Okay, but let me know who your favourite vloggers are? I wanna know your inspo! (Some of my mine are Elena Taber, Kinging It, and Eamon and Bec) I wanna know yours 🫶
Kinging it and Eamon and Bec and Kara and Nate are the bomb! I’ve recently become addicted to “chapter by chapter” with Philly and Keely… they are just a young feel good couple who make me laugh.
I guess I'm doing the same thing, except I am almost 79 years young and still learning RUclips has like been a new ball game for me, trying to learn everything. Good luck to you, I know you'll do great.
Yes to Davinci! A lot of the tutorials out there are more cinematic/filmic in emphasis, which sometimes doesn't feel relatable when you just want to learn quickly.
Girl I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your vids, how authentic you are, & how much passion you have in sharing your behind the scenes work. You're amazing! Thank you
This is brilliant. Thank you so much! I'm venturing naively into the world of video editing, and I was thinking to myself recently 'where the heck do I start, I want to avoid making this look ridiculous'. It's quite overwhelming with so much to learn - this video could not have come at a better time. So yes please, I vote for some more editing tutorials. Thank you once again for sharing. Your content is top teir, and I'm learning so much!
Really loving how you are combining your 2 interests (travel vlogging and giving content creation advice) You are one of my fav RUclipsrs FOR THAT EXACT REASON. Seeing you teach us in your van, out in the desert, or swinging on your hammock.... keep my attention because it's so different! Plus, I'm not only interested in improving my content creation, but also interested in travel and seeing others adventure!!
Quick Pro Tips: don't waste your time renaming clip! In to your video editor app just sort them by date or hour, camera or whatewer you like :) Then before drag them in the timeline select all the clips for each camera you have, and give them a colour so you can quickly identify them in your timeline. Peace❤💫✌
Yes, I would like for you to help us more in the area of editing. I am trying to learn it and having such a hard time. It's like trying to understand a foreign language to me. Thank you so much for all of your help.
Katie!! I recently discovered you and have been binge watching your videos! You are joy to watch, so very likeable and relatable and I really appreciate your candor. Thanks for all the valuable information!!
Katie this was pure gold! I can’t wait to start editing some videos that have been on the back burner. I love the Mac tip. I’m new to using a Mac so any shortcuts is amazing!
Great tips Katie! Travel VLOGs are my favourite type of content to make and while they don’t perform as well on my channel, they bring my so much joy when I watch them back myself ✨😊 for sorting out my footage across cameras I like to create sub folders for each day as a work around for renaming files but definitely want to try your tip! 🎞️
Would love to see editing videos!!! Thanks for all this amazing education you offer. This 50-something is thinking about starting a RUclips channel, and you have provided so much inspiration, motivation and education.
These are the types of tips and tricks I appreciate. I needed the tip on the renaming footage to make it in chronological order, this is such a time saver! I have begun on devinci resolve for the free factor and so far it's great but still learning. Now I need to see if it has a labeling option. I suffer from edit fatigue, especially when Im looking at myself constantly and I'm losing what it is I am trying to say! I have to get my partner in to look at it with fresh eyes. Mind you I have edited more than I have posted lol. Only uploads are from 5 years ago on an old channel. Ive been editing old footage for a new channel as well as new footage. I'm so lost with where to start! I am trying to bridge the gap somehow by telling a story.
ahhh no!! a glitch in exporting unfortunately 💀 (gotta love Premiere Pro! lol) you'll have to watch the full vlog over on www.youtube.com/@katieanddan to see the full example I guess. Sorry about that!
Your videos are so easy to watch and follow. I stumbled across you on accident looking up other stuff for IG. I’m. So.glad.I.found.you!!!! Thank you so much for making these videos!!!! Truly one of the best!
You are always giving such good advice recently, I haven’t started yet - I’m stuck in a research loop but I’m always getting new info from you! So grateful, thanks :)
Thanks so much, Katie, for every video you made. I genuinely appreciate your advice. They're also realistic and comprehensive, which helps me so much, and I find myself learning more each time I watch your videos. I feel like I've listened to your advice so much but couldn't manage to nail/implement them fully but I'm trying and learning! I'm glad I found your channel, always!!
That’s such a great tip for organizing files … bc i was getting frustrated when it would change the date after I uploaded and then I would have to click the “i” button to rediscover info
Thanks to your videos 😊 I feel more confident now in creating videos. The adjustment layer labeling was a nice kick I haven’t noticed before. Overall thank you for everything!
Oh my gosh THANK YOU!! This video was so insanely helpful! 😊 I'm just getting my channel started and feeling overwhelmed with how to organize and set things up and stay on top of everything. Following your advice and even got that awesome file name automator set up to keep things organized! Love your videos and how relatable and authentic you are! Thanks for the amazing content! 💖
I just got home from a trip and not crazy about my footage but going to try to salvage some stuff using your tips and the plan better for next time! :)
So helpful, thank you! I’m learning Davinci Resolve right now. My brother taught me the basics but once I get use to this I want to learn more. So far I do like it.
Yes please to a DaVinci tutorial! I can't find any good tutorials that are easy to follow. Thank you for all your wonderful videos and guidance. I've learned so much from you!
Awesome tips! I’ll be rewatching this again. I liked the L cut tip and then the cutting the music to end when the clip ends. So far I just fade out the music wherever it is but I’m gonna try this tip. ❤ thank you!
I’m just learning and I found this so helpful - even the nuggets of moving your clips to your external drive and working from there. So so helpful for a 60+ total newbie (do they still say newbie?😂). Anyhoo, thank you!
Thank you soooo much for this! It's exactly what I was needing rn:) Would loooove for you to expand more on your PP editing process..a more in depth deep dive would be awesome!!
Your videos have been hitting 100/10 recently!!!!! I would LOVE to know how you figured out to change your target audience recently & how you are figuring out what we want to see. And just how you come up with these amazing ideas for videos.
Quick Pro Tips: don't waste your time renaming clip! In to your video editor app just sort them by date or hour, camera or whatever you like :) Then before drag them in to the timeline select all the clips for each camera you have, and give them a colour so you can quickly identify them in your timeline. Peace❤💫✌
Katie, this video was exactly what I needed to get my motivation to start editing this weeks video for our channel! Thank you, I've learned so much from you already! ps, we are pretty new at vlogging and editing but we use Davinci Resolve and love it!
Another awesome vlog Katie. I always watch your video's/vlogs to the end. Yes getting viewers of your video's/vlogs to watch until the end is a challenge Katie and thanks for this vlog and all your content. Love 🥰 this vlog and love 💕 Katie.
So helpful! I was at the part about music and making sure you have highs and lows, and was literally thinking about drag race and how Michelle always says the queens fail when they’re all one note.. and then you literally referenced it 😅
I enjoy your videos and look forward to more tips. I'm getting more into editing, but sometimes I avoid it. I'm not scared of it, but it's a lot when you're learning the ropes. 😊
I totally get what you mean about switching up the music.. in graphic design it's referred to as pacing.. I was curious about your take on tutorials more specifically art tutorials.. how would you approach the music?
Ooo I need to set up that automator function that can be really helpful. But I usually save all my footage in different folders according to the camera. So I have GoPro, iPhone, Sony folders and then I just drop everything into my timeline. And start editing it’s not always in chronological order 😅
I personally find it helpful to be able to see everything in chronological order to make sure I didn't miss anything, etc - so the rename function is super helpful for that 🙌🏻
So helpful Katie, thank you! Your tips helped answer questions I didn't know I had. What type of external hard drive do you use or recommend? I never thought about that, so good to know you use one, thank you!
Okay, but let me know who your favourite vloggers are? I wanna know your inspo! (Some of my mine are Elena Taber, Kinging It, and Eamon and Bec) I wanna know yours 🫶
Katie there is a problem with the video because it stops playing at around 11.55 until 12.16.
Kinging it and Eamon and Bec and Kara and Nate are the bomb! I’ve recently become addicted to “chapter by chapter” with Philly and Keely… they are just a young feel good couple who make me laugh.
I love Cathryn Manning
benjiplant and Jenna Hong are the ones that come to mind right now!
yes I recently found Philly and Keely too! they're awesome!
So so sooooo helpful to a newbie like me! THANK YOU so very much! I'm 56 and want to prove that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks 😊
Ah! Thank you for this!!! Editing a Vlog is so different from a fully scripted video. It can be so chaotic!
the adjustment layer label is such a good idea 😍 loved that tip
yes please share tips on video editing ! I love how easy and clear you explain the information in your videos
I don’t make vlogs but your personality and energy made me feel better after a stressful day. thank you.
Omg! That first Automator portion is a LIFESAVER!!!!! I knew their had to be a way
Girl I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your vids, how authentic you are, & how much passion you have in sharing your behind the scenes work. You're amazing! Thank you
color coding with the adjustment layer is literally brilliant! thank you so much for these tips
I would LOVE you to do one or more editing tool/process videos! PLEASE!
That adjustment layer trick to keep your timeline organized is clever. You are a gold mine!
Yes, I'd love to learn more about Davinci Resolve! I'm brand new to editing and have chosen this software.
This is brilliant. Thank you so much! I just started my travel vlog as a digital nomad and this is helping me so much with my first video!
Yes, please start a tutorial series on free Da Vinci. I have been wanting to dabble with it, but i am intimidated by it
Yes, I would like for you to help us more in the area of editing. I am trying to learn it and having such a hard time. It's like trying to understand a foreign language to me. Thank you so much for all of your help.

Yay I needed tips lol. Loved this video, I love how you edit, so this was super helpful! I use Final Cut

I am so glad to have found your Channel and thank you for the well detailed video.
What happened at 11:55 to 12:14? A glitch in the Matrix?
ahhh no!! a glitch in exporting unfortunately 💀 (gotta love Premiere Pro! lol) you'll have to watch the full vlog over on www.youtube.com/@katieanddan to see the full example I guess. Sorry about that!
This video is gold. Your transparency is key. We appreciate you

I’m just learning and I found this so helpful - even the nuggets of moving your clips to your external drive and working from there. So so helpful for a 60+ total newbie (do they still say newbie?😂). Anyhoo, thank you!

haha that's iconic!!
This is so incredibly helpful you have no idea thank you

Ohh its so informative😮 thank you siss❤❤❤😊
Would love a Davinci Resolve tutorial!
That renaming your files hack by the time they were filmed - oh man - you just changed my life! 🙀
Ooo I need to set up that automator function that can be really helpful. But I usually save all my footage in different folders according to the camera. So I have GoPro, iPhone, Sony folders and then I just drop everything into my timeline. And start editing it’s not always in chronological order 😅
I personally find it helpful to be able to see everything in chronological order to make sure I didn't miss anything, etc - so the rename function is super helpful for that 🙌🏻
I would love a video on premier pro! ❤
I just purchased a year long subscription and a Sony zv-10 to start filming my art! You inspired me to start
I would love to watch a video of you editing a vlog from start to finish!
Verrrrry interested in resolve!! Trying to make the leap but learning a whole new platform is so daunting on top of everything else 😩
I like it, and I am so happy to see that my process is pretty similar, despite I am not a pro!
Would totally be interested in a Davinci Resolve tutorial for beginners. Been wanting to improve my editing with a free program like Davinci
Love the video. Also, Yes to Davinci! Would love some editing tips and hacks for it ❤
That file date / time trick is cool will have to look up if this avail for PC 2:36
Great video once again! Your way of explaining things is just so easy to understand thank you so much for helping us!!! :)
I am so bad with storage and need to get better. what is the external hard drive you are using with you mac?
this is brilliant, a fantastic new video ❤❤❤
Such great information in this video, thank you for sharing!
was hoping you were going to touch on export file types for RUclips, and 1080 vs 4k footage with your opinion. Maybe another video.
So helpful Katie, thank you! Your tips helped answer questions I didn't know I had.
What type of external hard drive do you use or recommend? I never thought about that, so good to know you use one, thank you!
thanks for the rename hack! Its exactly what I needed😍
That was really concise and well presented! Definitely a skill I need to practice
I love this video thank you so much. I'm trying to learn Adobe Premier pro. I love it but it is so confusing. Lol
