it is really a pleasure to hear the 3 of them talk together about our beloved Freddie. they are really relaxed and it almost feels like we are all at garden lodge around a glass of champagne talking ! Mike Moran is such a nice guy, he's brilliant artistically, he's funny and seems to be very kind. Peter Straker is what he's, he can annoy a lot of people because he talks loud he's always laughing and tries to answer all the questions but in the end despite what happened at the end of Freddie's life in their friendship, I think they really loved each other. and then you have Phoebe, everything has already been said about him, he was maybe the most loyal friend Freddie never had. So I hope that these 3 amazing guys will meet again on a stage and do the same thing soon!!!!
Freddie was not in my generation, so very thank you for sharing this, I always like to know about stories of his musical talents, not just his personal life.
Love the story Mike Moran told where Freddie was fussying about how the dinner table was been laid out in Garden Lodge. Mike said Freddie why are you fussying its only us your friends.. Then without thinking Freddie said THATS WHY IM FUSSYING.
Love the stories. I could listen all day. Peter Strakker has the same sense of humour as Freddie...I can see why they bonded. He said he's not gonna ask the other Queen members if they like him just in case they said no. Hahaha sounds very Freddie like.
What an Extraordinary group of friends of Freddie remembering & enjoying their times with him giving us insights to him in a personal level. I must say I absolutely loved this session & also so regretted that on Freddie’s memorial concert the band did not ask P. Straker to perform but brought people who were Not close friend on stage🙄😡Frankly it was just treated as another concert for the band I always thought. Some of those people couldn’t care about him they just did it for publicity for sure🙄others much closer to him & friends of him would have done it from their ❤️ 🙄🙄😡😡👎That has Always been my critic for that so called send off of Freddie by his 3 band members😡🙄Thank you for uploading this Absolutely delightful gathering of friends talking about Marvellous Freddie!👏👏👍👍
From start to finish, this was an absolute delight! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful stories about a true friend and legend, Freddie Mercury💖

How Fortunate for these guys to reach their age. I am imagining how this talk will turn out if Freddie is there saying "darling". If Freddie has the opportunity to watch this wherever he is, I am sure he is laughing his heart out!

I nearly stop breathing listening to it. Had never heard anybody sings like that. It brings tears to my eyes. I love it so much. Lesley Anne Jones wrote a Biography on Freddie Mercury in which she explained Straker's relationship with Freddie in which she explains why they fell out and I suppose why he was not invited to his funeral and his Tribute Concert. Fred was always bailing Straker out financially and once he needed some money to renovate his bathroom, Fred apparently gave him the money but he dissapated it (probably on champagne as someone else was paying as in this interview). Fred felt let down or taken for granted or manipulated so they stopped speaking. Straker was not a true friend to Fred as Fred was with him. When Fred passed Straker made dispargaing and belittling comments about Fred's ethnicity/ heritage and scoffed that Fred pretended to be Persian when infact he was just Indian. He says this with such pleasure, revealing Fred's achilles heal I suppose. Not the actions of a true friend but a a self serving jealous sycophantic Frenenemy. Sad it took Fred so long to recognise Straker's real colours.

Queen is one of the best bands of all time in my opinion and in many people’s opinion.. screw the critics! The critics don’t pay the bills!! The fans are the ones that love & pay for the artists; & their work, regardless of the particular style of music, literature, or art they do. Everybody has their own distinct tastes. For example, I prefer Rock and pop rock; however, if someone comes out with a terrible pop rock song and Carrie underwood comes out with an incredible country song, i’m going to get Carrie underwood even though I don’t really like country music. Hot space was Queen’s worst album allegedly, but I actually like about four songs or so off of that album. I think if a person likes at least four or five of the songs they should definitely get the album because the 45s used to be $2.00 back in the 1970s and early 1980s and the albums back then we’re about eight to $10.
Oh my goodness, why did they include Peter Straker in this event? No one could get word in. Even Mike looked like he was fed up with Peter's self-centered anecdotes. He literally derailed every great question about Freddie with useless unimportant and self-aggrandizing anecdotes about himself that no one cares about.
According to Phoebe Peter Straker was a bit of a taker. He borrowed a large sum of money from Freddie to remodel his kitchen and never paid it back. He says he mentioned to Freddie that Straker's friendship was one sided and he felt he took advantage and Freddie admonished him that he was aware but he would cut ties when HE decided to.
Yes indeed which Freddie did do when he was in the last few months of his life when he refused to see Peter Straker & he totally cut off him off & he was not invited to his funeral etc

Both Peters were long time friends with "your" Freddie. People want to hear their stories about lube with Freddie.... I'm sure they are more interesting than yours.
I could never warm to Peter Freestone. I've always found him a bit of a poser, a hanger-on, insincere. Loooove Peter Strakers laugh! (and singing voice!!)
You have to remember that Peter was never a star, performer or actor. In the beginning he was just an employee who grew into one of Freddie's closest friends. He doesn't dine out on his position, but he has the knowledge to give an insiders view. He does that whilst also showing the utmost respect for Fred.
Peter Freestone (Phoebe) and Freddie also shared a special bond/connection because of their childhood and youth spent in boarding schools in India away from their respective families. It forged something between them. Also, just because somebody isn't a famous talent doesn't mean they are "hangers-on". Sometimes, those are the people Freddie needed the most in his life - witness Mary Austin, Jim Hutton, Phoebe, and Joe Fanelli -- all four "normal people" who cared for Freddie right up till his very last moments.
Why do you say that? Peter Freestone, (Phoebe,) was one of Freddie's closest and most loyal friends, even through Freddie's dying process. He is one of the few people Freddie left anything ($) to in his will. I don't find Peter Straker appealing at all in this interview. Mike More on the other hand, seems like a wonderful friend. There's a nice interview with him alone, speaking about Freddie. ruclips.net/video/RBmMAj1E2jk/видео.html
@@sherrys7854 Agree. Peter tried to make everything about himself. Very unappealing. I'm sad to say but I sort of now understand possibly why Freddie cut him off towards the end. Seems very self interested.
