Honestly I give gen z a pass because they're mostly children or VERY young adults Us millenials have no excuse for this BS. Its fucking embarrassing to be a millenial right now with this dumb "war" going on. Did I start parting my hair in the middle? Yeah. Because I like the way it looks, not because side parts are disgusting. Flared leggings and yoga pants are the same fucking thing. I hate high rise jeans & prefer low rise because of how my body is built. Can't people just like things in peace if no one's getting hurt? And if this whole "MiLlEnNiAl gEn Z wAr" was just a meme itd be one thing but millennials are genuinely getting pissed about this shit. Its soooooo fucking cringe for adults in their late 20s-30s to act this way.
The most ridiculous thing about the internet is that ppl are literally having fights over what kinds of pants are in trend. Also, coming from a 15 year old, it's a misconception that gen z hates skinny jeans, cuz literally so many gen z'ers wear skinny jeans.
I swear that question was set up... I still see skinny jeans everywhere plus Millennials are the ones who are most likely to revert to baggy jeans, I mean JNCO isn't making a comeback for the Z crowd ya know?
@@wxxd_deity RIGHT? The funny part is, in my day, (as a millennial) high waisted pants and skinny jeans = social suicide. They should have said low-rise flares instead, Zs are allergic to those
to me it’s like, skinny jeans are no longer a trend cause they’re a staple. they aren’t the main part of an outfit, but they’re not like ugly or anything.
Skinny jeans aren’t in style but they’re not out of style either. Skinny jeans are a staple piece. They’ve been around forever and they’re gonna stay. People like them. They’re just not the most popular Jean style right now. It’s like low rise bootcut jeans in the early 2000s. It was in style. Did that make normal skinny jeans out of style then? No. People still wore them and you still saw them because it’s a staple piece. You just saw a lot more bootcut and low rise jeans than you did in other style periods so that’s what was “In style.”
Later in the video, Sarah (the girl who said that) provided context that had been cut, saying that depression is on a spectrum, but they only left in that last statement.

@@dumplinglover8042 for articles, who to sell trendy clothes(mainly young pple bc they mostly care about being cool). To analyze groups of people, its a bad way if you’re only use generational categories. At that point you’re ignoring class and race.
I am a millennial. I am 30. Not old, but probably seems old to someone who is half my age. I know why we clash with baby boomers- they raised us and did some messed up things. I didn't know there was a supposed war with gen z. That doesn't make any sense? These are some immature millennial getting defensive over children making fun of past styles. Did we not do that too?
Yep! 26 here, I think it's normal. Gen z is just emerging and trying to create a space for themselves that was just dominated by millenials. It's their turn to create their own youth culture A lot of millenials may still be young, but we're getting older and dont make the majority of the "youths"
thank you both for being open minded! generations before us act like they didn't do the same or they expect us to act like adults, but we're just teens trying to survive in a very controversial world. We are forming our own opinions through research and I think it's absolutely ridiculous for grown adults to be fighting with kids on an app about jeans. People can do what they want as long as it doesn't hurt another person or invalidate somebody's identity. thank you both once again for understanding us instead of bashing us! (-a gen z kid)
I still wear skinny jeans and I panicked when everyone said they were out of style. Major relief to see D'Angelo agree that they are still in style because he has the best fashion sense. (Due to the high number of replies I need to assure everyone that I'm joking. I wear all kinds of jeans. I was just shocked to see that many people say that skinny jeans were out of style.)
Ya'll gen z saying its out of style just because their legs is a frigging a chicken bone leg (might say nice excuse to hate on it just because it doesn't look good on you, so much negativity for a piece of cloth) lol nothing is out of style as long as someone still uses it
That’s why you dress the way you want and try not to follow trends. Do what you want. I technically stumbled upon cottagecore just because the algorithm ate up stuff that I already liked and spewed back the trend towards me and I ended up liking it. But I chose to follow 40s and 50s fashion history just because I find those eras appealing and not because they’re on trend. Following trends especially in fashion is exhausting
Honestly it just feels like GenZ are just being teenagers while Millennials are having a hard time accepting that they’re adults. Remember when the internet made fun of 80s hair and baggy clothes?
i think every generation when been the younger one, has the same feeling of being the most open minded and the one who is going to fix everything, boomers did it, gen xers did it, milenials and now gen z... Its a cycle, when the next generation comes, its gonna be the same
@@teacup3370 I mean to be fair, a majority of the gen Z population are still underage and don't have enough power to make any societal or political changes on a large scale. I dont think it's valid to make a judgement like that so early on. But i may be biased because I am apart of gen Z so 🤷🏾♀️

Maybe it kinda always was and we are just getting more and more aware of it. I don't know, but it is sad.
That goes over many generations. I'm about 2 years from being a Gen Z but I'm a millennial and my mental state has never mattered to anyone, not even from my own mother, it's just a huge issue in general but I do feel bad for Gen Z's having to deal with that over the internet. Elder Millennial here (December 1981). I saw a meme ages ago about the importance of us not being tricked into treating Gen Z with the same disgusting vitriol we experienced growing up ("Millennials are killing X!" articles every day of your life, so effing annoying). And I really took that to heart. I might hate their pants, but thrilled to see Gen Z preparing to take over.

THENK YEW, I'm mid 30s and can't stand this bs. Gen X seems more compassionate, open and able to be themselves than my generation was, and good for them, keep making comedy music on tiktok you groovy little shits
What annoys me about millennial hate is how we are so stupid we can't cook, clean, sew a button on or etc... Me holding up a picture of stuff I've sewn that is complex and the older person viewing it was like why can't millennials not be so stupid and lazy a learn to do stuff like that. Me: .... I learned to sew in high school, I'm a millennial.... Them back pedaling: Oh not you!
Born in 89, I have a lot of faith in GenZ. I saw these things A LOT too and it annoyed me so effing much I promised myself I will never be that asshole. Ngl, when the “ok boomer” came and I say GenZ using it a lot, it honestly just made me smirk.
I want to give every one of these kids a hug and tell them they're good and valid. Oh god, Gen Z you're doing so well, especially given the shitty cards you were dealt in terms of the world being garbage. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
They weren't in style when I was growing up, I remember them coming in around '07, '08 Styles cycle through, but just wear what you want. If you think it looks good on you, wear it. I still see a lot of people wearing them so maybe theyve become a staple piece but they definitely weren't in the late 90s and early 2000s
I think them being in style is a bit different than them simply being worn a lot. When I think of what’s in style, I think of what’s popular and actively being discussed when it comes to fashion. Skinny jeans kinda left that conversation. That doesn’t mean people don’t still wear them, at the end of the day no one really cares, but they just aren’t acknowledged as part of current fashion trends. It’s not a bad thing
Poor Theo man, like hearing another person cry like that makes me want to cry. Its okay honey, I'll name a rescue horse after you. They need strong names and you are strong.
@Moe Kazoku I rescue kill pen horses and horses from slaughter, and name them after people from history, murder victims, people who went missing, MMA fighters, pro wrestlers, after Heavy Metal band and singers, important people. Take the Irish Giant for example, or if I get like two drafts name them Andre and Undertaker, That kind of thing. I have a whole list on my phone. The first horse I rescued, I named Temperance after Bones, on well... Bones. Part of their care is leaving the abuse behind and having a clean slate, and new identity.
I was crying listening to them at the 10:30 ish mark, I’ve tried to end my life multiple times and it pains me to see others in that kind of pain, it reminds me of my younger self and all I wanna do is help them and hug them
This whole "war" is based on fashion trends. It's like these people don't know that you can own and wear different things. It's called style and having a wardrobe sweaties 💅
give it a decade they'll be back in again. the center part was so 90s and now it's back - my forever center parted hair is very grateful, but also... i really don't care. the older you get the less fucks you give. and that's true with all generations!
I never cared about trends, not even as a kid. I've had a middle part my entire life. I wear skinny jeans because I struggle to find jeans that fit otherwise due to weight loss and honestly I want to show my figure after working my butt off to lose weight so I'm going to keep wearing them lol
@Znyvi yea trying to lump in someone born in 97 with someone born in 2012 is insane. We had entirely different childhoods. iPhones came out when I was 11, versus a 2010 kid played with an iPhone before he could talk.
Yeah I was just talking about this. We aren’t working hard enough for older generations, despite it being way easier for them, but not cool enough for the new generation. We had to deal with student debt and economic crashes, racial and sexual orientation equality JUST started becoming more accepted. It’s really sad that Gen Z doesn’t have to deal with a lot of things we still had to, and mocks us for it :/ Not all, but I’ve seen a trend. Edit: Since most a prone to being angry, Gen Z has its own plethora of issues and exclusive tragedies. I was specifically talking about the War on Terror, the AIDS epidemic and other intensely dangerous/fear mongering and suppressive subjects that Gen Z didn’t experience. Not that they themselves aren’t dealing with debt, racism, inequality, etc. My specific point is the fact that almost immediately, and proven by a lot of the comments, is there can’t be any comradery in these difficult times without jumping to “WELL YEAH BUT MINE IS WORSE.” Yeah. It is. That’s the point. We are trying to STOP it before it gets even worse than that when you’re our age. (For reference, I’m 25. Not sure where that places me in all this.) You already have the most damaged mental health landscapes due to the severity of your exclusive tragedies (like the school shooting crisis), please try to calm down.

I think they're out of style, but people still wear them. Now the style is like wide legged, straight legged and flared pants. But plenty of people still wear skinny jeans
She can still wear them while they’re out of style... they’re not popular right now and that’s not a bad thing, trends change and they come and go and whether people want or can afford to follow the very fast paced trends is always a factor to consider. While something can objectively be out of style they are still manufactured and sold and people can still rock them and think they look good.
I hope I will never stop figuring shit out. Because once you think you have get it all, not only are you dead wrong, but that's when you start judging and hating others.
hot take: having these formative years where you are meant to be very social (high school) and instead having everything online has made everyone more open minded. not only do we not have the normal social pressures of fitting in, but we also have access to so many more people from all across the country and the world to talk to. the social unrest last summer also helped ppl open their eyes i think.
I am 56 and this sounds like us as teenagers ad young adults having conversations like this too. We didn't have social media, but we did have a social consciousness. We also thought our parents were outdated and conservative. We just had to fight other injustices, like apartheid and accepting homosexuals and discrimination with races or people different from ourselves. Fighting for women's equality etc. It's so amazing how each generation forges the way for the next generation to build on the social issues they had been fighting. I hear it more and more as each generation comes into being. I love your videos, btw.

They should have said low-rise flares instead, Zs are allergic to those
Jeans are jeans..dont know why they complain about it..
to me it’s like, skinny jeans are no longer a trend cause they’re a staple. they aren’t the main part of an outfit, but they’re not like ugly or anything.
If Millenials and Gen Z unite, no one can stop us from leaving the world a better place than we found it.

thank you both for being open minded! generations before us act like they didn't do the same or they expect us to act like adults, but we're just teens trying to survive in a very controversial world.

D'angelo saying 22 is too old for Harry Potter had me SO confused bc everyone grew up w Harry Potter way younger here but then I remembered I'm british
It came out when I was 12 lol
Technically I think he said he was too young for Harry Potter.
I just didnt like it/still dont lile it-
I’m 23 and watched Harry Potter when I was 5. Didn’t care for it
Funny is I'm also apparently "too young" for Harry Potter, it's one of my childhood series and I'm Gen Z lmao
I like how whenever D’Angelo gets a question wrong he calls it stupid.

@@meyeneetuks4680 Tiktok is legit a security issue
There's no need to install tiktok because other social media platforms repost all their videos :D
@@meyeneetuks4680 Yep, TikTok is basically malware. For an international aerospace company with both commerical and government programs, it's imperative that our systems stay as safe as possible. I and many others have access to some work stuff on mobile, so we were advised not to download TikTok. It's not a company rule per se, but they definitely made it clear they didn't want to risk exposing any of our data 🙃
I’m a Gen Z and I think it’s funny how we make fun of their Harry Potter obsession when we literally, us Gen Z, go shifting to Hogwarts and read Wattpad including Harry Potter characters.

"Oh yeah, skinny jeans are out of style," she says...while wearing them 🤔 peer pressure is the one thing that transcends generations, I swear to god 🤦🏻♀️
You can wear out of style things
Exactly what I was thinking
I agree they’re out of style and still own a pair. And have worn them sometimes
I'm 29 and I'm still figuring shit out. Staying open minded is key🙏🏽

"trapped between generations"
I felt this so damn hard
ruclips.net/video/Cmp1R7frXWw/видео.html
.
Proud to say that I actually deleted tiktok like a week ago because my therapist told me I needed a tiktok time out

They ARE out of style in many parts of the world. That's just a fact that can be accepted also by people who love and wear them anyways.
Skinny jeans were forced on the people en masse anyway! It's like all other jeans stopped existing at the time so.... This ish is made up af by Paul Marketing. Who cares. 😐
Like I guess things can be out of style but you don’t have to not wear them. Like vans might not be as in fashion anymore but a huge host of people wear them bc they’re just normal shoes if that makes sense

you’re absolutely part if the harry potter generation,, the first harry potter book was published in june 1997
I think he meant more the kids/teenagers that grew up during the Harry Potter craze during the late 90s and early 2000s as the films were being released
I was really young when Harry Potter was becoming popular and the movies were coming out

In Gen Y, there’s a slight division as well. The geriatric millennials (1980-1984) are pretty different from younger millennials. I am 31 and I share more principles with my gen Z cousins than I do with my 1982 sister. I think it’s the internet honestly.
