World Bowser is what got me into this theme but honestly the bit from the intro cutscene has such a satisfying big band feel to it

I love how nintendo went the opposite direction and threw in a wrong note from the wrong scale and emphasized on it so much on a swinging beat just to give jazz type music a more evil feel

Sprixie Kingdom goes so crazy omg
Okay, there’s a guitar riff towards the end of Tom Tom Club’s “Genius of Love” that has a very similar melody and rhythm to this version of Bowser’s theme. The riff is about a minute or so before the end of the song, and it’s only included in the 5 minute version, so you won’t find it in the music video. Considering how much Mario music is inspired by pop songs, I wouldn’t be surprised if this theme was inspired by that song.
