  • Jan Ruff O'Herne has a captivating lightness of spirit which you might find surprising given her incredible story. She was just 21 when she was taken prisoner in Java in 1942 and forced into a Japanese military brothel. It was an experience she kept hidden for 50 years until launching into a journey of truth and healing late in life.

Whenever I recall the degrading and gut-wrenching abuse to which she was subjected by the Japanese, I feel the utmost pity for her and the deepest hatred toward those who precipitated her into slavery, abused and humiliated her. Yet, she chose to forgive her tormentors, and this truly touched my heart. What an amazing woman!

What an incredibly strong woman Mrs. O'Herne is. To me this is a story not of Japanese cruelty but a story of strength and resilience found in faith. How fortunate she was to have had such a strong faith at such an early age to help her through the terrible circumstances she found herself in. No doubt it is her continuing faith that sees her through to the present. I find her to be a VERY inspiring woman. God bless her.

Japan has to make peace with history and lying and saying it did not happened will not do any good for future generations

One of his latest entries is entitled “Troublesome Koreans - A journey in modern and contemporary history.” He begins by pointing out, “I am not a historian. However, history textbooks ignore that epoch’s status quo and single out Japan’s actions, fabricating Japan’s history and viewing it in a bad light.” He claims he cannot forgive this reasoning, which he says is a result of Japan’s left-wing historians who have a “poisoned” perspective that has brainwashed current generations of Japanese children.

The term "Comfort Women" is a direct translation of a Japanese term ianfu (慰安婦) which is a euphemism for prostitute(s) and is thus NOT a correct term because it misleads many people who hear it for the first time.
The obvious reason why Japanese and Japanese government have used the term "Comfort Women" (ianfu, 慰安婦, prostitutes) is because they want to argue to the whole world that "Comfort Women" are prostitutes who voluntarily followed Japanese troops in the warfronts during WW2.

Shingo Nishimura, Japan's delinquent politician, is charged with cruel insult & defamation of war victims (Korean women & other victims like Jan Ruff O'Herne), who had been forced to have sex with Japanese soldiers. (Aug. 28, 2013)
