The great thing about 3D World's soundtrack is that anyone can make a case for any of its songs being tabked in any order and I'd agree.
I’ve always speculated Bowser’s Highway Showdown’s chords for the electric guitar are super similar to Bowser’s Castle from Mario Kart 8, if you listen closely.

Really like how when you explained your ranking of the music, you went more in depth into each instrument and how their combo works instead of saying like “This general section is epic.” As a violinist, you have my respect
I feel like some of these tracks have a little bit of Mario Galaxy sprinkled in. SOMEWHERE in those songs is making me feel super nostalgic.
They defenitly do some of the soundtrack is incredibly similar to mario galaxy 2 as mario galaxy 2 also had a lot of more jazzy and funky electro songs also same composer
I like Bowser's soundtracks so much, I always thought Bowser had the best soundtracks in Mario 3D World. They look like they're from a casino.

I definitely agree with your list for the most part. As a musician myself if I were to rank these myself I’d be looking at how they would implement numerous aspects, one of which was the “Big Band” that was very common during the WiiU Era (especially in Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World). Things such as tempo, texture, and shape can really play into the memorability of a song. My only gripe with the list is how “Champion’s Road” and “The Great Tower Showdown 1” weren’t on there, since ya know, the funny chase scene and nightmare fuel of a level lol, but I definitely agree with your Number 1, the goal of TGTS2 was to create that climbing sequence and that “final stretch” feeling, similar to how “Hatred and Malice Incarnate, Dark Beast Ganon” works from Breath of the Wild, it’s meant to create tension, but a moment of build up to state that it is the end. Also the final song that you included in Number 1 is titled “Curtain Call for Meowser” which won’t activate until you yeet Bowser and make him go boom lol. Overall this was a great video, and I really wanna see more of these since it’s interesting seeing other peoples’ takes on the music from numerous video games.
It may be short, but I think Chasing Bowser should've definitely been up here. It does such a great job in the 40 seconds it has to deliver adrenaline and get you ready for the final world (not including star worlds)
I stg Sunshine Seaside and Chainlink Charge almost made me cry because of how good the music was. It's like those songs where it's so beautiful that it gets emotional like Dire Dire Docks.
Ok, I obviously care about the music, yes lol -but can someone just talk about how clean these transitions are!? Other than the boss fight from songs 2-3-4, with the way toad is always centered or facing on the screen, *it looks like Toad is CONTINOUSLY PLAYING 1 LVL with the BEST SOUNDTRACKS EVER!!*
My personal favourite is World Bowser theme but I do respect the choices for the top 4. Didn't even remember the staff roll credits music being that good.
I respect your opinion on your list. Definitely the Great Tower of Bowser Land ending theme gives me goosebumps whenever I hear that final chord, then hearing the soft harp to acknowledge the completion of a great journey.
I kinda wished Simmering Lava Lake’s soundtrack was on the list, cause that song has been in my head for quite a while lol. It’s got some of the best electric guitar riffs I’ve heard in a Super Mario soundtrack and the trumpets add to the greatness of it! But overall, I enjoyed the list! 😄
The fact that The Showdown Looms is #3 surprised me. Great video though, I agree with every song, but I think Simmering Lava Lake, Bullet Bill Brigade, Beep Block Skyway, and World Mushroom/Flower are top 10 worthy as well.
Honestly, one song that I was surprised wasn’t on here, was World Mushrooms Soundtrack

It's a shame that "A Boss Approaches" was only used for like 20 seconds when Bowser's tent shows up. I have no idea why they didn't make that pseudo cutscene longer, so the player wouldn't just click past it.

I’m surprised there was no Super Block Land, Plessies Plunging Falls, or Hisstocrat. I know 2 of those songs are renditions of previous songs, but they just sound so good with the rest of the game. I see why they weren’t on this list though.

3. Bowser's Highway Showdown: Surprised this isn't #1 ngl
4. Sunshine Seaside: Sounds like something out of a modern Sonic game, I like it.
5. Footlight Lane: cave... need I say more?
