I know the TTS voice is technically “bad,” like you can easily tell it’s a TTS voice, but the delivery is so fucking funny, the way it gasps and shouts and sounds happy but completely confused and stutters between words “WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE *deep breath* COLOR.?” I just imagine it saying everything with a tiny happy smile and huge wide wall eyed eyes

@@mixmastermind I think it's most likely that whoever was voicing him had something like a stream deck/a control panel for different effects like reverb, echo, muffling, etc. Especially since some sounds seem to be actually pre-recorded and that could've been easier to pull off that way.
I like that in the beginning that the gmone only says things like 'Hi!' or 'He ha', but gradually it creates itself a personality. The gnome is an AI that creates a personality around the player, specifically to annoy the shit out of them. The gnome knows your flaws, the gnome knows your secrets, the gnome knows *you*.
I love how he said "when do we see Benry" because that implies that this Gnome not only is fully aware of the other series' existence but also know EXACTLY what the chat wants and thus makes a joke about it

Can't believe it took us a whole year to finish this series, but goddamn. We've come a long way with this little bastard. But I honestly find a lot of his other content so much better than HLVR, especially the Fax Hell streams, Gnome Chomsky and Slump the Felf are kinda similar and they both have an incredible dynamic with Wayne, I don’t know who operates either one but they do it great.
I think the gnome's TTS is based on voice clips from a series of videos with a guy making funny voices over a picture of lightning McQueen, so kind of accurate maybe?

I appreciate the amount of effort you put into the captions. I have unreasonably sharp hearing and really bad auditory processing so it can be hard to keep up even before you get these TTS voices into the mix. Subtitles at the bottom of the screen would be enough, but the way they’re integrated into the videos lets me actually follow what’s being said AND the action on screen. And it’s pretty. And holy crap the depiction of the TTS voice losing it when the gnome has the gaming breakdown

The quality of the captions and the fact that there's closed captions here for wayne's dialogue is *chefskiss* so good and helpful THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication to not just the visual gags and high-quality editing but also accessibility and coherence, it makes a world of difference!!! It is a shame that the closed captions are censored but I assume that is because RUclips policy and algorithm sucks and not something directly within the control of wayneradiotv & co. Anyway, we love reliably captioned media 10/10

I am once again starting this series from the beginning to try and chase the high of the finale. It is a futile effort, but one I will enjoy again and again nonetheless.
i still remember watching the beginning of this stream while down in my basement during a tornado warning but still having my laptop open bc i was so determined to watch it, and im so glad i did bc these streams are the funniest shit. the way the text for characters is done in the yt vids always adds an extra layer of comedy that shows how incredible waynes editing is, this man never misses the mark.
My favorite part about this series is the gnomes personality and the friendship between them and Wayne evolving. The fact it's all improv just makes it feel so much more organic.
It took me so long to figure out whether this was an actual pre-recorded mod or someone in voice chat. With HLVRAI you could tell right away but this was so incredibly well made.
I'm still not sure, I think it's an AI that's meant to simulate text and then multiple people feeding in text via IRC and the generated audio is streamed into the gnome's position

But at the same time, if someone's just *really* good at manipulating their own voice. They could probably do things like this. I still honestly have no idea which it is. I can't wait for a behind the scenes of this series. It's already really fun. Edit: The longer/more I watch, I wonder if it's Holly with a voice changer. The humour seems to align with her, I think. I could be completely wrong tho. But yea, voice changes can let you do some really funky things with your voice like a lot of the glitching out moments in the vid.

@Adrianna Rafel They're using a discord bot with a neural network TTS (Uberduck, I think), which is surprisingly fast (though not instant). Wayne often uses stuff like this in his streams, you can generally identify it when it falls into complete gibberish in the middle of words. I think multiple people were feeding it lines, which is why it sometimes contradicts itself.
Best head canon. It has hints of all of the science team, why he understands that he's in a game, talks to Gordon even though Gordon isn't there, the multiple personalities, and being super anomalis

@@redgunnit i hate to admit that HLVRAI brought me here too, because I just sound like another one of the new children in the fandom. But I honestly find a lot of his other content so much better than HLVR, especially the Fax Hell streams, Gnome Chomsky and Slump the Felf are kinda similar and they both have an incredible dynamic with Wayne, I don’t know who operates either one but they do it great.

I appreciate the amount of effort you put into the captions. I have unreasonably sharp hearing and really bad auditory processing so it can be hard to keep up even before you get these TTS voices into the mix. Subtitles at the bottom of the screen would be enough, but the way they’re integrated into the videos lets me actually follow what’s being said AND the action on screen.

The quality of the captions and the fact that there's closed captions here for wayne's dialogue is *chefskiss* so good and helpful THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication to not just the visual gags and high-quality editing but also accessibility and coherence, it makes a world of difference!!! I am once again starting this series from the beginning to try and chase the high of the finale. It is a futile effort, but one I will enjoy again and again nonetheless.
i still remember watching the beginning of this stream while down in my basement during a tornado warning but still having my laptop open bc i was so determined to watch it, and im so glad i did bc these streams are the funniest shit. the way the text for characters is done in the yt vids always adds an extra layer of comedy that shows how incredible waynes editing is, this man never misses the mark.

My favorite part about this series is the gnomes personality and the friendship between them and Wayne evolving. The fact it's all improv just makes it feel so much more organic.
It took me so long to figure out whether this was an actual pre-recorded mod or someone in voice chat. With HLVRAI you could tell right away but this was so incredibly well made.
I'm still not sure, I think it's an AI that's meant to simulate text and then multiple people feeding in text via IRC and the generated audio is streamed into the gnome's position

I still honestly have no idea which it is. I can't wait for a behind the scenes of this series. It's already really fun.
Edit: The longer/more I watch, I wonder if it's Holly with a voice changer. The humour seems to align with her, I think. I could be completely wrong tho. But yea, voice changes can let you do some really funky things with your voice like a lot of the glitching out moments in the vid.

@Adrianna Rafel They're using a discord bot with a neural network TTS (Uberduck, I think), which is surprisingly fast (though not instant). Wayne often uses stuff like this in his streams, you can generally identify it when it falls into complete gibberish in the middle of words. I think multiple people were feeding it lines, which is why it sometimes contradicts itself.
Had me giggling the whole way through . He’s like a virtual pet combined with the best parts of Benrey and worst parts of HLVR:AI.
