Ben was, in my opinion, one of the most misunderstood and complex characters in the show. The overarching theme of the descending chromatic notes really paints a picture of his life and who he was. At first, and at many times in the song, it makes the song sound sinister and evil. But as it progresses it shows that it is also beautiful, bittersweet, and much more meaningful than just simply being evil, which is pretty much how his character develops as time goes on. And at the end, the final chord just feels incomplete. Like there's more to be written. Much like how at the end of the show, he feels pretty incomplete as well. Because you know that if given more time, he would try to make up for all that he's done. But just like everyone else, he ran out of time. I feel like this really reflects on his character of how all the bad things he has done, was just him trying his best, and how one action of his, and in general, his personality, seen in different perspectives can be viewed as both bad and good. Split, is a good way to refer to him as a character, and his actions. But no matter what section of the song you hear that from, you always are given have that saddening, overwhelming feeling; something of regret. And I think Ben, out of all the characters, regrets the most out of any other character. I doubt that I will ever see a show as good as this. Not only for the show itself, but the music was nothing less than incredible. And that's saying a lot, considering that I don't usually fall in love with symphonic pieces, but this one, this one is just different.
We are seeing the series these days for the 6th time. My thoughts on Bens Theme are the same the tension brought by the cromatic descending and the release of the next armonic movement!!! i love this theme.
I love this comment. I’ve always felt something for Ben. He was such a bad guy, but then look how his father treated him, and his mother died. Then trying to fit in within the Dharma Initiative and then not initially being wanted by the Others. Then losing Alex. I mean, he did a lot of bad things, but what a great character. And his themes are some of my favourite music in the series, along with ‘There’s No Place Like Home’. I have watched Lost through about 8 times now and I absolutely love it! My favourite tv show ever. The music, the acting, the storylines. Just everything. It holds a very special place in my heart 💞🥰
You are correct. However, most of the Losties we love so much also did bad things for reasons that they thought were good. Ben did bad things for reasons HE thought were good, mostly because he thought he was in charge of protecting the island. @@ShrinkingWallflower
Considering Micheal emerson was only meant to have a few episodes and then eventually lasted until the end, shows how good he was. Definitely played the Ben part brilliant
He is my fav caracter on the show Micheal emerson is also awesome in the first saw movie He is a good actor when i comes to playing a bad guy Because he also looks like a pychopath 😂
Ben is by far my favorite character on Lost. His story is incredible and so touching, and that episode with his daughter Alex...I'll remember it for the rest of my life...
This music is so strong I feel like my soul is physically teared apart while listening to it.. I mean.. there's just no words It is a pity Michael Giacchino's genius is so underrated
This track is a mix of sinister, tragic, unhinged yet human, perfect for ben
Ben’s arc was my favorite on the show.
Totally… Beautifully set to fail
The moment at 6:51 when Ben turns the wheel is permanently burned into my memory. Such a beautifully tragic theme for a character.
Yes! Same! So moving ❤
I hope your happy Jacob

Agreed. Thankfully, Hugo's comment in the afterlife suggests he did a lot of good in the world after the finale.

I always say that 50% of LOST are its characters, and the other 50% is the music. Those two are the core of LOST 😢❤
Ben was one of my favorite characters on the show.
why else would you be here :)

Because he also looks like a pychopath 😂
The ability of Giachino to capture the essence of each character is impressive. Listening to the track instantly brings Ben to mind. Hands down!!!
1:37 that part has always been my favorite part i wish there was an extended mix of that part.
It really is incredible. Hearing the first 2 chords you would expect to hear the main theme of the show. But no. I has a beautiful strange twist:)
He did so well in that role.
Crazy to think that he was only meant to appear in two or three episodes originally.
"If it helps you ben.. I forgive you.." "thank you John... it matters more than I can say..."
Absolutely fucking incredible theme
1:45 for me these notes sound so sinister yet sad likes he’s a tragic villain trying so hard to do good but will never be accepted as good so he weeps
Ben is by far my favorite character on Lost. His story is incredible and so touching, and that episode with his daughter Alex...I'll remember it for the rest of my life...
Honestly Ben is a terrifying character. Somehow he’s so polite (S3 final episode had me crying when he introduced himself) yet entirely unhinged
this is a lovely piece, thank you Buffyfan84, really nice quality upload :)
So wild that they're the reason Ben is who he is. Specifically Sayid, Kate and Sawyer.
This music is so strong I feel like my soul is physically teared apart while listening to it.. I mean.. there's just no words
It is a pity Michael Giacchino's genius is so underrated
" i'm very sorry for what i did to you, John. I was selfish... jealous... i wanted everything you have "
"what did I have..?"
“you were special John”
@@3rdEarlRussell “and I wasn’t…”
2:46 when he saw flashes of Alex in the black smoke being killed in front of his eyes
Best theme for the best character of the show.
He was the perfect choice for Ben.
Karma Has No Price :( the Best Ben Theme Ever...
❤️❤️❤️
"i watched my daughter Alex die in front of me" 💔
"I sacrificed a lot for this island.. all in the name of Jacob... and he didnt.. even.. care..."
"Yeah i stabbed him, i was... so angry, confused. I was terrified that i was about to lose the only thing that had ever mattered to me... my power"
"What, don't you read?"
Voidnick.
Da vontade de chorar 😢
