I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I don't believe the minor upgrades in the iPhone 15 Pro Max will justify an immediate upgrade for me. I'm more inclined to wait another year and upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which I anticipate will offer significant improvements and be a much more compelling choice compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
May as well wait till 20 pro max

@Infeqted If you want the latest, get the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, I heard the battery life should be better on it this time around. The 14's I heard had several battery issues, and the battery health progressively got worse over time. However, if you don't care much about either, go for the iPhone 14 Pro Max

I don’t think coming from my 13 pro max I don’t think it worth upgrading yet. I’ll wait for the 16 pro max and stick to a 3 year cycle rather than a two year cycle I used to do pre 13 release.

The biggest thing is the battery health tbh, wife iPhone 14 pro max under 1 year of usage is currently at 93%. Doesn’t over charge it nor does she drain it to 0% … hopefully this was fix 😒
if the overwhelming majority of time you keep your phone in the 20%-80% range, and don’t run it hot (playing genshin impact at max settings while magsafe charging in direct sunlight, etc) you can achieve pretty nice battery health even after a couple of years. my 13PM I got a month after release is still at 92%.

My 11 pro is at 80% right now and i over charge/drain too many times. Whats the point of getting obsessed over battery percentage if you're anyhow gonna exchange after 3-4 years max?

almost never more than 80% and never less than 20% is the key.
My 14p is at 93% I’ve had since launch so it’s about a year that’s not bad.

1. The color of the 15’s will overtime rub off since it is anodised.
2. There is no Deep Purple and very Blah colors this time

Get the 15 if you don't have the 14 because the 14 has battery degradation issues. This is a well known issue. As for the ones waiting to see something big from Apple, the 16 will most likely be the biggest improvement in a while and after that, it is all about 2027, when the EU has mandated that all portable electronics must have a user-friendly removable battery without the use of any special tools.
@Harvest1212 Thanks for the heads up about the battery issues with the 14. I've been on the fence about upgrading, but I might consider the 15 now. It's interesting to hear about the EU mandate for 2027. It'll be a game-changer if all electronics manufacturers have to make their batteries user-removable. Appreciate the info! 👍

I’m in the apple upgrade program so I get the new phone every year. Essentially, I’m renting/leasing the iphone, but it’s nice to get the bew phone every year and always enjoy the new features.

I don’t think it’s a necessary upgrade, but a fun upgrade if you can! unless you’re part of an upgrade program. I think it’s also a slap in the face from Apple that, even though they were forced to upgrade to USB-C, the data transfer rates are reduced on the non-pro options. They changed the decade old charging port, but they’re not happy about it. USB-3 technology has been around for a while, how difficult would it be to make the change?

Because the A16 chip, which is carried forward from the 14 pros, does not have a USB 3 controller.
Not warranting Apple’s decision, but… How much data are you really transferring on the non-PRO??? Remember, you don’t get RAW nor any Pro-res options on the non-PRO versions… the non-PRO use 48 MP cams but spits out 5MB compressed HEIF images, unlike the PROs give you full RAW with up to 75MB images. Similarly Pro-res options that create huge video files…
@@TheRealK6 that’s a good point, I just think that not allowing the option to fully utilize potential features on a brand new, $800 smart phone is worth noting. The 15s can still shoot in 4k, and USB 2.0 has been around for what like 20 years? Not to mention that we’re still clocking 20 watt charging speeds. I think they made a decision to avoid upgrading these specs because they new the base of users buying the 15 don’t know or don’t care about these features. Smart on their part- Apple is great at making money. I’m fully invested in they’re ecosystem. But I also think it’s lazy, and that the consumers suffer whether they know it or not.

I’m keeping my 13 pro max as the upgrades on the 15 pro max aren’t enough for me to want to upgrade. I was hoping for a 10x periscope zoom to compete with the Samsung S22/S23 Ultra. Apple fell short yet again, though I shouldn’t be surprised with Tim (bean counter) Cook in charge where profit stifles innovation

I am usually upgrading after ~ four years, I went from 3G to 4S to 6S to 11 Pro and now I’ve preordered 15 Pro, but this is the most incremental upgrade ever. There were leaps between 4S, 6S and 11 Pro, but all I’am getting right now is 5G (instead of gigabit LTE so…), better cameras and…bulkier design. We are not really going crazy about a freaking USB C 3.0 connector in 2023, are we 🤣. Meh I might even resell it if I get mine on 22nd 🙈🤣.

I've got to give you (and your team?) credit here! I've seen many RUclipsrs, including MKBHD, and even pro photographers say that the 15 Pro has a bigger sensor than the 14 Pro, but Apple never said that! So glad that you pointed it out!
As a photographer, the USB C alone makes me excited, as I now won't have to pack an entirely separate cable to transfer my images while I'm at an event. I can now use my ProGrade USB C card reader with my iPhone/MacBook Pro/iPad, which makes things extremely convenient for me. Being able to insert the ProGrade USB C card reader directly into my iPhone gives me the ability to quickly import images into Lightroom mobile, make bulk local adjustments, and then AirDrop the images to my clients for a quick recap of the event. It may sound small to many, but it definitely makes a huge difference to me.

Going to see how reviews are but I’m definitely planning on upgrading to the 15 pro. Currently using a 13 and the phone is still holding up pretty well. Only complaint is that my battery is starting to drop. Mainly planning on upgrading for the better battery, USB-C, and the added camera.

My REGRET is that I did not go with the Pro Max with even more HD space.
I have a 256gb HD on my 14 Pro now but next phone I will get a 1tb drive.
While the sensors and lenses haven’t changed on the 15 Pro (other than the new anti reflective coating), it sounds like they have significantly improved the ISP which IS hardware. That hardware is what enables the photonic engine to be used in more lighting scenarios and the higher quality 24MP default images and the always on portrait mode and the 4K60 Pro Res. The new ISP along with the new Neural engine sounds like it is going to make a huge improvement to the photo and video quality, even without changing any other hardware. We will find out soon!! I ordered a 15 Pro Max 256GB Natural titanium as soon as pre orders opened and still couldn’t get one on the 22nd. Apple says it’ll arrive 2-6 of October. Patience is a virtue.

Upgrading, 14 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max. Ordered last night, 5-6 week wait for delivery. Camera, battery, USB-C, more palm-friendly, makes it worth fuelling my addiction.
Upgrading to iPhone 15 Pro from an iPhone 11 Pro. Very excited. I played around with the Nothing Phone 1 for about six months and it’s a lovely piece of stylish hardware but I just miss iOS too much, especially as I use an M2 MacBook Air, iPad Air, and Apple TV. Apple ecosystem got me hooked in lol. I hate using Google services, the apps look tacky, and I don’t feel like it’s private or secure.
Us buddy us- iPhone 11 here- upgraded to s23 ultra- selling it off and will buy 15 Pro grudgingly, I really don't want to upgrade to 15 Pro- but 23 ultra just doesn't feel secure enough

Considering the iPhone 14 pro max that I had for a year now, I don’t find iPhones to have a huge upgrade till I would say iPhone 18. These small changes in these iPhones should have been had these upgrades since iPhone 11 launched. It’s not like they don’t have the technology or money to do so, they just selfish in there own ways. why did it take this long to get these upgrades that we been asking for since iPhone 11 launched.
It really depends on what phone you have like the 13 or 14 should never upgrade due to wasting money

Honestly save your money and get a Iphone 12 (Any model) thats the models that started to use 5G and that is probably the best upgrade from a Iphone User. I went from a 13 pro max to a 12 mini and love it, paid 175$ and had enough leftover to buy a apple watch 7. I have 5G and UW for Verizon and its beautifully fast.
I'm upgrading from a 14 Pro Max to a regular 15 Pro. I just miss having a lighter pro phone without losing the pro features. And I greatly prefer the white titanium finish over my current deep purple. I had gone for the larger phone for better battery life but the new 3nm chip is going to be much more efficient so no sacrifices (apart from the 5x, which I am fine with as I keep the 3x lens).

Not sure why your video has gotten so many thumbs down. I am coming from an 11 Pro currently on life support at 76% batter health... My 15 Pro Max arrives on Friday and I am very excited. However, if you have a 14 Pro or Pro Max already, I would definitely wait to upgrade.
I’ve owned lighter phones before and they just felt cheap, although being light was certainly helpful on my hands I guess. Having said that I really like the heftiness of my 14PM.

I have a 14 Pro in a bombproof Casetify. Due for an upgrade next year. All the 15 upgrades will be on The 16 and more. Anyone who falls for yearly upgrades either lights their cigars with a pack of $100 bills or is as dumb as W suggested when he said "Go shopping" while we lie and destroy The Middle East. I work in an Alaskan National Park and am always interested in camera upgrades of which there are always more next time.

I just got an iPhone 14 pro max for £800 here in the UK. It’s an amazing phone and I simply couldn’t justify another £400 for a 15 pro max with minimal upgrades.

Personally I’ll be using the action button for the torch. Would be good to use for the camera but you can already swipe left on the Lock Screen for that.
There’s also the torch button on the Lock Screen.
Just hope it doesn’t turn on by accident in class 😅

The main reason why I bought 15 Pro (I have 9month old 14 Pro) is the battery. I will have to service the battery on this next year eventually which costs money.
So the true cost to upgrade isn’t that much and as my phone is my main tool for my business i truly use the camera and the phone itself even too much, so why not upgrade it then ?

As beautiful as it is, this iPhone 15 pro is way overkill for around 99.9% of the population. If Apple brings pro motion to the iPhone 16 (not pro), that is what I would personally consider getting. Yet, so many people out there who cry poverty will just buy it anyway. Blows my mind. 🤯

I reeeally want that iphone 15 pro max zoom, but the size of the phone is unfathomable for me. It’s frustrating to me but I am getting the 15 pro because it is more practical in my hands and easier the move around in pockets/bags etc.
The 15 Pro is a beast, the Pro Max is indeed a chungus lol, but if you want that zoom on the Pro you should wait for the 16 Pro although they are planning to increase it to 6.3 inches from leaks and the 16 Ultra will replace the Pro Max
It’s never worth it to buy iPhone n Pro if you own and use an iPhone (n-1) Pro, no matter what upgrades are involved. But ya, if you have the money, go for it!
Please know that iphones are made extremely well and should last ATLEAST 3 years. You can even stretch that to 5 years specially with the newer phones.
None of the new features change how I’d use my phone. I’m not a power user but my 14 Pro Max does what I need it to. A better screen is important to me but I bet that’s in the 16. I’ll stay with my 14, but it’s your money so go crazy!

Should I upgrade from the 14 Pro to the 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max? Currently, I have the iPhone 14 Pro Space Black 256GB which has scrolling stuttering, battery life is bad, it has lags in the Camera app and some games and overheating issues. Battery and Camera are the most important things for me and I used a 12PM before which was too big and heavy to use, but now there is the lighter Titanium material and the curved edges make it feel more comfortable to use. So therefore, should I still chose the 15 Pro Max over the 15 Pro this year? Also, is 256Gb enough? And, which color would you choose?
I think coming from a 14 Pro your best bet is 15 Pro, size wise you’re used to handling that.
I would choose the 15pm if storage is your main concern. With the new 3.0 USB port you can get the base 256 and connect an external SSD drive via USB and shoot directly on there. The new 15pm will be the lightest since the 11pm.

I’m sticking with my IPhone 12 Pro for a couple more years, or until Apple unveils a brand new design like they did with the iPhone 6 with the thin design or with the iPhone X with the no bezels or home button.

Saying minuscule changes will make a difference to make them “more comfortable to use for long periods of time” is exactly why the younger generations are laughed at by older people and are considered so mentally weak. 🤦♂️

See, 12 Pro will easily last another 2-3 years EASILY. Hardware wise, it’ll last 10 years from release. But if you’re excited to receive more features, or have any issues with the 12 Pro, you should definitely look for 15 or 14 series.
3 years is a decent upgrade but like he said it’s still good. I’m coming from the 11 pro & I just didn’t want to wait longer 🤷🏻♂️
This is a pretty subjective question. Is your phone slow that it affects your daily use? Has Apple stopped supporting it? Is something broken that you can’t live with anymore? Or do you just want the best features right here and now? Only you can answer this. Your 12 can technically last for another decade if you take care of it. Is it gonna slow down? Probably, but it still works.

It’s really not worth the upgrade. Most people use cases so dont care about the weight difference that much anyways. I love the physical mute button-double tap power button for camera. Performance is not that noticeable since the 14 pro max is a beast anyways. And the camera upgrade matters maybe if you are a pro photographer.

USB-c was the kicker to me, I'm a long time android user, my friends have been bugging me to switch for years. I'm going pro because the 3nm chip. I'm pretty excited to get a magsafe stand and use my phone as a clock in standby mode.
I almost preordered but I am holding off due to income changes due to retirement and I’ll see how reviews go first. I have the 12 Pro Max so it would definitely be an upgrade so maybe by the end of the year or I’ll be waiting another year.

I have a 12 Pro Max and still don’t see any compelling reason to upgrade - for my use case. After seeing how small the upgrades are I’m happy to wait another year.

After the 09/12 keynote, I went ahead and purchased a 14 pro. The performance difference is barely 5-8% and the extra $100 is not justified.
iPhone 14 Pro series had 15x digital zoom with 3x optical zoom. As of calculations, Apple should allow 5/3 x 15 = 25x zoom, considering 5x optical zoom for 15 Pro Max.

16 Ultra is rumoured to do 10 x optical so that means it’ll get a 50 x digital, 16 Pro is rumoured to get that 5 x passed down which is also very good

Hey zone of tech the only thing that pple are looking forward to is the hardware specs like the usb type c charging port,the titanium body,the 5x zoom camera. And for the teaser it's either a new podcast chanel, a new march of clothing line maybe hoodiee, sock,t shirt,or maybe a partnership with a case company to produce your branded cases for various devices.

I have the 14 Pro. Definitely not worth the upgrade. The 15 Pro is an incredibly weak refresh.
Btw, the 14 Pro now does 48mp HEIC files. So basically, all this noise about the 15 Pro pixel-binning 24mp camera is moot. The 14 Pro can do regular 48mp shots now w/6mb files.

I upgraded from my 4 month old 14 pro max simply because I don't use cases and got tired of the non stop finger prints on the frame.
That natural titanium looks amazing, and it's lighter weight …
Could care less about specs, doub't I'll even notice the difference, USB-C will be nice, no more multiple cables and adapters when I travel.
It's a definite upgrade for users of the iPhone 13 Pros and older.
