I've broken Epidemic's stems down into loops to rearrange tracks to better fit the video and even replaced the drum stem with drums from an entirely different track. The catalogue lists the song BPM, but all good software can fix a mismatch.
I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the TOS, but someone with some sampling skills could really go to town with the catalogue for their projects.

Stems is a great way to 'compose' your own music for a video! You can isolate instruments (usually just to a degree) and run them over and over during an intro voiceover, then add more or all of the song, then use pieces during critical moments... the possibilities are endless. I use them all the time.

Hey, If I have a downloaded "song" is it a software or way to decompose it to create stems out of it?

    • @sun-eye
      @sun-eye Год назад

@@marcosferrer3743 That is VERY difficult to do properly. There are software that tries to separate each level of the music (like vocals from instruments), but eventually, they will overlap and sound awful. I used to try to do that as a DJ using software, but it was impossible to separate each part. This is why stems are so important for sound design.

I’ve been learning to DJ, lol just a casual learning to DJ no yea it’s pretty difficult. But interestingly I’m finding teaching myself to edit/edit on davinci resolve is helping me learn to DJ. Because I can transfer the knowledge I’ve learned in when and where to cut, different transition and when to use them etc. which can all be used in DJing learning where in the song to mix in and out by matching the songs key and phrasing, kind of like a dissolve but in audio form making transition from one song to another almost invisible/inaudible.
So why am I banging on about DJing on a video editing stems video. As well because at the end of last year serato DJ introduced stems which is the current next big thing in DJing, you going to see a whole host of dj controllers from the likes of pioneer dj with stems support built into the controllers. It’s game changing because as Josh says you can take the lyrics from one legendary classic song and put them over another…or take an old song, take the drum best from a new song and make a unique uptempo on the fly remixed version of that old song. So yea Stems is absolutely huge and game changing it’s impossible to stress how massive stems will become!.

My fastest way (as I learned from Philip White), cut my footages on the timeline how I want, drop the music and 90% of the time, just works...might have to tweak some footages sometimes to give it the polish.

Yeah this is the opposite. Fast isn't always good.....But for RUclips videos it seems to be faster output the better....films, not so much.

I've never been able to get to grips with Epidemic Sounds' pricing structure. They make you take out a membership for a month or more rather than per song. Unless you're regularly putting out videos every month, it's too expensive for the casual YT user.

$108 a year, is not a bad price at all for UNLIMITED SONGS. Not too long ago I was paying $50-$75 per song, and that was for typical for terrible royalty free music. We have it so good right now, it's baffling how they are able to compensate the artists appropriately with that kind of deal.

this is great, epidemic sound seems great. however, i wish youtuber spent more time upload their client work, spec work rather than making longform commercials or softpaddling reviewers (for fear of not getting unreleased gear from manufacturers).

Every song with vocals I've come across on epidemic will have an instrumental version, no need to download stems

normally yes, but not this one in the example though. vocals were on instrument track because they are autotuned i guess...

I looked at the Epidemic Sound website a few months ago (due to an ad while watching someone’s RUclips channel). One thing I was unsure about, and it would put me off using, is that their website says if you upload content to your channel and you do not have an active Epidemic subscription, that they will make a claim against you. What I’m not clear about is if I have an active subscription, use their music in a RUclips video, then some time later I stop subscribing to Epidemic Sounds, will they then make a claim against all the videos you have uploaded (while you had a subscription) and no longer do. This could lock you in to subscribing forever, or having to take down prior videos. I don’t think their website makes this at all clear.

Totally in the clear. As long as the date you upload you have the membership you're whitelisted. If you cancel, then use a song and upload then you could get flagged.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the video with the duct tape and its multipurpose. :D Hack it with putty. :D
For the stems - yeah if you don't have sound designer and want more "sprinkle" on the video thats the way.

F0.95 lenses, 👀 sorry what was this video about again, I'm having a bit of an ADD moment totally distracted by that insanely fast glass. I hate your videos, I get totally de-railed and can't focus on anything I was actually thinking about or working on because I just start day dreaming about shooting around the city. This was fantastic. Sooo much better working with these tracks like that.
