    Great personality!!! Funny!!! One suggestion,it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean all the old oil (sludge) from around the drain plug before you put it back on after draining the oil. Just a way to assure that you don't get any contamination in the oil and then in the engine

  • @lukewestrick3298
    @lukewestrick3298 6 лет назад +2

    To prime your fuel system on Cummins Celect just turn your key on, engine off and the lift pump runs for 3 min. That will fill that fuel filter up so you don’t have to crank it so long.

    I usually use my air hammer and a punch adapter to punch holes in the oil filters.. helps out a lot. And I never pre fill the filters. Just spin them on dry.

      @MrKlenkster13 7 лет назад +1

      channelofstuff people also don't realize that the oil pickup is in the pan not the filter. Lol but I usually like to put some oil in the filter and lube the seal

    I helped an owner/operator friend with his truck's oil change. I had never been under the hood of one before and what an education. His catch can is a cut off oil drum with some handles welded on. That should have been my first clue. I removed the drain plug and watched 11gallons of oil drain out! The filter took one gallon to pre-fill it.
    I agree you should pre-fill the filter. We loosened the filter, then put a trash bag over the filter and removed it, the trash bag kept any oil from dripping onto the floor.

    Never get rid of your n14, those things are tanks. My neighbor and his buddy are heavy equipment mechanics for a local well drilling company and have nothing but good things to say about them. New trucks are junk and the def/egr make the engines not last as long

    Your creeper has bling. Lol That oil pan is bad ass. Cummins makes great engines some of our equipment has Cummins in them. We use OEM filters as well. They never make shit easy to get to. All goes back to the jack ass engineers I mentioned in your last video. Great video. Keep'em rolling.

      JERM C yeah the new creeper that's one of the best creepers and I've got it rolls really easy over rocks and I'll kinds of gravel that's on the floor so I like it

    You can fill the oil filter. Just fill the intake(the edges) so there isn't a contamination issue. If you are a repair shop nobody cares but i'm a fleet mechanic so that won't fly. I had to throw out an oil filter because it was left open on a shelf.

      No need for a lift, just make a pit to park the truck over, add some stairs and air lines, some lights and a badaboom easy acces underneath the truck

    I've done the hole-in-the-filter trick... I keep thinking one day I'll sharpen a piece of steel tubing and try that... the problem which can occur with
    the punch is that the little stream of oil can get blown around by the wind.

    Do you use the drain connectors that have the screw cap on your own trucks with the screw on oil release drains? I use them and enjoy the fact I can completely control the drain into 5 gallon pales without ever getting dirty. I'll look up the brand. I'm trying to find what you use for fuel wrenches. I have two IC300 Cummins and the Sterling has great access. The Kenworth Paccar versions is very tight. My works, trying to find something better.

I poke every oil filter or for a cummins one big ass filter and let the drain while I grease check for defects then go drop the filters and put new ones on shit you can poke them at any angle lol. Not talking shit only saying. Any filter can be poked with a ladies foot/ pry bar

    • @FGuilt

      Won't that thin the oil out and cause cylinder damage?

    • @Jerzeyguy
      @Jerzeyguy 7 лет назад

      F!@#Guilt no cylinder damage at all you're only adding 1 gallon of diesel versus 10 to 14 gallons of oil it just loosens up the sludge and takes it out when the motor is hot add A gallon of diesel and let it idle for 10 minutes drop the drain plug and let it drain you'll see the difference been doing it for years no problems
