The original muffler he chopped out is worth more than what was done. Now he’s basically has a mismatched exhaust of different size piping. What was the use of the 3 inch downpipes when the exhaust shop necked it down to 2.5”
that's what I was thinking. Back pressure is a myth in 4 stroke engines. You want scavenging. Beyond that, in turbo engines, any restriction behind the turbos is reducing power.
All of these visits could've been avoided by just doing research and buying once, done it once... youtube, theres more people doing the same to their x5m's. See what they did and chose if you like it.
every M sounds really bad revving but sounds better when its actually driving but if someone keeps coming back to change something he obviously don't like the car sound period but forcing himself to like it.

go for the 35i for reliability. N55 engine is very reliable and has some tuning potential as well. 50i is also reliable for any F15 X5 2014+. X5M is also decently reliable as long as you do spark plugs every 15k and oil change every 6k. X5M is definitely a beast tho

I'm not really sure why you would do this instead of buying a nice cat-back. Typically you would hack off things and put pipe in it's place for financial reasons. However, if you have the money to afford this car, then go catless AND get the exhaust modified three different times? That's probably the same price as a nice Borla/Magnaflow system while retaining the factory valves. Besides the fact you'd most certainly gain more from a tune with a real system. The math ain't mathing. It sounds alright for what it is. Also, I would never slam off limiter in something like this. Especially 1st or even 2nd gear. But then again I'm a brokie so what do I know.
@@ESautos on every other vehicle I've heard it makes it worse I'm used to Mustangs and F-150s with x-pipes that are super raspy when they switch out to H pipes the tone is way better and less raspy so maybe it depends on the vehicle
That’s the Oil temp gauge BMWs don’t have coolant temp gauges and that’s not cold once the needle passes the 160 you’re good to beat on it oil temps on average for these 210-220 normal driving and 230-250 beating on it

@@3n3ly7m9 as stock it sounds terrible - with the new mods it sounds much better - with a tune on top, you'll get burbles too so pretty awesome
the add on mods done here are much cheaper - it's actually better to do one by one so you know what you like and don't like and configure from there

It’s this particular generation of the S 63 engine that has a lot of rasp. The LCI F90 M5 and M8 don’t have this issue.

I scratched the muffler and added mbrp race muffler and it sounds absolutely amazing burples like a champ and no drone loud outside quit in the car

Uhhhh you don’t want back pressure on a turbo motor. You can make a 3inch fit there. Theres no need to go down to a 2.5 inch

X pipe makes it more raspy, needs an H pipe for lower tone and if there is a drone issue J pipes will take care of that
