jews, Islam, Catholicism, and other Pagans and Heretics all have persecuted Biblical Christianity!!
The movie of Islam is playing out right now... Muqtada is a direct descendent of Mohammad.... and he is launching attacks against the great Satan right now... The Amal Movement in Lebanon was created by a descendent of Mohammad... Those Houthi's are Zaydi Shias....
@@BenetTribble well when your religion mutilates the genitals of children and then a grown man puts his mouth on said genitals, you find comradery in a religion that hides abuse of children as well (the Catholic Church)
Cardinal Benitez was the Cardinal of Kabul not Bagdad. More importantly Benitez was intersex not a woman. The point is the Cardinal's gender was ambiguous and not discovered even by him until well into adulthood. It seems to me your interpretation is skewed for the desired purpose of invoking outrage. Others will see the dilemma posed in the revelation at the end of the movie and be moved to ponder the implications in a more thoughtful way than you did.
Right back at you, Roman-Labrador. Right back at you. Be careful that it's not YOU who goes to hell. I hope you go before th End of Times because otherwise the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet are going to have a field day with you.
Traditional or not the Catholic church is the church of Satan. They persecuted the original Christians. They adopted Christianity but mixed it with all the pagan traditions of false gods that God warned them about. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus. Salvation does not come by priests, Mary, saints, or the mother church or bowing to graven images. The priests don't teach the people sinless perfection - something Jesus taught. They keep people in constant confession and absolve sins through priests who take advantage of young boys behind closed doors. Only Jesus can forgive sins. Jesus said call no man on earth "Father" for you only have one father, and that's your father in heaven. But all the priests want to be referred to as "father."
The pope isn't a woman, he's intersex. He says he was going to get a hysterectomy not a vaginoplasty. If you watch the movie he says he wasn't different from the other boys growing up, which suggests he has male genitalia, but finds out after an appendectomy that he also has a uterus and ovaries. He then bears his heart to Cardinal Lawrence that he struggled with the validity of his position as a priest. I loved that this movie boldly dealt with the humanity of the Cardinals in many ways, not just this one. I would guess that many of the struggles portrayed are ones that real Cardinals have to face. Its not a reverent movie by any means, but it is a beautiful portrayal of the humanity of Cardinals.
Yes! I saw it last night and I think that Shapiro's review of it is dishonest (and likely for inflamatory purposes). The way you discribed it is more accurate to the feel of the narrative.
And i found it hypocritical in their part, calling this an attack to Catholic. Meanwhile their own pope has been hiding a lot of the sexual allegations of the priest from public. They even had a couple of popes that has been married. So why an intersex pope become a problem all of a sudden?
I haven't seen the film, but I have read the book. It seemed to me that Benítez's election was to suggest that the pope should care more about the third world and helping those who are less well off, and the whole intersex thing is just for dramatic effect.
I don't mean to be all "I am of this group and therefore have more authority" but as a Christian myself, this film resonated deeply with me. I thought it was incredibly respectful
If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hated. My reason for doing this would be, that if Christ is in any one of the churches of the world today, He must still be hated as He was when He was on earth in the flesh. If you would find Christ today, then find the Church that does not get along with the world. Look for the Church that is hated by the world as Christ was hated by the world. Look for the Church that is accused of being behind the times, as our Lord was accused of being ignorant and never having learned. Look for the Church which men sneer at as socially inferior, as they sneered at Our Lord because He came from Nazareth. Look for the Church which is accused of having a devil, as Our Lord was accused of being possessed by Beelzebub, the Prince of Devils. Look for the Church which, in seasons of bigotry, men say must be destroyed in the name of God as men crucified Christ and thought they had done a service to God. Look for the Church which the world rejects because it claims it is infallible, as Pilate rejected Christ because He called Himself the Truth. Look for the Church which is rejected by the world as Our Lord was rejected by men. Look for the Church which amid the confusions of conflicting opinions, its members love as they love Christ, and respect its Voice as the very voice of its Founder, and the suspicion will grow, that if the Church is unpopular with the spirit of the world, then it is unworldly, and if it is unworldly it is other worldly. since it is other-worldly, it is infinitely loved and infinitely hated as was Christ Himself. But only that which is Divine can be infinitely hated and infinitely loved. Therefore the Church is Divine." Taken from Radio Replies, Vol. 1, p IX, Rumble & Carty, Tan PublishingFulton Sheen
I’m so sick of it as well, and as European living in the US I have never experienced so much hate against Catholics as I do here … you’d think Christians would stick together … I mean we gave those 33000 congregations the Bible … it’s so much hate against us without any knowledge of the church it’s sickening
Devout Catholic. Totally disgusted by this movie. I’m not surprised though… the Catholic Church has been under attack since the very beginning. And yet! It still stands.
@@AntonioJulius-xy9czif you’re talking about history - that’s a reason we had the counter reformation. All organizations have a history of evils no matter who it is. The trick is to learn and improve as people
Incorrect. No where in the movie is the new Pope's DNA analysis revealed. In fact, the new Pope grew up as a man, and it was only after an appendectomy surgery revealed the presence of a uterus! Now, atypical genitalia is a rare condition wherein the sex organs on the outside of the body may not match the sex organs on the inside. In this situation in the movie apparently the outside sex organs were male, and it was why the individual was raised as a man. This happens in Persistent Müllerian Duct Syndrome (PMDS). So, this isn't about transsexuality. The individual wanted to continue his life as a man. What would disqualify him from being a Pope? The correct question is: would God?
He said his chromosomes were XY and that made him better. Besides that, the movie is full of left vs right values. The funny thing is that I'm atheist, so could not care less, but even I noticed that this movie is has a very clear agenda.
Can't wait for the reaction when we do get an African Pope and certain people get all in their feelings not realising a large proportion of the planet's Christiana are African and for them to even begin the whole gaslighting, perception engineering thing, they'd have to acknowledge co/onialism and imperia/ism.
If every movie about the Vatican or about catholicism clearly aims at dishonoring it, it is clearly because the makers of those movies are terrified of it.
I'm Catholic, just saw the movie yesterday, and it was quite good. The issues of gay marriage and abortion weren't really discussed. They were against the idea of jailing homosexuals, but not promoting gay marriage. Benitez being a genetic woman wasn't really so much a message that a woman should be Pope/ordained, it was more of a curveball to disrupt Lawrence's "happy ending." The planned surgery in Switzerland was also not to "affirm" his femaleness, but to make him more male. They were going to do a hysterectomy.
I have read the book maybe a year or two ago, I'm Filipino, and that was entertaining. I don't see it as an attack to the Catholic church at all, I only see it as something possible considering the state the Pope and Vatican is in right now. But the twist (in the book) is entertaining and I don't construe it as an attack. I don't know about the movie, but in my opinion is that, this is not the tone of the book with regards to how Catholicism should be now: e.g. that we should have a trans pope, or that we should reject the calls to go back to its latin roots, etc. I just see it as another insteresting drama, and a thrilling one. In the end, it depends on what philisophical "eyeglass" one has. Either you'd get offended, or you'd be called to caution. I'm the latter, and I'm not pissed at all. Go see the movie, or better yet, read the book and you'll see what i mean
I'm not sure on this one. I'm a very religious and traditional wife and mother as well as RN. This new pope was hermaphrodite. No visible female parts. Upon an appendectomy, a uterus is discovered. The movie doesn't say if he also has male internal organs. And it says that he's not sure what his chromosomes are. There are excellent examples of both humble and arrogant men as cardinals in this movie.
nope just watched the movie, it makes it pretty clear...... "Some would say my chromosomes define me as being a woman, and yet I'm also.......as you see me."
I don't know Catholic theology and its approach to that specific issue. But the movie from start to finish was very clear. Traditional Religion is evil and Progressive values are the only virtuous way.
I saw the previews for it and figured it would have some sort of negative messaging in it. They always do. The devil has his hand in these movies: they want to mock the church and pull people away from religion.
I’m not but in support! Hollyweird is DYING!!! Hopefully! We’ve had ENOUGH!!! There will ALWAYS be entertainment in some form or fashion, but THIS movie-it’s not IT! No money for YOU hollyweird-Byee!!!🙏🏻🤨🧐
I saw this movie last night and it was an amazing. It showed the humanity of the conclave members and my dad was Catholic and I didn't feel it did a disservice to the Catholic Church, certainly not more than the sex scandals that rocked the church, but we don't talk about that anymore. The movie does a great job in reminding us that God remains in control and the role of the Catholic church in helping all people. This review is based on one man's views and desire to add shock value. I believe that people should draw their own conclusions, which is precisely what our religious beliefs are about...the freedom to believe despite other people's opinions.

Hard pass on this movie from this Baptist Christian. How about a movie about the GOOD things with the Catholic Church? Disrespectful, and such a shame many good actors are in it.
It's a damn shame that there are protestants that still believe that catholisism is a Christian religion - it is not ! "Come out of her my ppl and be ye seperate" Catholisism is Antichrist and the murderers of protestant Christianity. Learn your history !
True these big name actors still want to make movies in Hollywood so even if it pisses on Catholicism especially Stanley tucci being Italian I presume born raised a Catholic
As a Protestant who dosint agree with the church itself I really find this a spit in the face of Catholics and Christ himself, another of many from Hollywood, sorry to my Catholics brothers and sisters
I just watched the moive last night. I implore people to not simply take Shapiro's word on the movie, but to watch it. It actaully is really frustrating to see Shapiro give a very poor representation of the moive. I think I learned most of what I needed to about his review when he told his audience (most of who won't see the movie), "you SHOULD BE pissed at this movie" and "SHOULD BE angry at the hijacking of one of the great institutions of human religion" -- the fact that he comes out telling his audience who haven't watched the movie yet what this SHOULD be feeling is irresponsible to honest discourse in favor of inflamatory feelings of rage. The movie presented the real struggle and situation of the intersex cardinal. He always assumed he was a chromosomal male (he had male genitals) until a surgery later in life (after his ordination) revealed he seems to have an unfunctioning uterus. He is intersex. He wrestled with this after he was already a priest, and sought to extract his uterus to no longer be intersex. He called it a "dark time" in his life. But the previous pope met him before his death and encouraged him not to do the surgery, but embrace himself as he was born and he could serve as a priest given his calling and vocation irrespective of the later in life discovery that chromosomally he is intersex. Ben Shapiro is making the move into something it isn't. I don't think it's against traditional religion. But it is critical of harmful ideas that do impact people and should have the space to be challenged by well-reasoned, honeset people. There is one cardinal who is inflamatory and calls for the church to wage a religious war against muslims in Europe ("those people") -- something to which I imagine even many traditional Catholics would be appauled at. Given the fact that intersex people often don't even know they are intersex without some form of scientific surgery (like the cardinal in this movie), I imagine it's likley that there have been numerous priests, cardinals and perhaps even a pope, in history who was intersex but no one knew, not even the person themselves. And intersex bishop has no doubt already officated mass to Catholics in history. This movie is simply presenting a reality that should be honestly wrestled with and engaged. Ben Shapiro doens't want that honest engagement though. He wants ANGER! "You SHOULD BE pissed" -- how about Shapiro stops telling everyone what they should feel. How about just give us the facts Ben. After all, facts don't care about your feelings, right?
Hollywood is demonic. It knows Catholicism is the fullness of truth anf that's why it focuses their attacks on her. They do it to a lesser extent to protestant denominations too. They don't dare do it to other religions.

Even before the twist, I thought Benitez winning felt forced. Clearly all the support up to that point had been for Lawrence, so he should have won. That little unity/peace/whatever speech by Benitez felt like a cheap excuse for him to win. I was disappointed that this random guy that came out of nowhere won and not the protagonist. And this was before I had any idea of the twist that's coming.
It is comforting to know that no matter what happens, in the end God has already won. Also nice profile pic, is the TBD one of your favorite aircrafts?

6:10 you're completely wrong and it's misleading. Which is ironic especialy due to the topic at hand. He is a hermaphrodite. He was born with male genetalia so it was raised a boy, then when it was doing a procedure to remove hia apendex, it found out he had a uterus and ovaries. It was conflicted and it was going to step down from it's role in the church. Then it was suggested to remove the uterus to not have any female innards so to be 100% male. It eventually decided with the guidance of the pope not to do so. Since god made it this way. It was not its choice, and didnt think it was its choice to change what god made. Which I'm against, if you're a man, your a man, if your a woman, then you're a woman. This rasises the question, what do you do if your born both? I consider myself a conservetive, but this kind of hard narrow view that really makes me feel off.
Honestly, thanks for the heads up. I knew there was another shoe to drop, as the trailer looked decent. As a practicing Catholic, I genuinely appreciate it.
As a Catholic who just saw the film, I can say it’s actually quite great! If you’re looking for an unchallenging story then it’s not for you, but I found its examination of faith in the midst of doubt really interesting.
Glad Ben could make up your mind for you. But he's lying. The book was out in 2016. This is about inside politics. That plot twist is not even central to the story. You are getting Ben's idea of what this is about. Ben has some racist ideas too.

Nonsense check out your past history of persecutions against the Jews. Even your late pope John Paul 2 admitted how unchristian it was against the Jews and others.
We just need for Catholics to wake up and realise that that verse does not refer to Satan attacking the Church, but rather to the Church attacking his dominion!
Hey, anyone who is interested in watching the film here’s a quote from it, “Certainty is the great enemy of unity. Certainty is the deadly enemy of tolerance. If there was only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery and therefore no need for faith.” I love this quote and it really made me ponder the claim of “certainty.” I was raised party Catholic and also partly evangelical Christian. I thought this film did a great job with being both entertaining and also showing an uncommon amount of humanity found in media today. What I saw wasn’t disrespectful or “Hollyweird propaganda.” Mr. Ben Shapiro is undoubtedly making claims in bad faith. I would recommend this movie 10/10
The perfect example of how Hollywood showed it's despicable show of force was when they blackballed Jim Caviezel, who is a staunch Roman Catholic and lives his faith.

Ben has a point. Hollywood has no problem making fun of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism or any other religion EXECPT Islam. No motion picture studio will EVER make a movie that mocks Islam, questions Islam or portrays Islam in ANY negative light.
That is the point. Although, I was raised Roman Catholic ,I just consider myself Christian because I no longer am apart of the church. I can see why people would be offended, Islam would never be mocked or exploited by Hollywood ,ever and the hypocrisy is outrageous. I dare any filmmaker to make a movie about Mohamed, and put any fictional parts in the story . They would have a fatwa on their heads!! For life! Look what happened to Theo Van Gogh or Salman Rushdie! Christianity is a low hanging fruit and an easy target. They are reaching at this point to make a decent story and don't have much creativity anymore in the industry. Its all the same garbage for the last 20years! Comic book character films. Violence porn/horror movies. Soft core. Sex/drug high school kid films. Or using religion to preach degradation of moral values . Of how bad religion can be,we already know anything power can be abused and used against us. Entertainment? For who? I already know about corrupt people in this world , I'm fifty five years old. I don't need to be preached to, lectured or told what to do with my life. Only I can choose what I want to watch. I don't need to be pandered to, or spoon fed. So, a Hollywood movie isn't going to faze me at this point. I DONT CARE.......
Sidenote I'm an artist myself. And I have seen this coming and happening for the past 24 years with Hollywood. Its disgusting, its not about talent anymore. Its about money, and its ALL corrupt to the core. I'm glad I never went to LA to be in that industry. I've heard stories for years. Of talented people not able to get a foot in the door but people with next to no talent being promoted and given jobs because of who they knew. our society needs to change!
Because all of the others have teachings of the "golden rule" and forgiveness. So there's an inherent lack of aggressive retaliation. However, medieval Catholics weren't exactly the most accepting of criticism.
I appreciate this information. I’m a proud Catholic, so I’m used to having our religion twisted and demonized. But, it always hurts my soul to see Judeo-Christian values and religions mocked and turned into filth and lies.
I am a devout Catholic raised in the church and educated by the Sisters of Mercy. This is not just a slap to my face and beliefs-it is a punch to my stomach. It grieves my soul for all of the nuns and priests who will somehow suffer because Hollywood hates the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Their disdain and hatred of the church should bring consequences-but they will pat themselves on the back. They will receive honors and acclaim for their mocking and blaspheming our faith instead.
Consequences of this material world are the pervue authority of the worldly leaders. The real rewards of eternity however will always be denied to them and that was always the point of Jesus's lessons on Heavenly and Earthly lives.

So ben here is only telling part of the storyline about father Benitez, yes the character is intersex, but here is his context. Benitez stated his whole life he identified as a man and never questioned his sex or gender. It wasn't until his 30s after having appendicitis it was discovered he had ovaries and a uterus. When he found out he immediately put his resignation in but the late pope refused. The late pope cared more about Benitez going to war zones to help those in need and even offered for the female sex organs to be removed. Benitez accepted the surgery but he prayed as well and came to the conclusion that he was born this way for a reason so he should remain the way he was born. Also both the traditionalist side and the liberal side were not shown as one is good and one was bad. One of the liberal cardinals stated he wanted women ordained and the other liberals didn't like that. There were traditionalist that didn't agree, the Italian traditionalist was just against gay marriage where the Nigerian cardinal wanted gay people in jail. So there was more of a political thriller then something "catholic should be passed about" Also the book has been out since 2016 and no one made a hissy fit until the movie was made and both the book and the movies are virtually the same
Oh I feel you are a tad narrowly read; there is a huge sub genre on the Catholic church... It was very popular in the Byzantine era. But Mel Brooks on Methodist is far funnier. It's a movie ... Do watch it. Problem solved
Many years ago when I was living in North Carolina and dealing with anti Catholic prejudice and medieval ideas about my religion. One day I turned to a coworker of mine and I just said I’ve got to move back home where I can deal with people with Judea-Christian beliefs. Basically I was complaining about the hypocrisy around me. Much to my surprise, she looked at me and nodded her head. I had known her for about three years. I had no idea what religion she was. I just knew that she would not work on Saturdays. Turns out she was an African-American Jew. And she told me that she totally agreed with me. I don’t have a problem with anybody religious beliefs I do have a problem when they propagate hatred towards mine
I read the book and saw the movie. I didn’t see any Catholic bashing. I think some people didn’t understand the ending. He was born a boy, grew up a boy, entered the priesthood as a man. Later in life he needed surgery, and during surgery, it was discovered that he had a uterus and ovaries. That is the way he was born. No wrongdoing there. These reactions are simply misunderstandings.

This Hollywood script is calling the entire structure a lie and mocking the faithful for being "duped" by all its leaders apparently, who are none worthy of reverence. (None should be worshipped, but reverence is not the same.) Even "DaVinci Code" did not go this far. 😮
Just saw the movie. From a raw and neutral filmmaking perspective it was very good in terms of acting, score, sound mixing, suspense, etc. However, the movie has a serious moral superiority complex problem. I'm not Catholic but the whole movie felt like a lecture insofar as what the Woke Establishment _wished Catholicism was or wants Catholicism to become._ For example, the more traditional bishops in the movie (the characters who want to honour the sanctity and traditions of the Catholic church and restore it to its roots) are painted as regressive, repugnant villains, whereas the liberal sect of the church (who openely declare themselves liberals in the movie) are presented as the good guys, fighting for a more progressive and 'morally superior' Catholic church, who need to stop the traditionalists at all costs because they are fighting for, as they see it, a just and progressive cause. The movie would have been great if it remained politcally neutral and left the good side/bad side as an open question to the audience.
Catholics don't match the Bible. The only exorcism in the Bible Acts 19:13 was a failure and did not cast out the demon. The Disciples of Jesus did not use the exorcism procedure. Jesus did not use the exorcism procedure. Jesus and the Disciples did not baptize babies or get baptized as babies.
As a counter maybe Angel Studios should make a movie about P Diddler and name all the names of the people on the video tapes that are currently doing what they can to get out of the country before their names show up in the press.
Did Ben even watch the movie? There's several inaccuracies brought up to villainize this film, like that Benitez was seeking a vaginoplasty. He was not. He was was getting a hysterectomy because it is mentioned that he was born intersex and later found out to have a uterus. Before getting the procedure, however, he refused because he thought it to be disloyal to God to change/alter the body he was born with. (Not a vaginoplasty nor gender-reassignment surgery). Secondly, Tedesco wasn't made to be a villain because he had "traditional Christian values". He quite literally wanted to jail homosexuals and start a religious war against Muslims. Hell, even Bellini wasn't that progressive, he just simply thought it was ungodly. This film does not demonize Catholics but rather shows how corruption and abuse of power have infiltrated modern Christianity, deviating from the principles of the Christian faith. In a way, Benitez represented the unconditional love and compassion that christianity/catholicism preach, which is why he, even as a newcomer to the catholic church, was elected pope. He was the only candidate that showed true godly love and faith. If anything this is a film that suggests we should stop demonizing people of other groups, committing dishonest acts, and that we should go back to the pure Christianity that was founded on salvation and compassion as as opposed to hate, greed, and prejudice.
I was making a Top 3 spoiler twist options before Ben revealed it, and my first was "an autopsy revealed the former Pope was biologically a woman." That was the most far off one I could imagine. That one beat "A Terminator replaced the Pope in order to replace the Vatican Law with Skynet AI."

Lovely video and thank you for the warning Ben. I'm a traditional Catholic and a professor of mine happened to read this book a few months ago and told me about it and I didn't read the book thankfully. This is scandalous.
First off, this is from a book. Two, this is a great movie. Yes, the catholic church has problems and yes, people will do anything to get to the highest position.
On sheer production values, acting, and screenplay, this is a great movie and worthy of watching for cinephiles and average movie goers alike. As far as the message goes, well your agreement will likely come down to your political ideology. The thesis, which is stated in a monologue near the end of the film is that "The church is not about tradition or the past, but what we do next." I agree with that so long as it does not distort the word of God which was there in the beginning and does not change.
Yup - the book is AWFUL

I haven't seen the film, but I have read the book. It seemed to me that Benítez's election was to suggest that the pope should care more about the third world and helping those who are less well off, and the whole intersex thing is just for dramatic effect.

Benitez being a genetic woman wasn't really so much a message that a woman should be Pope/ordained, it was more of a curveball to disrupt Lawrence's "happy ending." I just watched the moive last night.
Yes!!!

So there was more of a political thriller then something "catholic should be passed about"
Also the book has been out since 2016 and no one made a hissy fit until the movie was made and both the book and the movies are virtually the same
I agree. I believe Benitez is innocent (no pun intended).

Just saw the movie. From a raw and neutral filmmaking perspective it was very good in terms of acting, score, sound mixing, suspense, etc.
However, the movie has a serious moral superiority complex problem. I'm not Catholic but the whole movie felt like a lecture insofar as what the Woke Establishment _wished Catholicism was or wants Catholicism to become._
For example, the more traditional bishops in the movie (the characters who want to honour the sanctity and traditions of the Catholic church and restore it to its roots) are painted as regressive, repugnant villains, whereas the liberal sect of the church (who openely declare themselves liberals in the movie) are presented as the good guys, fighting for a more progressive and 'morally superior' Catholic church, who need to stop the traditionalists at all costs because they are fighting for, as they see it, a just and progressive cause.
The movie would have been great if it remained politcally neutral and left the good side/bad side as an open question to the audience.
Thank you Ben as a catholic I appreciate your comments and this video.
I am not surprised that Ben would condemn this move in support of Catholics. We have the same roots.
Or Mohamed

We are pissed Ben, we are...
I am pissed about it as a Catholic because it's based on a faulty novel, the propaganda is absurd and always has been. We have been hated since the beginning.
If the truth was in the movie you would be shunned at a higher level. This is no longer the true church of Christ
Jesus warned, if they hated Me, they will hate you too!
You were not hated in the beginning, don't lie to gain sympathy.
@@joannaennis7866 Jesus Christ himself hated evil by chasing money grabbers out of his fathers house..the Roman Catholic Church is a money grubbing mafia often taking advantage of the vulnerable like vultures. It’s hands are dripping with blood. Read your Bible not your man made manipulated Catholic catcechism
@@CC-uq4hu If the truth was in the movie it wouldn't be catholic.
If you walked out of this movie thinking it was nothing more than a "takedown of the Catholic church", I really need you to develop some media literacy
