- The hell is this movie?
As HLVR:AI was a series that we had to be very secretive over during production, I thought it would be great to get the cast together and give HLVR:AI some Blu-Ray Disc Special Features. Join us as we re-watch the entirety of the series and talk about our favorite parts, what went wrong, things that didn't make it in the final cut (or just plain didn't show up on stream), *secrets*, and more. And on top of that, the last bit of this video features RARE Behind The Scenes footage recorded by our stagehand. Which means you get to see the series from outside the VR perspective. and hoo boy, Gordon isn't as pretty as you'd think.
This is a longer video: barring the intro and some quality of life edits and additions, this is mostly how it went down on stream.

The series, live streamed to Twitch with highlights later uploaded to RUclips, follows Gordon Freeman accompanied by the Science Team (controlled by other improv actors) as they loosely follow the events of the original Half-Life game.
I hope that, in the HL2 sequel, part of the reason that the Combine are able to take over is that Gordon and the NPC's actually wiped out the entirety of the United States Military.

i've been dealing with misophonia-induced insomnia for ages now. bought some noise cancelling earbuds, slapped this on, fell asleep to holly shrieking and got 10 straight hours of sleep. fuck yeah.

The line “More careful then a badger going after a den of snakes” gets me every time, because there is just SO much wrong with it.
Not only are badgers notoriously violent and messy when they hunt, but they also don’t eat snakes. Bauulp is thinking of a mongoose, which are known for hunting snakes. Also snakes don’t have “dens” they have nests.
It just makes me laugh, because somehow THAT is the most factually inaccurate line in the entire series.
And it comes from a character sometimes based entirely on being factual

My experience was the opposite, I was a fan of WRTV since watching his YuGiOh VR video, but even though it was recommended to me many times, I didn't end up watching HLVRAI until Act 3 had already streamed. I wish I'd seen it sooner.
Imagine my disbelief at realizing that Scorpy and Gir are partly responsible for that viral Moonbase Alpha tts video. To think that I've seen them before and am now only realizing.
I think the funniest thing is Wayne trying to dismiss the idea of bringing back the Gold HEV Suit and slowly realizing that it would have been fucking hilarious to have Gordon travel back in time to beat the staff ghost and just going "oh, yeah, that would have been funny"

I love how none of the cast knew just how big this series would get. I've seen fan art, stories, PMV's, animatics, reviews, SO much stuff to commemorate HLVRAI. Something that started so simple turned into one of the better things about this year. And it all started with one forgotten passport.
