Not always. I used to have a male cat who was NOT neutered and he would go out into the snow; he didn't care. He loved being out and about.

I love this. ❤ My cats were lucky enough to see snow when they were both still kittens (brother and sister). 😊 They were so excited and kept chirping at it while it was falling; it was so cute. We don't get snow very often here, so it was really nice, and I thought it was very special that they got to see it at such a young age.

Isn't it funny how different each cat is, some love the snow, some hate it. Some play, some hide, a few don't care and some want to kill the snow. Every cat has its own personality.
my cat hated snow. one time my mum opened the front door to let him out he hesitated and backed away when he saw the snow. he then ran round to the back door. only to discover there was snow at the back of the house as well.

Some Cats dont like Water but love Snow! Is wonderful to see how they play in Snow!
Although these are fun to watch, people NEED to remember that a cat's PAWS are quite sensitive! When they have that delicate layer of skin on that snow/ice, it can cause them hell just like it does us. So let them have fun if they want, but do it sparingly!

The cat near the end that jumped up in the air to catch a snowflake and then ran away with a hump in its back was the best. But the dark grey cat at the end was the coolest cat. That cat reminds me of my childhood cat named Midnight. Kudos !!! 👍😃
Cats always have fun and fun to be around just awesome love all kitties and cats. And more kitties is never enough we all need at least ten so they all have a buddy to play with.
I remember 2 years ago it snowed in Texas and we managed to build a snow man when he was only few months old and he ran into the snow man it was hilarious should have recorded it

Makes me miss darling Tigger... she was such a good kitty. Always made sure to bang on the hood of my car, just to be sure she wasn’t sleeping in the wheel wells. Which happened when I’d come home late.

WHAT SNOW.....I absolutely loved all these clips. I really enjoy watching cats, dogs and especially horses playing in the snow. We don't get snow like that here in England. I can't wait to see my dog in snow this winter, I'm sure he'd love it...just to have to wait and see

@@SusanKay- That is precious. My persian "Mr King" never likes the outdoors, I can literally leave the door open in front of him and he will not take a step out. So I hope the snow will help him like the outside a bit but I could be wrong. Now my himalayan will go out no problem, I will have to keep an eye on him though. He is a bit wild and may try to make a run for the boarder... Oddly though it seems this year will be a late winter for us in Columbus. Some say it is 20 degrees warmer this year than the norm. We had some snow early November but it never got more that like an inch or two on the ground. I want to toss them into a foot or two... 8)
@@SusanKay- To funny, I could only imagine the chuckle your neighbors got from that escapade. Considering I have no child of my own and always wanted a son, yea they are my baby boys. Thank GOD daily for Mr King, he is my heart. I can not wait to see his head popping out of the powdery snow, his head is white with the spuds black spot over his eye. It is raining outside atm... WISH IT WAS SNOWING! lol
@@SusanKay- I also have found that the male kitties are my favorite as well though I do like his sister whom my ex has. Mr King is a beautiful boy and yes he sticks to me, stays on my desk all day and all night. It is quite a task keeping a keyboard and him in perfect balance. Wish I had some travel tips for you. Leo went up to Ohio early with my mother and I hear he did well but Mr King was crying most of the way. Only time he did not cry was the last leg of the trip when he went under the seat and fell asleep. Think he cried himself to sleep.. I am so very lucky to have him though, it has been a rough year for me and I do not know what I would do without him. He is a big blessing to my heart and sanity.

My dad is from Alabama. He didn't see snow until he moved up here to Washington, DC, and that was when he was in his 20's.

I used to have a kitty that would play in the snow with me as a child. One time, we got like 3 feet of snow and I spent the next couple days off of school just digging paths through the yard and pretending I was a rabbit or something in a burrow, digging tunnels. The paths were nonsensical and just went all over my yard. Caught my cat following me through the paths all the time, even chasing me through them from time to time.
When I went inside, she continued to just wander the paths and explore them, over and over again. Maybe it's because they were the easiest and only way to get around. Maybe, at eye level for a cat... 3 feet of snow on any side of you is somehow magical, confining, and safe.
Or, maybe my cat was just a weirdo who loved snow as much as I do.
Need little kitty snowshoes...call them meowshos.

a lot of people think domesticated cats cannot take cold weather , but they can . i learned this this firsthand when many years ago when i worked in a junkyard in helena montana , where the temperature often drops to 20 below during wintertime . in spite of this there were stray cats that lived in the junkyard . they were sleeping in cars that had a window down or broken out , but the temperature in the cars is just as low as it is outside it just keeps them out of direct contact with the wind and snow . and these were just short-haired cats , not ones with extra thick coats . it surprised me that they were thriving in such a cold climate . you must realize that cats have evolved over millions of years to withstand cold weather , they do not hibernate but remain active through the winter . so anyone who thinks house cats cannot withstand very cold temperatures , is obviously wrong
