I started watching then decided to check your other videos for updates but since there aren't any I'm not going to waste my time.

Sorry about that. I've had good intentions, but it just hasn't been a high enough priority. This will unfortunately won't be done for several more years, while I work toward retirement. I might be able to get it running before then, but the real work will come after I retire. Then I'll go from top to bottom of this car. It needs all new gaskets, seals, fluids, brakes, and anything made of rubber. Then all new interior. Then paint and tires. It's a massive project.
Thanks for checking out my channel though. I appreciate it. Have a fantastic day.

Do the 83s have Mass air flow sensors? My 86 with close to 200k miles never had an electrical problem beside relays and fuses. I guess the flooded ECU is the culprit and old gas in the tank and check the fuel pump connection.

Thanks. I agree with your suggestions about relays and fuel system. I completely cleaned and rebuilt fuel system from end to end, and did pleasure test at fuel rails 4yrs ago. But it appears I am going to have to go back and test again, starting with relays.
Thanks for your support and suggestions. Keep 'em coming. And thanks for watching.

Excited to see this project started! I didn't hear it on the video, but do you hear the fuel pump coming on? Also, possible the pickup is gummed up after sitting and not getting fuel up to the engine.

If it runs on ether, replace or jumper both fuel pump relay and fuel injector relay.

Thanks for the suggestions. As much as it pains me to let the 928 sit there, I just have too many other irons in the fire that are all focused on my retirement plan. The Porsche will be one off the first things I plan to get running and restores once I retire. Sadly, still a ways off though.
Thanks again for the troubleshooting tips/suggestions, and for watching my channel. Much appreciated.

I know you said you replaced the parts for the fuel pump at the rear, but you should hear the fuel pump prime? If not, it's probably the fuel pump relay. You bypass this with a jumper cable and see if that is the cause, or crack the fuel line at the rail and see if you're getting fuel.

Get wiring diagram. The injectors will have a common ground or power feed check that is good.

ECU.... supper easy to blow when jumping the car. Sooner or later you are going to need to have it rebuilt anyway.
They have to be programmed for your car. Based on what you describe in the video id say its 100% your problem.
Either the used one you got was no good to begin with. Its not programmed for your car or you blew it if you tried jumping it.
Always charge the battery not connected to the car. And dont jump it if you can avoid it.

Thanks so much for your insights. I agree with everything you said. I've never tried to jump-start it, and always disconnect the ground cable when recharging the battery. I've now tried 2 ECUs that both claimed to come from 1983 928S models, exact same as mine.
Though I love this car, it has been super un-rewarding to work on, since I've put so many hrs into it and still don't have it running. I'll try a little more and then get an old pro look at it. I can't be that far off.
Thanks again for your comments and for watching.

Do check that your fuel pump output is correctly pressurised

Yes. Thanks. I think I need to go back over everything I already did at this point. It's been so long since I updated the fuel system and tested fuel pressure at the rails. Relay checks, etc.
Thanks for your suggestion and for watching. Much appreciated.
