9 sprays!!!! I have an older bottle; I find the juice is so incredibly tenacious that it almost feels like it has the ability to self-replicate after it's sprayed. I don't think the projection is beastly, but its longevity is legendary. This stuff can survive through a cycle through the laundry. I can smell hints of this on my shirts after they have been through the washing machine and the dryer.
I just ordered this one. The oud in there is incredible. My first Xerfjoff. 40 knots smelled too floral to me, feminine leaning. It was between More Than Words and Naxos, so Naxos can wait for now.

That’s a totally fair review! Re 40 Knots, it might simply be having a moment, because it figured in some popular lists? I like it but I don’t need or love it. Red Hoba-and Don from the JTC line-are in my wishlist tho. I’ll give myself 4 years to get them 😅
I can highly recommend 40 Knots, it is one of my favourite perfumes I have in my collection. There’s something about the scent I can’t really pinpoint. Cozy, comforting, long lasting and beautiful. Would love to hear your take on it
Hey Marc, this one was slow grow on me, actually I used to sniff it a lot on hand and like you said it seemed solid Xerjoff (only join the club I have), but the more I actually wore it it grew on to me, it feels really powerful and sort of scent that makes you feel like you had energy dring or something it just drives me :) I like those kind of fragrances from time to time Great review as always, when you do a review of fragrance I own is when I actually realise how precise and accurate you are.

Oh one of my favorites! Sometimes I go to Nomade but when winter comes MTW rocking! This is beast mode when sit for a while! Fresh opened bottle have syrupy smell but after a month or two it's a killer.
Beast performance, it need’s to sit for 1/2 month , vert beautiful scent everytime i wore it i got a compliment .In my opinion best temperature to wear it, is between 10-25 degree celsius
It is interesting how you feel the fragrance is excellent but not necessarily FB worthy. Does that mean it does not align with your taste or that it is not unique enough? Nice video
I think it has many strengths but I feel others in the field do the same thing (especially the strongest note which is the rose can be found elsewhere).
@@robes08 - Makes sense. That is how I feel about several of their fragrances. Many of them are well blended and contain high quality ingredients. But they lack inspiration and the willingness to take a risk.
A nice fragrance but not one i would consider adding to the collection personally. Commandante is the only one i have from the JTC collection. That one is like a niche 1 million, which i love!

More Than Words was among the first niche fragrances I sampled when I was new to fragrance a few years ago. I knew I didn't like it enough back then to get a bottle, but this scent still pops into my head sometimes... Might be time to revisit!

I think i'll get a sample pack next year for Xerjoff instead of doing blind buying. I do have a solid list to sniff, may add a few.

More Than Words has a good projection and sillage, almost a room filler! I would say a nighttime scent and leans clearly feminine...

the performance off the unboxing was unreal so it has not changed imo from when I tested it in 2012.

I haven't smelled 40 knots in 10 years I really can't say which is better, but my calculated guess would be 40 knots is better for summer.

Completely different fragrance. This is more of a jammy rose and oud fragrance unlike lyric man is more of a soapy green rose.
