Steve Chou Chuan-huing (traditional Chinese: 周傳雄; pinyin: Zhōu Chuánxióng) is a Taiwanese composer and singer. He started singing and composing in 1989 and has written a variety of well known Chinese songs sung by famous singers and himself.
In 2000, his album, Transfer contained the hit song Huanghun (traditional Chinese: 黃昏), and was Zhou Chuan Xiong's breakthrough. In 2003, he released another album, Dubbing, which consists of many famous songs he had written before and some new songs. This album is his best so far, in terms of sales and chart numbers. The 2004 album Mixing was less warmly received. His next album, Xing Kong Xia De Xiao Shuo (Under The Star), came in 2005. His latest 2006 album is already in stores.

I noticed that Vietnamese translates smoothly when covering a Chinese song... More so then when other asian languages cover a Chinese song... Beautiful song :)

Some words are similar. Note that they are neighboring to Yunan so some similarity would be expected.
They are both tonal language so I guess it makes sense that they sound familiar. And Vietnam uses so many words with similar pronunciation too

Minh Tuyet is pretty cool. She performed at the New Year bash at Baby Club in Houston Texas and I was there to see her. I took a picture with her. She's actually really down to earth and cares about her audience. Now to me, that's a real celebrity. You need to reach back to your peeps. That's one of the main reason why she still has fans that love her.
My god I grew up with this song, my dad played vietnamese version of chinese songs throughout my life. I'm Viet-Canto so I heard Cantonese songs as well.
I just listened to the Canto version of this. I think original in Mando is best though

@aranoeleicr; it's easy to be of more than one heritage. one of her past relatives such as grandmiother, or gradnfather or greats grandparents were caucasian. The french pyror to World War 2 occupied Vietname for the rubber plantations, as a result there was wide spread mixing of races some of which shows up in later citizens such as taller kids, lighter hair, ect.

Don't be be douchebag. There are many Cantonese songs that are re-makes of Japanese and Mandarin songs. Look at those famous Hong Kong singers who re-write lyrics in Chinese and they become popular. You'd be surprise how many of those popular Canto songs are written by non-Chinese people. Ever look at the credit section at the beginning of Karaoke songs? I thought so. Chinese people should be proud and humble of their influence on others, not brag about and make people hate you.
