this feels like a doctor who episode in the best way possible. the vibes of the doctor just yapping while doing something and especially the chaotic nature of the desert outfit it perfectly captures how i think it would be to be the doctor's companion
I have put so many hours into this mod. The way that regeneration shuffles your SPECIAL Stats really makes each incarnation of your character feel unique.
I can’t believe this level of production quality has gone so unnoticed on this platform, started with the mouthwashing video, WILL be binging the rest. Great work!!
The best Doctor Who game I've ever played is Time War from 1984. Made by the guy who would go on to be the main designer of the original XCOM games as a teenager it's a non-linear strategy game where you fight a war across multiple points in time. With past events effecting the future and the ability to destroy the universe with various paradoxes. It's like a very primitive version of 5D Chess with Multiversal Time Travel.
Took a bit to find it, I think it's called Time Lords right? For some reason it's not listed on the doctor who games wiki. Seems like a really cool idea!
Imagine the game starts with the Doctor dying, and you regenerate which allows you to customize your character. I would prefer an open world game tbh, imagine No Mans Sky with time travel!
I welcome all Doctor Who fans to Fallout New Vegas. Enjoy the wackiness of Wild Wasteland, Fight aliens with golden boxing gloves, wipe out a nest of the wasteland's greatest apex predator with tactical nuclear weapons. Go to Zion take some dicy tribal medicine and fight a spirit of ghost bears or smth. Survive the lonesome road and walk all the way to the end just to tell Ulysses to shut up for once with a mod. Just don't noclip out of the map. Things get scary when you do that. Take a lesson from Drb0sch.
Hands down THE best Doctor Who experience you'll get to play in a video game setting ever -Extremely in depth TARDIS simulator -Lovingly complex TARDIS halls and rooms -Regeneration -Show items that translate well into gameplay -Enemies that also translate well into gameplay -Ability to complete the FNV Main Quest without too much lore breaking (kinda) -Recruit-able companions -Visitable Doctor Who locations from the show The only thing missing is the ability to physically fly the TARDIS like a vehicle. That honor belongs to the Doctor Who mod for GTA San Andreas (which you need to check out too!) EDIT: The only thing that I think could come close to this was the TARDIS mod for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Its features are not even the fraction of what this mod has to offer, but it was still great and had a pilotable TARDIS that let you fast travel throughout Cyrodill and acted as a great player home.
This mod looks amazing, however that's not why I'm commenting! Your performance as the Doctor was pretty awesome and I would actually love to see you as like the 16th or so Doctor! Well done sir, well done!
This is so underrated I dont watch dr who or play fallout but I was engaged the entire time. Ofcourse the props and editing was phenomenal peak all around
God i hope this mod gets a new lifespan, its so close to being perfect. It needs some bug fixing, and some adjustments to its mechanics. But it currently is a very in depth TARDIS piloting simulator, with a variety of ways to maximize its efficiency. Being able to choose to not run some safety systems, trading less power consumption in exchange for more manual mantainance tasks, and a whole host of specific scenarios which can arise depending on decisions you make.
@VorksBox same, I just did my first ship combat sequence, and am progressing thru one of the endgame quests, and I'm having a great time! But I keep stressing about how I wish there was just a little bit more. It's such a good framework for a perfect experience if it just had a bit more to make use of the mechanics it has. More reasons to use drift/space flight mode, more non-combat missions to let you use all your tools, more rewards for leveling your timelord skills than just access to basic features, and a handful more planets or timezones that aren't attached to any missions would be great additions. I've begun considering learning the GECK to try and work on a new expansion. Not sure how ambitious to be about it, but I can definitely see some seemingly obvious fixes that would make the experience just a bit better.
I have a pretty bad lisp, so hearing my own voice, or other people's voices that have one tends to put me off, just as a personal thing- but dude, the editing, the way you've acted it all out, the raw skill and charm the whole thing has is fantastic, you've done amazing work on this, and I'm having a blast watching it for the passion alone. Hell yeah! Edit: The whole render for the interior is awesome, and I died at you re-appearing, dressed like you're ready to get shot in the head before the cut to F:NV. Hell yeah. The only thing I can say is slow down your talking a LITTLE for the voice-overs. It'll help your words from blending into the ssths sounds, keep you clear.
The storytelling of this video is so endearing, so inspiring, so creative and playful! I LOVE it, really reminds me of some of Jake's ambitious stuff from V-Sauce 3, particularly the collab programs he did with RUclips
reminds me a lot of captain disillusion, incredible editing overall, very surprised this is a 1k sub channel. I'm sure you'll get a million views on every video soon if you keep making stuff.
That's actually the only way I've played Fallout 4, it was basically a coin flip for which game to pick. An early version of the script actually mentioned that pretty much any 3d fallout game works.
your rendering and composition work is immaculate. i thought that desert was real until i noticed the trees barely flickering in the bg... and then noticed a complete lack of wind... But man, it looks GREAT.
That's really funny, because the desert is actually the only real background 😂 The flickering is a color correction attempt to make the very green vegetation look more dead, but thank you so much!
I honestly just play Fallout 4 with the Fallout Who Regenerated mod for my DW game fix Though I can't stand the Weeping Angel mission The New Vegas DW Mod imo is a lot better content wise Really liked the video
Fallout Who Vegas is one of my go to mods, love how it feels like I can actually be a time lord while still playing NV and how it really makes me feel special and kinda explains why the courier is such an influential figure
You've got to check out the Dalek mod for Minecraft, it's like this but you have complete control over the Tardis. Really an excellent experience, you can even go back to older versions of the game! Of course you don't have the stories of New Vegas, but I feel it's still worth checking out.
The editing and acting for this video essay is absolutely stunning! If you ever felt a desire to belt out a Doctor Who FanFilm series, I'd absolutely watch that, well done!
i think a massive part in doctor who games sucking is they all try to not shake the boat of the universe, meaning there aren't stakes for anything, or reasons to care, you add a new companion to any doctor you know they aren't gonna stay, you use a preexsitig companion you know they are gonna live, the doctor isn't gonna die, if someone was to make a doctor who game it would have to be in its own universe
There is also the Tardis Mod for Skyrim, so you could maybe in theory use the two games as kind of like going back to the past or vice versa, and if you're more of a nerd, you could keep track of your current stats in one of the games and then carry on those same stats to the other one. Also, if you pair Doctor Who New Vegas with Tale of Two Wastelands, you can even help the people from Capital Wasteland get clean water. Sure, that quest kind of sounds boring for a RPG/shooter, but I can actually see the Doctor on a story trying to get clean water for everyone during a war between the enclave and the brotherhood of steel, and during these quests you can always get a different companion on your travels.
@@VorksBox Yeah, we have the technology for it, like we have procedural content. I wouldn't mind if someone made a game that uses AI to learn from history books, even fantasy ones, and then the AI creates a whole area with NPCS and quests based on the story, while also giving you the freedom of changing what happens, like if someone died during that time, what if you actually saved them? And then the AI creates a whole new future based on that change you made in the past. I know I sound a bit stupid, but please just think about it for a bit. Imagine if we could save some important person in the past, and because of that, the whole future changes. I believe the AI could actually do that right now, which might not end up looking beautiful, and all but maybe it might be just good enough for us to have some fun untold stories.
theres a mod like this for fallout 4 that has a whole questline with the fob watch, finding the tardis, and etc! i dont think its in depth as this but you might like that too
Only semi-related, but I remember my brother telling me about how he had spent hours in his heavily-modded copy of Skyrim before realizing that he had barely played the actual game, and had instead spent most of those hours travelling around in the TARDIS with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I think a full on rpg with character customization would be so unique. The doctor can be anyone after all so you get to design it! And give a male or female lead voice
From what I've heard it's a pretty decent doctor who game. But I think it's more story based? Where Fallout Who Vegas is one of the only instances where I feel like I'm my own doctor.

Thank you so much! Also a vocal coach has been something that I've been honestly considering, I stream sometimes and when I go back to watch I will struggle to understand what I'm saying.
Imagine it hade its own doctor sonic tardis interior it starts with this new doctor in the tardis and you get to pick where to go current day earth past earth or future earth mabey a different planet and each time period has a different story and a different companion so if you picked current day earth you'd get a different one then past earth and every episode is like that so it's actually like doctor who
I FEEL SO SEEN, ALL OF THE DOCTOR WHO GAMES ARE TERRIBLE (incredible video by the way, downloading as we speak)
Thank you so much!
Well... The Lego dimensions level was pretty ok.
But it's just an advertisment to sell more Legos.
some british sounding guy stole my revolver and left a weird looking screwdriver can't have shit in freeside
"The doctor does not use weapons!"
-Red Dalek
"Doesn't he?"
-The Doctor holding a fatman
“THE DOKTOR DON’T USE WEAPONS”
- red Dalek
“Doctor? Who is the doctor?”
- courier 6 while holding an M16
this feels like a doctor who episode in the best way possible. the vibes of the doctor just yapping while doing something and especially the chaotic nature of the desert outfit it perfectly captures how i think it would be to be the doctor's companion
