Some says it's ugly but frankly I felt it's just look abit different than the rest. Personally I would say they did have a clever design with the cab interior and exterior, most importantly it has flat floor and I think the latter design even have a table and a passenger seat which can turn sideways. Overall it's a clever design.
So jealous you had a chance of driving a Magnum. Last year I archieved my license and since August this year I finally started my career in trucking, I'm now on a DAF XF106. Beautiful truck, absolutely love it but unfortunaley it means I will never have the chance anymore of driving the truck of my dreams, the Renault Magnum.
As a Canadian truck driver with over 5 years experience, and having driven the vast majority of most 2000 and later American-style trucks, I'm finding it fascinating watching your videos and seeing how different things are "across the pond". I've seen most of your videos on the newer trucks, but just watching the exterior walk-around on this one and it's striking how well-designed this truck is for driver accessibility to things like coolant, washer fluid and the dipstick, even some of the newest trucks in Europe, you still have to open panels on the "hood" to access these things, and if there's a bullbar, that needs to move too. This is really smart design, and I really appreciate the amount of detail you put into your videos. Please keep up the hard work.
When they first came onto uk roads my kids were young and we always played a spot the Magnum game and it was surprising how many there were . Still great to see them 🇬🇧👍
I love all of Stavros' videos - but if I had to choose one.... This is my favourite!! I'm amazed at how truckers can drive the width and length of these vehicles on smaller roads!! Keep on trucking Stavros and all truck drivers that keep all nations moving!! 👍
Always remember the first time I drove a magnum . I thought it was tipping over . The cab suspension was awful . Made you take corners a lot slower ... Cracking vid as always .
I have always liked the Renault Magnum, since the mid-1990s since seeing an owner-driver's one for Express Freight Services, in Essex, England. I loved the shape and look of it, especially the unique design of the steps and grab handles (I'm sure the transvestites in certain service stations around Europe have trouble climbing up in their high heels late at night after a few pints! 😂). The Magnum driver that I knew back then, Clive was his name, apparently used to sleep in his wellies in his cab. Rumour has it, that when he got back home on a Saturday afternoon after a week's tramping, his wife used to get him to undress in their front porch before letting him in the house because of the state he used to get into whilst on the road! 😂 I never knew that it was designed by the man who designed one of the cars that I love the most (apart from the Ferrari Testarossa), the Lamborghini Countach!
Used to drive one on European. If you angled the steering right you can jump up and rummage in a locker on the other side of the cab whilst on the cruise control. Nice touch. We used to swap drivers while going along when double manning...
American truck driver here, I really wish our trucks had those fancy blinds like this magnum has. None of the American truck brands do anything like that as far as I know. They just have curtains on rails.
After seeing you drive through that town, now I can see why Europe and the UK have size restrictions with their trucks..I could just imagine driving an American truck with a 53ft trailer would be hell driving through narrow road towns like that lol..
Love the videos, love the Irish truck styling you guys really put alot of effort into making the fleet look good and unique. Unlike most British transport firms who have a fleet of white trucks with black trim. Gotta love the accent too!
As always pleasure to watch your videos. I was never fan of Renault Trucks but still enjoyed your video a lot. Please make video about Magnum with V8 engine if you can find.
.....when you wanna see and hear a AE Magnum with the Mack V8 EE9....take a look at my site;) We got a 1992 AE 500 and a 1996 AE 560, also straight piped;)
Stavros, please do a review on a Volvo FH 12 from 2000. I love that truck from the gear shifter to the wheels and I love your videos... So you and a review on that Volvo would do my day.
Try one with MACK engine in ... There was no better truck than premium 385 and this MACK v8 in renault family ... Thank you for bring me some good memories ;)
Brilliant video mate, you are one of the best on RUclips just live your reviews. Please keep em coming they are much appreciated. Are there any 520 Eurostar’s in preservation in Ireland would love a review on one. I used to drive a 470 version so would be nice to see one again.
Glad to see you review the Renault Magnum - thank you! The Mack V8-powered Renault AE must have been quite a machine! Although I found the windscreen at 20:04 rather shocking...
first of all the magnum is nice dont say its uncomforteble and the AE magnum doesnt just had 374hp and 500hp there are way more engines for magnum trucks and you shuld drive the Magnum Integral with 560 HP open pipe 👍(sorry for my English i am from Germany)
Hey Stavros, nice video... Athough I always thought the Magnum's were one of the most confortable trucks ever made... Anyway's, personally, I love the design, they look so magnificent when you meet one of these in person.
Great video again mate 👍I f you like or hate the Magnum/AE fact is that it is something special with that high flat floor cab. Stravos it would be great tho see a Volvo F12/16 in your video. I cant wait too see one in your show. Greetings from a big fan from holland.👍
Wow. Good old memories. The firs one I ever drove was a 1994 with a square dash 420 HP. The flat floor was totally new thing back then. But I would take a IVECO Turbostar anytime over the Magnum. Great video ! Keep up the good work. Keep on trucking and be safe.
Your videos are perfect....when it comes to trucking, you are a guru, hands down! .....He even remembers the transmission numbers..ZF16S2520....Excellent, keep up!
Put the plates on the first sold in Ireland Ae 500 was great leap in trucks was hard to beat that Mack v8 lovely truck to drive flat floor great video kelcro 😎😎
Nice revieuw Stavros ,Butt the best option you forgoth to tell on the vieuwers ! open the sterringwheelcenter foldid in half , can ride your tacodisk on it. it a litle riddingtablet ! super option !!
Out of all the European semi trucks throughout the years, those Renault Magnums were my favorite looking trucks. Something about being able to see the cab n Chassis stacked on one another other being able to see that gap between them catches my eye lol the design as well looks badass as well don't get me wrong...But that Scania Longline with that American sized sleeper is a badass looking truck as well. There's not many of those LL's driving around Europe anymore are there?
Yes. Scania phased out T series bonet cab trucks from production. And there are very little of them now on the road. And Magnum was also replaced by T high series.
Honestly dont know how people hate this. This looks better than any Scania in my opinion. Sadly discontinued but at least they are still around since they have invincible Volvo engines in the ae magnum model and the first generation magnum with the mack v8
A real Marmite truck, I drove one for a couple of years, and it was a love hate relationship, living in the cab was OK, getting all your gear in at the start of a trip was hard work though. I always used the top bunk, as it was wider, and loved the blinds, great if driving nights, as they blocked all the light in the day time.
Be nice if you could do a review of the old Leyland marathon, 1979 was the last time I was in one of them, and I was 2yr old then and my father took me every where in it..
I love those truck, I wonder how Hight is the cab overall? as I got a telephone line on the entrance of my property? I'll only be using a unit and picking up other trailers etc not having a trailer on site.
Thank you for the testing and video sharing. is there any chance to test the Japanese trucks just like Hino 700, Fuso Super Great, Isuzu??? Looking forward to see more your great video!
Another great video sir . I don't really Renaults but still it was interesting to watch this video . Pls make a video of a scania next generation manual if can . I would really love to see a next gen manual Thanks
Nice truck. Lots of essential features, such as the egg holders.
for coins. but your comment was hillariuos.
Good old magnum, my dad had a 52 plate running to Gibraltar for years and never had a problem, he loved it!
Some says it's ugly but frankly I felt it's just look abit different than the rest. Lovely machine🤘 Had one for 5 years and absolutely loved the beast. Was so sad to lose her though😥
2:43 "3 steps to heaven" i have a bad feeling about this truck

There was a few special editions like the Magum willams and the last was the legend..They would be good reviews
Fun fact: this was the first European cabover truck that had a completely flat floor.
Or was it actros mp1 ? :D

Marvelous truck, one of my favorites! Too bad that here in Brazil we don't see it.
Always liked the look of this wagon. Never had the pleasure of driving one but wouldn’t mind.
Thank you so much for reviewing the Magnum. Keep it up. :D

Reanult was the inventor of Ad-blue, so it's normal to see a 2008 truck equipped with an Ad-blue system
Getting down the truck i would fall down expecting the step to be right there 😂😂😅

Memories. No one really liked it so I inherited the only magnum in the yard. Certainly different.
Really loved this video. I'd be very happy to see the Actros in another episode :)
Love a Magnum, so distinctive. Only 617k Km’s showing, do they only keep her local? The Volvo isn’t far behind but is 7yrs newer.
Cos it’s spent most of its life with the tacho fuse out....

Im sure the interior handle design is to make you open the door with your left hand. Which makes you check before opening
